We have several characters who use archery skills in their movesets, but they aren't specifically archers in the sense.

Which is something I would like in a future character, is to be a real archer, with archery being the primary source of damage, rather than relying on a sword or a bow that can turn into dual blades.

I was more thinking about the dropkicks, but sure, he's still got the monster-like aspects so he's not solely a wrestler.

My problem with that is would a primary bow user actually work well in Smash? You would just be shooting out arrows all willy-nilly.
This is kind of a problem I've also had with Edelgard, like has anyone made a viable moveset concept for her?

yes, one (or two in byleth's case) bow move totally makes them an archer

and by that logic, like mentioned above, somebody like Bowser would count as a wrestler due to his few grapple moves

Injustice, MvC, Persona and Killer Instinct are all able to do dedicated archers just fine though the latter two also have an extra bit to it (a Persona and a Drone) to spice them up a little.
The bow itself can be used for melee attacks and then there's multiple different arrow types as well as methods of shooting with them.

Calling those characters "archers" is a disservice to actual archers.

They use swords primarily. They just happen to also have a bow. That they only use in one attack. Also, see this post by Schnee.
