i always figured it was because:
1) if you choose to pick up a secondary for falcon's bad matchups, that character is most likely going to be out right better than falcon
2) falcon is fun as hell

I'm decent at best. If I pick up any other character my falcon will fail. And the character I'm picking up will fail as well.

I tried it with falco. It just doesn't work for me. I'm either decent with falco or decent with falcon.

I stuck to falcon because... hell why did I stick to falcon? lol i dont even know why i play falcon, but I've grown attached to the play style so i'm not gonna switch back.

oh i remember. I played falcon because i saw silent spectre stomping the crap out of everyone during a tech chase. SO I said "that's gonna be me!" I enjoy tech chasing =)

Well, Joe found a better way. Also, it doesn't work because then you can technically post anything and put "NSFW" tags around it and be fine.

falco and puff are the most fun, they have the most situations to adapt and play differently to and all their moves have good purposes that can be used in a lot of different ways. They also have very unique playstyles, nobody else controls the stage with lasers or can move in the air that well, and both have really fun shield pressure techniques and we all know shield pressure is the most fun part about this game.


Marth and sheik have to be the most boring if you main them. Obviously if you played puff all your life and you just picked up marth you'll have more fun with marth but if all things are equal then they are pretty boring, just camp till you get a grab then combo traditionally until you can gimp or edgeguard in a way people consider gay.

But then again, if you do something new with marth or sheik it looks tight and you seem more innovative than usual.

I would really like to, but work and school have been destroying my free time. I'd like to come to some small smash fest soon, but the earliest I could realistically find time would probably be January.

That said, I just realized I haven't played melee in about a month or two. Probably rusty as hell
