Today I made a major amendment to my control scheme. From now on, I will be using the following:

A - Jump
B - Special
C - Smash
D - Taunts
L - Shield
R - Attack
T - Off
X - Attack
Y - Grab
Z - Jump

I haven't decided between X or B as special/attack. The two buttons are going to be used in a similar fashion for the way I've designed my control scheme. The determining factor will be which button I can zap jump more consistently with Lucas / squall higher with Ice Climbers.

If you're going to use that, i'd say keep B as special.
It would keep the flow you have for recovering and reversals.
Switching from B to X would be difficult. and rolling from Jump to an OOS aerial would be fine rolling from A to B.

Though, why the change?

I used to use:

I'm trying to stream line my controls slightly and have more consistency doing DSC > JCUsmash given it's like one of the only viable kill options we have as Sopo. You have no idea how many times I've accidentally Grabbed people I've meant to usmash at high percents.

But yeah, I seem to be able to squall higher with B than I do with X so I'll be putting it at B to Special and X to attack. With Jump at A, I can either special or attack out of shield nearly frame perfect via rolling my thumb like you mentioned. Keep in mind I'm going to be using the setup for other characters as well, so frame perfect jump > special is helpful more so for them than it would be for ICs.

x-jump
y-jump
r-shield
l-shield
z-grab.
It'll be hard getting used to but I think it'll help in tourneys.
