Yeniths placed 16th, getting out of pools then he lost to Fuzzy 1st bracket match, then to Gantz.

I'm confused too. Although when i signed up, VirusBlueMage was already taken, which is why i changed Blue to Blew.

My name comes from final fantasy XI. Ive been playing it for 4 years now and I'm a Blue Mage main (level 75) called "Viruscrusher". My favourite move (although is monster only) is also Virus. I keep writing to square-enix to get them to make it learnable by Blue mages, every time they update.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Blue_Mage

Does anyone else play by anychance? I'm on bahumet server under the name Viruscrusher.

well if you dont believe joe or me, ask yens tomorrow. fingers crossed VBM can make it and play tomorrow. VBM is working late tonight.

He also said that the original bit (main roy, likes smashtom) was trolling/joking but the whole FFXI bit and coincidential name was legit. He hasnt really played other players before but watches a lot of vids. He didnt know about pound 4 until now, so ive linked him to bits about Faab (the real Virusbluemage).

I think hes very similar to bombsoldier, completely unknown and suddenly beats high ranking players.

Btw why isn't each game being ran on different days?
I can foresee alot of mishaps/confusion while each game is being ran at the same time.
Surely it makes sense to run each game on different days?

The turnout for each game will drastically be hurt by running each on the different
Pools + Singles for melee and brawl were done in one day and the day started very late at 2:30 and ended 10:30.

And this is a two day event which is going to be longer.
So there won't be confusion with the two games being run because it is done at EVERY monthly for the last year now.

Why would the turnout be drastically hurt??
If people are entering both events then they are going to be there all weekend anyway.
I'm only bringing this up because I don't want to come down were it ends up being **** because of both games clashing and people just playing friendlies constantly etc.

Also, B.Bill apparently didn't know this was a 2 day event which now results in him needing to be housed whereas he was going to come for just 1 day thinking it was a 1 day event.

Because alot of people would only go to one event and the fact that both games are in the same room makes people enter both, increasing the turnout for both games

I see no reason to do it on seperate days when we have been doing this all the time and we have EVEN more time to do it now.
Friendlies get played not because both games are being played, that's cos people are being utter fools and not paying attention, but this event will be different cos I will be there to sort this out and get the tournament up and running and number TV's to scopr out the friendly players and give them nice juicy warnings.

2 Warnings and then you're out of the tournament.

looool That's why i was soooo confused with Ben....I was asking him where he is going to stay and he was just like anyway it doesn't matter other people need it...and then I was just getting confused and was like.....okkkk

Fair enough, Well I'm glad the TVs are being numbered haha I think people need to understand tournament comes first before friendlies.
Also, Quicker the tournament is done then more time for friendlies I suppose.

This isnt a monthly. This is supposed to be a national tournament. People need to understand there will (hopefully) be more people than usual and that no games take priority over tournament matches, whether it be friendly or MM.

Theres no problem with running both games at once provided Charles gets it completely organised with whos playing who on what game, whether its by himself or getting a team of people to help out. And tbh, the older players should be setting an example, since we have the experience to make a smooth running tournament.

I personally think if we have people like Charles, Me, Ben, AmcD, Yens, and a few other brawl organisers, then it can be done. Its going to be particularly hard on the players who play both games as they may have clashing matches, in which case, if you are called for 2 games at the same time, immediately tell the Tournament Organiser so that they can plan around you.

Tbh I think the disqualification system used at Pound 4 is appropriate since it can be particularly confusing, and the last thing Charles needs is non-tournament matches being played whilst there are more important matches to be played.

edit:

Prof: glad you're manning up and making a good example to all the younger players :)

lol Thanks baby.

Just trying to fix up the community and stuff.

I agree on this Pound 4 thingy though, some people can't be found cos they step outside to smoke when they have a bracket match.
If they haven't returned in 10 mins then they get sent to the losers, then 5 minutes and they are out of the tournament.

So right about why the 2 games should be played on the same day. I know if the 2 were on seperate days I wouldn't bother playing melee but when the 2 are going on I'll get involved and I know it's the same/other way round for most melee players

I dont see the big deal about encouraging as many players as possible to come by holding both games on both days. If someone probably wouldn't bother to join a melee or brawl tournament otherwise, then they probably wont contribute much to the event other than one more player to go out in the pools.

From what I saw in the last london monthly its going to be very busy either way.

...And I want to come on the 28th :(

well to be honest it took so long because there was a lack of brawl setups last time, if we fix that then we should be aok. in fact i plan on bringing my wii. just one thing, do i need to have the unlimited replay thing on it?

Just bring it, if anything just let people know there's no infinite replay on it.
its better than having 1 less set-up at the end of the day.

but next event is still sometime away, adding homebrew isn't too difficult so you should add the unlimited replay in the mean time.

if this is a two day event then that effectively means that anyone entering any even will need housing (that doesnt live in London ofc) and I dont think I've seen enough spaces available for housing!!

There is NOOOO friendlies while the tournament is at the pools stage and beginning and middle bracket stages.
Unless there are TV's which are set for friendlies.

And you don't need to worry about not getting in friendlies, this event is long and there is time for it while still having loads of fun. You just can't do it while the tournament is running and we need TV's to complete the main event.....WHICH IS THE TOURNAMENT LOL!!!!

Surely that's not too much to ask?

And if you are caught taking TV's which have not been set for friendlies then one warning will take place. Another and you're out the tournament.

X1-12 - Why ain't you coming?

Why am I not on the confirmed list for this?

People have asked several times and I've told them I'm coming to this :ohwell: so put me on the list.

Less Alex doesn't realise and he ends up not being able to house me ~_~

Lol, yeah. I know what you mean. I know I'm not gunna get far in the tourney, so friendlies are the only way I'm gunna get quite a few matches.

And that seems very reasonably :)

So like, does anyone know where Craven Gardens (near Barkingside Tube) is?

If so, how far is it to walk from there? F*** the bus, I'm a student I'm not paying for that.

edit

Fuzzy, for the sake of my sanity, for this can you at the very least dedicate one of the large TVs to a brawl setup?

It's too hard for me to concentrate on the small TVs, because I can't see what's going on... that, and if I try to sit close enough, other people can't see. -.- it's probably the reason JMiller caught me with a gyro, I genuinely didn't see the thing coming. :/

I'm probably not the only guy who comes to these tourneys who's blind but seriously. one of the big TVs needs to be for brawl so I can play. :<

please?
