I was actually gonna submit Phoenix Wright myself so instead I’m going to submit Kazuya

I won’t go too in detail because he’s already in Smash, but Kazuya has an interesting moveset and playstyle and would fit right in in this game, as he does in Smash. He would also show people that we won’t always pick the “face of the series” although I guess Sephiroth already does that.

Plant and Zombie (PvZ Series)
Tower Defense/ Hero Shooter/ Card Game

Plants vs Zombies is a series of strategy games created by Popcap Games (now owned by Electronic Arts), over the years they have gone on many genres including shooters, card battle games, and gacha, but the genra everyone is familiar with is there tower defense games

Since both sides are what give the games its personality it would only fit that both would start a truce and become a duel fighter (seen above) Browncoat would deal with the melee moves and Peashooter would deal with the projectile and keep away tactics.

Since there are large cast of characters to reference it would fit that this will be a more reference heavy fighter like game and watch. And with how unque the games can be I think that they would fit into smash.

I’ll nominate Leon from Resident Evil.
1627000551485.png

Resident Evil is a highly successful survival horror franchise with 110 million units sold. Leon’s moveset would be based on weapons that he can use in the Resident Evil games, such as guns, knives, and grenades.

Job #50
Billy and Jimmy Lee (Double Dragon)

Billy_and_Jimmy_Lee.jpg

When it comes to beat-em-ups, for many people, Double Dragon is the signature series. Of series in that genre, it certainly had the most outside media presence, with a movie, a cartoon, and other endeavors, as well as a fighting game spin-off, a crossover with the Battletoads, and several rereleases and revival games in somewhat recent years, such as Double Dragon Neon and Double Dragon IV, as well as cameos and crossovers with the River City series' own revivals. I pick the Lee Brothers over Kunio-Kun just about because they are likely more known in the US and Europe, as big as Kunio-Kun is/was in Japan.

The two brothers have no problem fighting, given that they fight a big street gang (and sometimes each other) all the time. They can do a Whirlwind Kick that propels them in the air, shoot out a spiraling energy beam of two dragon heads (Double Dragon, go figure), and even shoot forward with dragon energy that engulfs their whole body. But beyond energy attacks and various brawling moves, you can also do unique things with them, mechanically. You could either have a duo or Jimmy as an alt for Billy. For a duo attack, you can have them High-Five to buff each other in various ways. You could have them find and pick up various weapons, or have it as a move that has them switch weapons [hand to hand -> knife -> chain -> baseball bat -> trash can, etc.]. You can have them also use the tapes from Double Dragon Neon for even more buffs, as well as specialized moves like fireballs, bombs, lightning bolts, and dragon spirits. Basically, you can figure out many ways to make them more than "just" brawlers.

My votes
1) Parappa the Rapper
2) Billy & Jimmy Lee
3) Plant & Zombie

Pyramid Head just missed the cut. And I prefer Jill to Leon. RIP. Also probably want RE, Mega Man, and Chun-Li before Phoenix gets on. That’s my preference, though.

So that means we have a tie between PaRappa and Phoenix. Well, you probably know what to do now, here’s the strawpoll for Job #50:

Alright, the votes have been counted and Phoenix Wright gets into this thread!

Alright so I think Ace Attorney is the series where kind of obvious what the stage would be and that is the District Court. Of course some people might have different ideas for the stage which is perfect because it means I get to ask if there’s any objections to me automatically making district court his stage. So if anyone has other ideas for stages, just say so.

Anyways, I’ll move onto the next job in a couple of hours.

Sorry for double post, but here are some Earthbound/Mother series enemies! (One from each game)

Devil Car
CC491036-3732-4885-BF52-B68ED6173D4C.png

Behaves exactly as is does as our universe’s Smash Run.

Starman
741066FE-12DD-4A7A-A014-30400DC2816D.png

Behaves exactly as it does as an Assist Trophy in our universe.

1st Party enemy: Pigmask (Mother)

The Pigmask would walk around slowly, with his blaster in hand. However, the moment he sees a fighter, he shoots forward beams from his gun (resembling the animation when he does so in Mother 3). If you're close enough to the Pigmask, he can attack you with a kick with relatively short range.

Smash Run Enemies

Skellobit Army
Skellobit.jpg

Skellobits are the undead soilders of the Underwhere of Super paper mario, they are the types of enemies that come in multible forms, above is the basic Skellobit, they are moblin sized enemies, they pace the halls of smash run when they encounter players they use there spears to charge into the player, luckily they are quite frail.

SPMSpikySkellobit.png

Spiked Skellobits are the commanders of the Skellobit army, they use there magical spears to summon more Skellobits to gang up on you, they also have higher defense and the abilty to use its horn to to a rising headbutt

SPMSkellobomber.png

125px-SPMSpikySkellobait.png

Skellobombers and the Skellobaits are the airiel infantry, they make up for there frail bodies with the bombers constantly dropping Skellobaits, Skellobaits have the abilty to shoot freezing breath, aside from that Skellobombers can also toss exploding heads.

I love Super Paper Mario, but the Skellobit Army feels a bit random of an enemy choice (especially when you take the divisive reception of Super Paper Mario and the notable Mario enemy omissions into account). But then again, I enjoyed Super Paper Mario, so I would be cool with the inclusion.

It would fit better since that game was a platformer so in a cosmic sort of way it fits

Since it is based off a platforming enemy it would be easier to adapt into smash than an rpg enemy, the reason action games are easier to adapt into smash is that you can see the abilities they have up front in contrast with rpgs characters who are more static in nature
That is true, now that I think about it. I retract my previous statement, sorry for any confusion!

Okay so this next job will be yet another stage related job, after we did one for Metroid and Carmen Sandiego:

Job #51: Submit A Donkey Kong Stage
You can submit any stage from the Donkey Kong series of games. Please submit a location, how the stage would work, and how it would look.

Stage: Diddy's Kong Quest

Details tend not to be too important on this thread so I'll just give an extremely basic rundown.
This is a scrolling stage that takes fighters through a variety of locations from DKC2:
Mainbrace Mayhem, Hot Head Hop, Jungle Jinx, Crazy Kremland, Hornet Hive, and finally the Flying Krock - which explodes and sends fighters back to Mainbrace Mayhem, starting the cycle anew.

Each stage only gets about 20 seconds in the cycle, which leads to a perfect 2 minute loop. Diddy and Dixie can be seen in the background of each form except the Krock, doing some kind of funny activity. The Krock instead has Kiddy Kong tied up, with him being freed when the Krock's explosion disintegrates the rope he's stuck in

Gangplank_Galleon.png

Gangplank Galleon
A recurring stage from dkc, Gangpoank would start out as a flat area with two platforms rising in both sides, Kremlings would occasionally toss rolling tnt barrels at you as abstacle but you can launch them back causing one of the two platforms to break, if you break a platform a different thing will happen depending on what one you destroy.

If you destroy the left platform the ship will sink and the crows nest will be the new platform of the arena, its completely flat but it constantly sways up and down, occasionally Krow would come in a try to pick and launch a fighter with his talons.

If you destroy the right platform you go down to the rock below, its uneven with a noticeable gap in between, crabs will periodically walk left to right on the platforms making them pretty hazardous

Overall a dynamic stage

My submission will be Mine Cart Madness

2B26EBE0-1B4A-46EF-96B3-45A8447C05A5.jpeg

So pretty much, you play on the platform on the second image. Above and below you there are a bunch of minecart tracks going across the stage and in a loop. You can go on these tracks although sometimes mine carts will go across the tracks meaning it’s pretty dangerous.

Here’s a very simple layout idea I totally didn’t make in one minute in the notes app:

I’ll nominate 25m from the arcade game since the Donkey Kong arcade game was highly influential, and 25m is the most recognizable area in the game. The layout would be the game’s stage, and as hazards, the fire balls would appear, and the retro DK would throw barrels that damage players who contact them.

Gonna submit the Moblin enemy from the Legend of Zelda series.
6520BC3E-A300-48E4-AD86-BDDF7C86E9A3.png

The Moblins would take their appearance from BOTW. They would attack with their clubs, which deal a good amount of damage. If you hit them hard enough consistently, then they will drop their clubs and attack with their fists (which still deal a good chunk of damage). The default variant is the red version, then there is the stronger blue version, and then the strongest black version, each coming with stronger weapons (I assume these would all be considered the same enemy).

All smash runs needs those weird one off enemies and I think the Green Slimes would fit pretty well

Originating from Find Mii, they would be weak enemies that can give off a poisonous tackle, however they have a twist, they can only be drafted by energy based attacks as all other attacks simply go though them

Here are some Wario enemies!

Spearhead
5E2B785D-83A5-4A13-818F-71880E933AD5.png

They would walk slowly until they spot a fighter. Once they spot a fighter they charge forward and attempt to poke said fighter with their spear.

Bandinero
24803367-CF2A-4413-B293-705CDD9264ED.png

They act very similarly to Spearheads. The Bandinero walks around, charges when it sees a fighter, Yada Yada Yada. The main difference is the Bandineros being weaker due to not having a spear.

Champion of Hyrule Champion of Hyrule Two questions:
  1. Would adding Smash Run enemies from it disconfirm a new series?
  2. Can Smash Run enemies be added for companies not yet represented?
Yes, Smash Run enemies will deconfirm characters from series. If there's a character someone submitted as an enemy and you think shouldn't be added as a smash run enemy because of how it would deconfirm a character, you can say so and then we'll do a vote.

And then your second question, for now, yeah you can't submit enemies from companies not yet represented.

I think we need to be realistic with the enemies we submit. We can’t just submit enemies from an obscure indie game no one’s heard of, and we can’t submit enemies from an obscure one-off, spin-off game that no one talks about anymore (The latter can have one enemy, but not the bias treatment).
