Submit a spooky franchise and its first 3 characters!

Halloween is approaching, so we'll naturally need to add a spooky franchise! This can be a lighthearted family-friendly parody, legitimate gruesome horror, or a franchise that mixes both! Note that franchises that are usually not horror but have leaned into it on occasion (for example, the Banana Splits) will not be elegible, nor will generally non-spooky franchises that just so happen to feature major characters with spooky theming (no He-Man, even if Skeletor is a skeleton.). Your submission will only be elegible if you include an image.

You want one of the oldest forms of halloween, spooky-filled entertainment that is not really horror? Look no further than the Universal Classic Monsters franchise. This media franchise was presumably the progenitor to cinematic universes as well as the fact it spawned many movies based off some of the greatest spooky tales in pop culture with some of the most iconic character names.

Spooky Franchise: Five Nights at Freddy's

All the submissions so far have been classic horror (and horror-adjacent) characters, so I wanted to go with a franchise that's a little more modern. Five Nights at Freddy's sparked a surge in indie horror games, and while the franchise isn't as wildly popular as it once was, it still has a very dedicated following and a few projects in the works, including a feature film. Plus, who can say no to giant animatronics crammed into go-karts?

My character submissions are...
  • Freddy Fazbear (FNaF 1 appearance): The face of the franchise.
  • Springtrap: The overarching antagonist of the series. I'd imagine his appearance would have to be toned down given that there is a visible corpse within his suit, but that's no big deal - FNaF AR did a similar thing.
  • Helpy: Hailing from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, Helpy is a more surprising pick and a cuter character to balance out the horror aspects of Freddy and Springtrap.

Super popular game series, I think it captures the horror aesthetic well and would be a nice addition. Does this go against my loose rule from before that I would prefer series that haven’t been in kart racers before? Technically, but theres like one castlevania in konami krazy racers and they changed his design so I don’t think it counts

Horror Submission: Monster House

A 2005 Sony Animated Pictures family-friendly(?) horror film where three pre-teens explore and confront the seemingly living haunted house of their bitter old neighbor, Mr. Nebbercracker. It's become quite the cult-classic and, despite being a singular 90-minute film (and a THQ PS2 game), there's a good amount to pull from for tracks, additional racers, items, and vehicles. We might have to get creative with skins, though.

The first three racers would be DJ, Chowder and Jenny.

Ghostbusters

An iconic film franchise full of interesting ghost designs. Between the four films, the two cartoons and the mountains of toys, there's lot we can do.

The characters will be the Ghostbusters (Venkman, Stantz, Zedmore and Spegler. Four in one), Slimer and the Staypuft Marshmellow Man.

This will be a good opportunity to submit franchises either with not a lot of potential for extra content or that you don't feel confident in the rest of the thread's familiarity with.   1. Oil Tank - gives you a boost forwards
  2. Tacks - can be placed on the track as a trap
  3. Flame Power - Invincibility
