What's a crossover without some good ol' juxtaposition? Since all our franchises so far have been comical in nature, please submit a franchise that has a consistently serious tone - franchises that are on-and-off when it comes to taking themselves seriously (like Sonic or TMNT for example) will not be allowed, though mostly serious franchises that happen to have occasional comedic spin offs or moments (like Batman or Dragon Ball) will be allowed so long as they're based on a more serious iteration. Mad Max is an Australian dystopian action film series directed by George Miller and produced by Byron Kennedy. The series is about "Mad" Max Rockatansky, a police officer turned vigilante in a near-future Australia in the midst of societal collapse and he participates in vehicular combat wars that appear in movies.

Mad max would make sense in a racing game, since the series has a lot of vehicles and locations to choose as karts and tracks.

Racers: Max Rockatansky, Imperator Furiosa (Femal character) and Immortan Joe.

I know DragonRobotKing26 submitted Star Wars for the first round but Star Wars is a highly iconic blockbuster franchise that is no stranger to the racing world with the Pod Racing video game series. Lots of fun ideas and wacky potential for pods to be karts, fun racers and ideas for tracks too.

Serious Franchise: Batman

(The default look of Batman would be a more subdued appearance ala his modern appearances, I just love this TAS shot)

He is vengence. He is the night. He is Batman.

The Caped Crusader isn't the first guy you'd think of for a light-hearted kart racer, but he's got a utility belt full of content potential - Various iconic locations for tracks, a plethora of bat-gadgets to replace items, no shortage of allies and enemies to race alongside him, and of course, lots of bat-themed vehicles to race in.

My racers are:

• Batman: The goddamn Batman, naturally.
• Robin (Richard Grayson): Can't say his actual name because Smashboards censors, but it's important that Batman has the Boy Wonder on his crew.
• The Joker: The most infamous member of Batman's rogues' gallery, and perhaps the most famous comic book villain there is. His default costume would probably be inspired by the comics, but the Clown Prince of Crime is brimming with costume potential.

Serious Series: Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy is a series of role-playing games by Square Enix in which most games are self-contained in their stories and worlds. The series has plenty of marketable "mascot" characters (like Moogle, Black Mage, Cacutar, etc) who I think we could include later on, but since this is the serious round, I'll propose:

• Cloud Strife (the main protagonist of the most popular game, and probably the face of the series)
• Jack Garland (the antagonist of the original Final Fantasy, and also the protagonist of its prologue, the most recent game)
• Lightning (I just think she's cool)
