Smash WiiU and 3DS - Ike Joins the Fray

I indeed talked with a friend yesterday, after playing Brawl, about Ike's design from the second Wii Fire Emblem being much cooler than his current one. And, here we go!

No it doesn't. Roy was supposed to be in Brawl alongside Ike and Marth, but was cut due to time constraints.

Smash Wii U & 3DS director Masahiro Sakurai says "Pic of the day. Ike, the swordsman of magnificent strength, joins the battle!! Strike your foes down with his powerful smash attacks." He also adds, "For this game, Ike's design is based on the hero that appears in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. His sword deals heavy damage in Smash Bros., so this design suits him very well! Rest assured, he can use Aether as well."

I'm literally crying right now. I love you Sakurai-senpai!

I put in the wrong main for Brawl. I put Snake even though I main Ike. Like, a lot. So you shouldn't be surprised if I fanboy over him when he's announced.

Ugh.

I think Ike has an original moveset and deserves to be in the game, but he seriously needs to be balanced. In Brawl, Tink v. Ike match-ups were insanely skewed in Ike's favor because of his high priority and weird hitboxes. So if they fixed that then that'd be great.

Now why would they change the heavy swordsman's outfit from blue to brown?
Maybe it's so he will be differentiated from the OTHER heavy swordsman that will be on the roster.....

Also, I'm calling it right now, no cuts besides the two Pokemon.

I didn't like Ike as much,mainly because he was kind of OP.

I kind of wish he would atleast get a tiny bit of nerf on his attacks.

I'll admit I didn't think he'd come back but here he is and while I haven't touched a single Fire Emblem game except for one of the GBA games, I do like this design especially compared to the one in Brawl, honestly that one looked a little dull in my opinion.
