Actually most polls I see have more people in Team Real than in Team Fake. Although the leak does have a lot of points going for it, it's still quite suspicious due to blurriness and people don't want to get their hopes too high.

Banjo-Kazooie is the only one of those (aside from the basically leaked Ken) that would be incredibly bizarre to be in as an Assist Trophy. For the others it is certainly credible for various reasons.

Out of no where reveal idea:
Sakurai: I know our slogan was Everyone is Here, but that is an impossible task for any one development team, so we are reaching out to you, the fans to finish our dream. Introducing the Ultimate Character Creator, where you can create your own Echo Fighters based on any character in the roster. *goes into details about this super indepth character creator* We will be continually adding features and cosmetics to allow you to further customize these fighters to and hope that with your help, truly everyone will be able to smash.

Hopefully this means Melee-style Echoes (where the moves themselves remain largely the same, but the character attributes and move properties can be heavily tweaked). Ultimate-style Echoes are... not all that different from their originals, with the exceptions of Chrom and Lucina.

The rest of the newcomers could be part of a super big trailer for the potential new story mode, if there is one.

If the leak is real, there's going to have to be a lot of characters sharing the same trailer.

I wouldn't exactly expect Ken and Shadow to be featured in any trailers though. They'll probably be revealed the same way Chrom and Dark Samus were.

Some insiders are saying they know that the mural is fake because they’ve been told by their sources that one unspecified character on the mural is actually an assist in the final game.

To add to this, Isaac, Shadow, the Chorus Kids, and Mach Rider have been accused of this within the last 24 hours, basically implying nobody has a clue who (if anyone) is supposed to be the AT and everyone is jumping on their personal opinions based on what they know otherwise.

I'd argue having Bomberman as an AT is incredibly bizarre already. But we got over that pretty quick after it was confirmed onscreen.

If B&K weren't initially part of the plan, but late in the game Phil Spencer & Co. approached Nintendo as part of their "make Xbox cool again" campaign they've been pushing, it's fully possible that they added them late as an AT. Would that satisfy their fans? Hell no. But it's plausible.

So I had the weirdest dream. I was watching the direct, I am at first disappointed when Banjo isn't confirmed. Later they get around to Diddy's final smash. I am shocked and appalled to see Dixie in the background, surgically turned into a walrus (a la Tusk) and I feel terrible for her, and mad at Sakurai.

You know, I never really considered the idea of a trailer like Brawl’s E3 2006 one, where Pit, Meta Knight, Wario, and Zero Suit Samus were all announced, in a setting that sort of alluded to Subspace Emissary.

If there’s a story mode (which i honestly doubt especially if there are nearly 75 characters), I could see there being a trailer in which Isaac, Geno, and maybe even Mach Rider are jointly announced.

Chorus Kids would feel really off though, and Banjo just deserves his own.

I don't even know anymore. After the crazy speculation train we all rode, I'd rather just know what happens. Spoilers actually will hurt me less than they usually would.

Its also because people believe Insiders, regardless of their track record. Some are good, some are iffy. All of them however are saying different things. This game surprisingly hasn't been heavily leaked aside from E3, save for Simon and Isabelle (and possibly Incineroar).

I'm personally banking on just nobody knowing crap about this direct or thinking they know things, especially since nobody truly leaked the August Direct (Simon was the only leak from months before). If the August direct has been safe, the November one also could be too.

***** is a generally trusted insider who post on resetera (formerly neogaf). They’ve leaked thing such as watch dogs 2, Splatoon 2 and were one of the people teasing Ridley. Recently they’ve made several posts hinting at Phoenix in smash, which could mean something. Also for some reason he always signs his posts with “balls”, not really sure why.

B&K had a big Ballot push, I'd guess.

They're more likely to host an online TestSmash sometime this month imo. Hope it's just the E3 demo with online functionality cause there's a lot of characters in there I can practice (but no Lucina).

I was just thinking, and a little connection came in my head.

Let’s say during this direct, they reveal all of the remaining characters. It’d make sense that they’d like to have all the promotional material with the newly completed banner ready to go right away.

The leak happened only about a week ago, meaning another assumed claim of the leak is that the mural was just printed a week ago, a week before the Smash Direct happened to be.

Hmmmmm....


And before anyone says they might have been printed much early, I doubt they’d just leave confidential and sensitive pieces just lying around like that in some guy’s office for no more than a day.

Yeah which is why I'm thinking the claims are bull in the first place, easiest way to say someone's not playable without giving any other info. With how scatterbrained these claims are you have to wonder if Nintendo doesn't have a gun pointed at everyone's heads.
