Same. It's most definitely fake, but I'd love more content for my 3DS.

I don't trust myself taking the Switch on the go, but my 3DS can survive getting run over by a truck. I take that thing on every train ride to and from work. Keep giving me new stuff to play on it and I will keep buying it.

Funny how we've gone on for months about the Squenix rep due to how incredibly protective Squenix has been of them, and now we're all accepting that it's Erdrick because some people say they're leaning towards him.

I personally think Erdrick's our rep, but just consider this.

What is it then? Literally the main mechanic is fighting. The VERY BASE MECHANIC is fighting. Everything in the game revolves around fighting. In order to win pretty much any mode, you have to fight. It is, for all intents and purposes, a FIGHTING game.

I wouldn't say he's one of the most popular. He's not a literal who, no, but he isn't some big name either. Especially not in a Smash context.

A huge part of that though is simply that they went for it first. When Capcom had a leg up on all the other fighting game developers, they pushed it, and became synonymous with the genre. Had they not pushed for the Marvel license to make Street Fighter vs. X-Men-- a very bizarre crossover when you think about it-- and continued to support and grow the crossover games, the whole "vs. Capcom" thing would've probably gone the way of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.

Gaming history is fascinating to me.

Unfortunately, I think a side effect of this is that it has always been at the expense of their own properties.

Capcom easily has enough properties and characters to support it's own Smash Bros. But because of the success of Marvel, they've never had the courage to really make a Vs. game on their own where they aren't splitting the roster with some other company.

Now, when they could be finding success with their own 3v3 Capcom Vs. Capcom game, they're instead saddled with compromise from having to constantly work around Marvels new, increasingly demanding requirements.

I was laughing at the reactions to the Pokemon Gen 8 titles, as if Game Freak wouldn't come up with silly names themselves. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were harmless, but the moves they came up with for Let's GO Pikachu and Eevee were narm-inducing. I wouldn't put it past them to name the new titles "Pokemon: Dark Past & Bright Future". It plays with time-travel just based on the names alone, it'd probably reference the fifth generation, and it'd most definitely tie in with the Sinnoh remakes (...right?).

Other than that, this is just a bunch of useless info until it's proven true. The funniest thing about this "leak" is that all of the characters mentioned are essentially JRPG characters. Going by the strong possibility that Smash DLC ends after the Fighter's Pass, it'd be weird making it exclusively about turned-based games. Still, I can see Nintendo revisit more DLC in the future as some have said on here. I'm not counting on it, but I'm not ruling it out either. KOS-MOS or not, I still want the Xenosaga trilogy. When the **** is it happening, Namco?

It's not like Pokémon hasn't dabbled in "Past and Future" themes before (White Forest and Black City), but still those name are kind of... uh...

The new Pokémon games are obviously going to be "Pokémon Town and City".

I mean I kinda agree, but at the least he represents an different aspect of the series, I think the main series of Mario games are represented well enough, either he, Paper Mario or Geno could represent the RPG aspect. Probably not for this fighter pack but if there’s more in the future then I’d be all for him.

the remake of superstar saga gives him extra screentime (honestly minion quest could probably be considered its own game for how in depth it is), and that's still two more appearances than geno

Also Fawful isn't really that popular in the grand scheme of the Mario series, but you can't deny that he's one of the most popular characters when looking only at the RPGs. Whether or not that's good enough for him to be in Smash is subjective (not like any character needs a reason tbh), but to say he's a literal who is really underselling him.

yeah he's a major villain in the two best regarded mario and luigi games. he's the actual main villain of what's generally considered the best one. in a smash context, geno is definitely a more popular option for a mario character, but in general i would say that fawful is more liked and remembered than him. fawful has lines that you can actually quote, that's more than you can say for geno

also yeah obviously i'm not saying he's more popular than most main mario characters, that's part of what makes this leak super fake. he's a character that won't be in smash until they've absolutely run dry of mario characters. mostly just trying to get over that saying fawful is a "literally who" character is factually incorrect
