Plenty of companies can compete with Nintendo. Hell, during the Wii U/Xbox One/PS4 era, Sony ran loops around Nintendo.
The next two points aren't even remotely valid complaints and are just what happens when you run a successful company.
The ESRB was better than the alternative of the government regulating games.
And then your garbage edgelord take on Mario and Zelda.

It isn't so much about Nintendo's reputation (in fact, their reputation was super bad before the Switch), it is the fact that Nintendo got boat loads of money from their previous success so they can easily tank some failure like the Wii U.
And frankly, Mario and Zelda is just your opinion, they are actually some of the most polished games in the industry.

I get you may not prefer (or even like) Nintendo, but I fail to see how you don't consider companies like EA even worse.

Mario and Zelda do not suck. They have sucky games, but those games only suck because they didn't have even a third the polish and care that goes into their best games, really the only reason to be disappointed in a specific Mario and Zelda game is because you know that Nintendo EPD can do much MUCH better. That's also why I'm so harsh on Pokemon nowadays, because honestly it just doesn't live up to what it could be, and what I've enjoyed in the past. But that doesn't mean that Pokemon "sucks".

Hey, that's fair. To be truthful, I don't really like the company either. Hell, if it wasn't for Hyrule Warriors, Smash 4, and Xenoblade X, I would've skipped the Wii U entierly, as that is their worst console.
I like Nintendo's games, namely Smash, Legend of Zelda, and Metroid, but I would not call myself a hardcore Nintendo fan at all.
And hey, I may not get why you don't like Zelda, but I'm also the guy that puts Persona along side games like DmC Devil May Cry, so I get not liking a series that's popular, even iconic.
