Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

This is cool but who's my octopus man in the back

Is that supposed to be Ken

If that's Ken I have several questions

She curses like a 9 year old who just discovered 4chan? Sweet!

I don't mind the D
Nah, imagine if that 9 year old grew up talking like that and this was just the way they are now.

Ken? Alt material (though at least they made him faithful to his source material.
>Points out character with the most differences of who they’re echoing and is even mentioned to maybe be a regular clone by Sakurai.

>Calls him alt material.

You also do know that Lucina and Chrom are echoes... right? And that you can merge them with their counterparts and aren’t even given their own number for the sake of preventing “X clone character shouldn’t be his/her own seperate character slot” to begin with.

This just comes off as baseless ranting more than anything.

You guys wanna hear a funny story?

So the College I wanna go to was holding an info night, basically a night where I could go ask questions and get some information. So I get ready, take two buses to get there, and walk right up to the front desk only to find out I missed it! It was yesterday! Isn't that funny? Isn't it hilarious how i'm so ****ing inept I missed something this important? Isn't it funny how ****ing useless I am? I don't even know why i'm trying to get in, i'll probably fail. Y'know, cuz i'm such a ****ing moron.

Anyway, what Spirit fights would you like to see?
Listen.

Back when I was a wee lad applying for college, I knew the application was due on the 31st. Being the responsible young chap I was, I decided to submit my application a few weeks in advance. I go to submit it, and what do I discover? The application was due on the 1st, not the 31st, and I'd missed it by just a few days.

I immediately called up the school and tried to explain the situation, but they were having none of it. I was upset at myself, at the school, at life in general. But that's life.

But now I'm currently in Hollywood working as a vfx artist on a pretty big project, and it's entirely thanks to that stupid mistake forcing me to attend my second choice school. Don't worry so much. You never know how things will work out.

Also, it feels like some people are exaggerating how obscure Banjo and Kazooie are. Not many are going to deny that Minecraft is ridiculously influential, iconic and popular, and fewer are going to argue Banjo is more popular than minecraft. But you can’t deny that, at least in the western gaming hemisphere, Banjo is a pretty popular character, at the very least familiar to most people who have an investment in games, and perhaps a few casual players too.
If you ask a casual gamer who he or she is more likely to recognize, between Banjo and Steve, Steve would be the overwhelming response. I think that's what Nintendo is aiming for with the DLC, and at the end of the day they're a business. It makes perfect sense to choose the character that would produce a bigger reaction and is more familiar to the average Nintendo fan. Banjo isn't a bad character, and his fans can continue to support him as much as they want, but all the hate I've seen thrown at Steve and his fans makes me want Banjo less.

Please do not post media-only replies. Please do not post images/animations that have a ton of extremely fast movement or flashing outside of spoilers(as it can cause epilepsy). Thank you~

As a lover of both characters I think one can understand you're objectively right.

Hitagi talked to me right now...

Said:

"all the stuff i got Bandai Namco doesn't point to a conclusion
so for all i know they could releasing false info
but
as far as my sources say
Agumon is a no
just think of me like Hand sanitizer right now"

"i killed 99.9% chance of it being true
but that .1%
could be a sliver of hope "

Did you read past the first sentence? I was pointing out that Vergeben is just that way. Even if he was 100% wrong all the time he would still be smug like that. He WAS that way in MvC:I Discussions. I'm not one to care about getting spoiled in games cause I'll play them either way but, dude, Vergeben is a real leaker but he's a real **** too.

He was REAL wrong about the MvC:I stuff but before that was proven he went on a rampage anytime would say they heard differently. Even if they were being civil. He wasn't. Vergeben might be a leaker but he's FAR from a role model. And, yeah, you're right, people shouldn't treat him as badly as they did but that doesn't excuse his actions when people were just geniunely questioning him. Verge just ain't a good dude.

It is rude to leak stuff to the public because that's hard work thrown out and he's not the first to do it, nor the last, but really people are making him out to be a deity when he is just not a cool dude. Everyone has their moments where they fly off the handles but Verge has an exceeding amount of them for no good reason.
Forgive me for joining the conversation but I am not sure I understand your point. You speak of how he is a rude and smug leaker. You also bring up the point about how shady and disrespectful leakers are for putting stuff online that doesnt legitimately belongs to him. But what does that change in the context of the quality of his leaks?

I find your argument about him being wrong in the past with leaking for other series more relevant to disproving his reliability than whatever characteristics he has a person. I think the reason are treating his word with such confidence is because he has been completely accurate with his smash information. In the grand scheme of things, isnt that what matters the most when it comes to people searching for leakers? Yeah, it is better to have a nice accurate leaker but I (and I asume most people) prefer an accurate leaker than a nice leaker.

He is also currently our biggest intermediary for information. Sometimes, in the profesional market, we have to put our feelings aside to work with people we dislike. This is just a similar case. Not always we can deal with people we like. We just have to move on and dont let them affect us. I hope you understand what I am getting at (and I hope my post doesnt sound rude).

Alright mods I'm gonna go offtopic here but I feel like I can contribute something worthwhile.

This is pretty similar to what happened to me. I was trying to switch majors in Uni and accidentally missed a deadline for tuition after I had been accepted in. One day I thought I was submitting my payment early only to find I was late by a week. School put me on the waiting list after I contacted them but I didn't get in again that year.

I felt like the absolute biggest waste of space in the world for not being able to follow a simple deadline. I felt like I wasted that year essentially due to a dumb mistake. I made the best of it, started working to build up some cash while submitting my applications for next semester.

The next year I got into the program and made some absolutely amazing friends while working on stuff I genuinely loved.

Not only would I probably have never met those people if my dumbass didn't make that mistake, but I grew as a person throughout the whole experience. It forced me to stop being so hard on myself when I made a mistake and to just accept my failures and learn from them.

It worked out yknow? I'm pretty happy now with where I am and I have no idea if I would've made it here without that.
