Chairs were referencing Animal Crossing's weird Color Palette for their furniture...basically it was hinting at Isabelle, alot of us just thought it was for Skull Kid

Reading the thread. Anybody who uses the "generic being of X species" argument against a character who isn't a "generic being of X species" but a character who is apart of said species and different enough to distinguish it from the rest of its species, design and personality wise, is either trolling or are just ignorant of the character they're arguing against.

Reading the thread. I mean, it is a valid opinion for why a fighter may not get in. It certainly diminishes chances of a character, but that doesn't mean they don't have a chance.
I mean, Bandana Dee is a different case, though.

I see this argument all the time and I'm not trying to knock you, but when you have to bring up stock ownership to tie a character/franchise to Nintendo it's not a good look.

Kind of reminds me of how many times I had to tell people Nintendo basically owned Monolithsoft because they kept saying Shulk was third party back in Smash 4.
It's a connection, it proves Nintendo has an interest in the franchise/company.

Almost every Nintendo series has oddly colored furniture.

If the new background means anything, it's hinting at Sora, and even then the symbol on the dice isn't 1:1 with the Nobody symbol after further inspection.

I can also say Banjo-Kazooie is coming based on that blue book in the same background with the odd chairs, since it seems to have Banjo and Kazooie on it but it's too blurry to tell for sure, and I'd rather not go back to believing these theories.

I'm surprised Rayman isn't being brought up a lot more. Nintendo has been partnering with Ubisoft a lot for several years now. It would make sense for Nintendo to want a Ubisoft character as DLC. They even published Rayman Legends in Japan, and added 3 Rayman trophies in Smash Wii U. There are also Rabbid spirits in Ultimate, so we know they've worked with Ubisoft on this game already, even if it is to a minor extent. Not to mention Rayman is a popular character with a notable amount of fan requests.

He may not be popular in Japan, but people are already willing to accept that a Japan only 3rd party character might potentially get in.

Purple Isabelle isn't a reference to anything, it's just a color palette for her.

I would say it wouldn't go for characters like Captain Toad and Bandana Dee, but for normal enemies (Piranha Plant still confuses me) It's a valid point.

I mean, we could use this logic to say Mario shouldn't be in because he's a human.

Maybe they can borrow stuff from Dragalia to make Katalina, like they borrowed from the other Namco games for Pac-Man or the Zapper games for Duck Hunt.

Man this made me realize that if a mobile game character does get in I hope one of their attacks has a "touch screen" type aspect for the sole reason of Zapper guy having a friend... Zapper guy needs the company

It's not the same at all though. The Xeno franchise was pretty much already a Nintendo owned one, Xenoblade was a Wii exclusive that was being ported to the New 3DS, and X was already announced as a Wii U exclusive.
The Granblue RPG and Fighting game might not even come to Switch, which only leaves Nintendo with indirect connections to the series.
