Can we have Fortnite in Smash just for this, please?

This reminds me of the absolute worst thing in Ultimate: Yoshi's Island (Melee) is a Yoshi stage, meaning that you cannot use Super Mario World music on a Super Mario World stage unless all the Super Mario World music is tagged as Yoshi series music.

Well, at least the Yoshi's Island Melee theme plays.. but this means no SMW boss theme on Yoshi's Island?

Meta Knight's mask got changed to have Darj MK's scar, so unless it adds tattered wings, scratches on the mask and recolours the sword then that's already covered

If this is confirmed, that's all I need, really. It'll still bother me that I can't use the Brawl arrangement of the title theme or the Smash 4 Mario World medley on that stage, but if I can at least use the Melee one, that's okay.

Yeah, but I doubt they did "the works" for him and went full in. I think the mask is the extent of the model changes.
Like the Galacta Knight skin doesn't have the horns.

I mean, I don't know about you guys but Piranha Plant seems like a "laugh him off" character when taking about "importance" or "relevancy", but looks stellar in the gameplay department.

I'd argue that's why, despite Piranha Plant being a generic enemy, it was picked over numerous others. While a Goomba is definitely iconic, it doesn't have as much to work with. They could slap a spike hat or wings on him for some attacks, but that doesn't really suggest a given playstyle like Piranha Plant seems to have.

I mean, at least when you look at it through the lens of gameplay. That kinda seems like what most of the conversations here are. It's like we're looking through different lenses and determining what makes certain things stand out over others.

In other unrelated news, I'm now at 407 responses to my poll. It was at a little less than 100 yesterday.

Definitely unfair to him as even if you DID have the "Other" option, Yoshi would slip people's minds because they would just associate Yoshi with Mario because a separate choice wasn't available...
