PapaGenos did get stuff right, even if what he said about the grinch leak was wrong, he pretty accurately leaked what Spirits mode was.
If we are to trust his Microsoft source that Banjo is in, I have a feeling that Minecraft is only a stage and Banjo is a character in the same pack.
We'll see though.

I'm guessing it'll be N64 era Banjo by default with blocky Banjo as an alt which would bo along with the Minecraft stage, if true

You know what, bait-and-switching people into thinking it's Steve and then revealing it's Banjo is EXACTLY the kind of thing I'd expect Sakurai to do. So if Steve and Banjo aren't BOTH coming, then it's likely that.

I like the art style. But the presentation from youtube made it look like a cheep phone game.
The art though looks very nice and the music is supposed to be top notch.
Looks like Final fantasy tactics. Or Octopath Traveler.

Well that's the thing with smash and even the rumors and speculation and leaks. Helps you discover new games and branch out a bit so that's pretty neat!

There's no such thing as a character that "deserves" to be in. At all. It's not a thing that exists. The only thing that qualifies a character to be in Smash is if it is a character from a videogame/game-related, has a Nintendo connection, and is fun.

To me, it sounds like he thinks that Minecraft content has to mean that we're getting a stage, music and a character.
I'm not totally sold on that idea yet personally, there's no rule that says it has to work that way.

Not THE creator, but he was in the PM staff alright. Though he did lead the 20XX dev team.

There's a lot of guns, but there's also the bows which could make her really standout. The rope arrow would be a sweet grab and a tether recovery, and there's also the fire, exploding and shield-breaking arrows. There's also the Mjolnir hammer, lots of grenades and the crossbow.

I wouldn't even be mad if they skipped the guns.

Hello everyone I am new to the Smash Boards. And in my personal I dont think Geno will be in. I think we will get another Square Enix character. I feel everyone expects Geno, however outside of Smash bros demand. Geno as a character is not very relative to the current times.

He hasnt had a game in a long time, nor do I think their will be a new Super Mario RPG. This is due to that I do not believe Nintendo will want competition to their Mario & Luigi RPG games. I think the next Squre Enix representative will follow the trend of 3rd party characters in Smash. They are popular and they are still relative. Also they are characters that represent the company that they come from. When I think of Geno, I dont see him representing Square Enix, in fact he most likely would be added to the Mario characters. This is just my opinion, but I think the next Square Enix character will be another character.

I might be right, but from what Verge claims, it’s likely not serious. I can assume from the least it could be a Mii skin. Sadly the Grandblue character seems real... hopefully the Squenix character is pretty hype, I mean Sora is still hype, you know. I’m also positive of Jin or Hehatchi dlc and possibly another Nintendo character. Likely to end this off, it’s gonna be a popular 3rd party that people want... so y’all better put some thought in it because the answer is obviously Kasama Kiryu lol

Yeah, hopefully that's what it is. Honestly, for Minecraft to be chosen over Banjo and Kazooie just personally doesn't sit well with me. It's my personal opinion, but Banjo having actual history and feeling like an actual Nintendo character is why I want him in the game. Minecraft is important, I get it, but I don't know how i feel about that character at all.

That's true.

A lot of us seem to think that the DLC packs are themed (which makes sense), but it's entirely possible that the individual elements of the DLC have nothing to do with one another.

Alright guys, I've got a theory on my hands.

In case you haven't noticed, it looks like they have shown off all of the Xenoblade music tracks.

Now something interesting I've noticed is that there aren't any music tracks from Xenoblade X; now why is that?

Well we know that the DLC characters will be accompanied with multiple music tracks. What if Elma was planned for DLC, so they purposely saved the Xenoblade X music tracks for her DLC pack?

Another interesting thing to note is that we have not seen Elma as a Spirt, or any Xenoblade X characters as Spirits for that matter. The fact that we haven't seen a single reference to Xenoblade X whatsoever is suspicious to me, especially with the large number of Spirits that have been revealed.

I’m gonna be real here, Steve doesn’t have that much brand appeal as literally any other thing in the game does. There’s not a lot of Steve merchandise compared to those of creepers and diamond swords... and people already make their own skins for Minecraft so nobody is really playing as Steve... though how much of a low blow would it be if Steve’s alts were Microsoft characters...

I think I saw a Skell as a Spirit, but yeah, Elma is looking likely.

I agree. I think Geno’s done. Square doesn’t stand to gain much from DLC for him.

It’ll be interesting to see who it turns out to be.

For the fighter pass, the characters I would like for DLC would be

1. Elma
2. Amaterasu
3. Shantae
4. Sora
5. Fjorm or 2B

The 5 fighters well most likely see:

1. Elma - Barely a sign of XBX content in Smash, except for a formula Skell, Sakurai is fond of Xenoblade he wouldn't just ignore a part of it outright. Even if Sakurai wanted to give small recognition to XBX as a little shout, why not use Elma the main character or her other comrades?

2. Sora - With rumor of Sora being revealed at the VGA, Vergeben saying a SE character is coming to DLC, and his presence being in Smash would hype most fans, I wouldn't doubt our Keyblade warrior chances just yet.

3. Shantae - *surrounded by mob with torches and pitchforks* N-now hear me out *poke* Ow! Okay, okay, despite Shantae being revealed as a Spirit, WayForward is still being oddly quiet still about Shantae and not answering question about her pertaining to playable status, as if they are still under NDA or DLC negotiations.
What reason would they need to be quiet still unless there is more to Shantae's presence in Smash than meets the eye? Also just because a character is a Spirit, doesn't mean they're disconfirmed in fact they're in a better position then AT's or Mii Costumes. Spirit are substitutes for trophies, and who was a trophy for Smash 4 then became DLC? Mewtwo.
