Rayman 30% He isn't too big in Japan, I think that hurts his chances...
Rex 80% He seems obvious
Sora 50% It could go either way, rights can be an issue, that being said, he's highly requested...
Springman 90% He seems almost obvious
Tails 40% If Shadow is getting as Sonic's Echo. I doubt we're getting another Sonic Rep
Anyways, Rate these DLC Character's chances and explain why:
-Crash Bandicoot
-Steve
-Ryu Hayabusa
-Elma
-Octoling
-Gen 8 Pokemon
-Bandana Waddle Dee
Crash Bandicoot: 35%, Activision is on the war path to making Crash a household name again and Smash is an easy path to that, plus he has quite the history and iconography behind him. While he does have a fair bit of momentum in the west, I'm not sure if there's really any demand in Japan, otherwise he would be higher
Steve: 25%, while he is quite the icon and Microsoft may already have Banjo in the game, he has a semi-significant hatedom behind him, so I don't know if he'll be prioritized over characters that are requested.
Ryu Hayabusa: 20%, he is about as big as Simon and Mega Man, but there's not as much request to have him in the game. I'm also not sure if the legal dealings with Koei Techmo would justify it.
Elma: 5%, I think the focus is fully on Xenoblade 2 at this point. Perhaps a hypothetical Switch port could get some focus on back on the Xenoblade X cast, but it's going to take a lot to get out of 2's shadow.
Octoling: 60%, this feels so easy and obvious to do. Octolings are popular and more echoes are never a bad thing. The only thing I'm concerned about is how to monetize an echo, as $4.99 for what is essentially a glorified skin is a little ridiculous and would not go over well. Perhaps as a bundle with a full character?
Gen 8 'mon: 10%, Gen 8's not coming out until late 2019, so any Gen 8 Pokemon will only be eligible towards the end of the DLC cycle (if its still even going then). I honestly think we're much more likely to get a Gen 7 Pokemon in DLC.
Bandana Waddle Dee: 90%, he's the most likely DLC fighter in my opinion. Assuming Grinch is real, then he's the last character who did really well in the ballot to not be in the game. This essentially puts him into a league of his own. Provided he doesn't have a role in the role game (which even then may not be the death sentence it was in Smash 4), I fully expect him to be the first DLC character and would be shocked if he is not in the DLC
