So... what Did I miss?

Consider the following: Showing absolutely nothing for a month (after a month that only had one reveal going for it), then having a Direct with the rest of the newcomers in it for the next month is, from a certain point of view, technically slowing things down. Things can't go much slower than this without risking having Spirits spoiled.

Besides, Pokemon Let's Go will likely get marketing next month.

That is one possible meaning, given that the two Smash announcements were just a month apart.

Still, why they'd wait this long to announce anything is a little confusing. It seems like Directs are pretty leak-resistant, given that only Simon was leaked beforehand from the August Direct, and everything else was completely unexpected. I imagine Sakurai works closely with the footage gatherers and editor on those, so it's a small, tight-knit team who has access to all the info, rather than a wide group of people.

Whereas dozens and dozens of random people in marketing needing to get their hands on stuff is clearly much less safe. And the closer we get to release, the more and more information gets in the hands of those people. Like, say, a clip of a possible Golden Sun item accidentally getting into a video promoting something that's otherwise completely not worth anyone's time.

And also the ESRB and other ratings boards, though I imagine Nintendo will be breathing down their neck this time around.

Golden Sun is pretty fun, though it does show age in various areas.

It's kinda funny, this year I played two cult classic JRPGs for the first time. Golden Sun and The World Ends With You, both couldn't be anymore different from each other.

Clearly this trailer image has been cropped at the top but either way the cloud should be visible above Bayo's gun and to the left of her cape.

Wtf is going on since I’ve been gone? Something about etika’s channel being shut down and now he’s possibly having suicidal thoughts? O_o

I might not have liked his videos too much as his reactions often felt fake, but I never saw anything really offensive on em that would cause em to be shut down.

Hope he’s ok, someone might need to check on him in person if they can. Also try to help him realize suicide is not the answer.

Well to be fair one of the biggest points against the leak was the inconsistent background.

This could prove that the backgrounds themselves are also liable to changes, which would in turn render the inconsistent background meaningless.

Any sort of divisive anything is going to cause toxicity, that's just how the internet is. The Grinch leak has been very entertaining in a pretty boring time of speculation and I welcome it with open arms real or fake.
That said, I would gladly replace this week with another one of straight box conversations if it meant Etika was doing better

I’m gonna be real, even if that is proof, it doesn’t really back up the drastic changes that the leaked background and the E3 background have. There’s a lot of inconsistencies and on my end it seems like the leaked background is less detailed than the real art.

I guess I haven't actually thrown in my 2 cents on the Sprout leak thing. I genuinely don't think the sprout is even related, but I have a strong desire to try out Golden Sun now. Those are my 2 cents thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

The last few days have been pretty crazy around here. Yet it seems like little was actually determined. Though the revelation of this mystery item does make the plot thicken a bit more. I am I'm a bit bias towards Isaac inclusion and he was even my vote in the original ballot. Though I do my best to keep that bias under control and not jump to conclusions. I will continue to watch the situation with interest lol.
