Nostalgia is a powerful thing, man. Mario Kart DS was one of my favourite games as a child so I was super hyped to see him in Brawl. He was my secondary behind ICs and my main in Smash 4.

Ultimate will be ROB, ICs and King K Rool all the way.

I would've probably liked it more, if it had a better roster, and if it had more effort put into it...

Ok but as far as how good a character is it's pretty much a fact that Marth>Lucina any pro will tell people that. Its proven mathematically. Lucina is still very viable but no where near Marth.

My issue with PSASBR is that it just isn't fun. Movesets don't matter when you can only kill with Supers so the whole game revolves around that. Parappa can win without ever hitting a single normal because he has a move that builds meter on its own.
The roster is meaningless to me, I have Raiden so I'm good.

I believe that Ryu's opposite facing bair pressure can still be accomplished without issue.
Auto turnarount pretty much makes him beat any ledge getup option now, since he can spam lights without the opponent being able to cross him up (since it corrects it automatically)

Ay a Rob and IC Brawl mainer. ROB falls at the tail-end of SM4SH mains for me, might not survive as one with all the characters I want to try in Ultimate

So with release rapidly approaching, was curious to see opinions on this. Would you rather....

Have a direct today that shared every bit of information that's left?

No more information and everything else is a nice surprise at release?

While a surprise would be nice, no way I could say no to all the information. I hate not knowing things!

I would go with a direct today that added a nice pin on a few final newcomers and what the secret mode is and maybe some extra stuff...and then kept in some fun surprises and unlockables in release like how Smash 4 had Duck Hunt and a few others.

Can you imagine if there was a weird semi-playable Assist Trophy mode? At least the viable ones. Like how the Wireframes or Sandbag in Melee had minor moveset available via hacking. Something something "every fighter's design revealed before release" and all that. I don't know. Just spitballing wild ideas.

I love him and how he plays; he just unfortunately struggles with all the top characters too much at times. He's looking better now though.

We've got NES, Famicom, Pink and Light Blue so far.

Interesting question for everyone:
Are there any veteran characters that you might consider maining in Ultimate, despite barely touching them before, because changes in their moves or changes in game mechanics/physics?

For example:
: The removal of the stamina mechanic, as well as the faster speed of the game overall, (and I’m not 100% on this but some moves might’ve changed?) makes me want to try to pick up specifically Squirtle or Ivysaur, with both seeming to be fun to play as, considering the fact I usually play quick and fairly light (not too light) characters.

That's part of the reason I played him too! I loved him in MKDS and had a ROB as a kid so he became my main instantly. So happy about him in Brawl which is why it's hilarious to hear people hated him so much. I don't get it.

I'm pretty sure Alexis Tipton voices her now. Laura Bailey kinda quit imported stuff. Apparently dubs pay way less than Western-made stuff.
