Nothing too major, but I think Impa deserved the spot more for being more prevalent in the Zelda series.

Now to get REAL controversial: Remove , Add KOS-MOS.
I have nothing against Metal Gear, but if I had to go w/ one Konami series for Smash, it would be Castlevania.
KOS-MOS shouldn't be too surprising of a pick if you know me by now (or if you look at my signature).

*GASP!* WHen I saw this message without the context I was afraid that Phoenix Wright had been announced as an Assist Trophy. When Capcom said this would be a big year for Ace Attorney fans, they better not be trying to shill an AT after they've failed to provide anything else concrete and exciting for veterans this year as they promised. :U

I tried to do that characters would take the same amount of effort as the ones I cut. Dark Pit is an echo, so replace him with an echo. Dr Mario & Young Link are semi clones, so replace them with other semi clones.

It probably isn't his trailer, but I don't think it's supposed to be a render image or anything like that. That model could be applied to anywhere - it could be on an unrelated loading screen, it could be apart of that super secret mode (story mode cutscene? talksprite? menu render? smash run???)
It's definitely the best looking Geno model I've seen - I wish it was true for that fact alone. Every other model just looks... wrong.

Even though the hype season for this game has been pretty weak (thanks vergeben), I think it's a good tradeoff for getting a great game in the end. Brawl and Smash 4 had amazing pre-release hype season, but the games themselves were quite underwhelming. Brawl has the slowest gameplay in the series, and Smash 4 had a signficant lack of game modes.

No one should be sold on it. The victory screen Geno is horrifying.

But the fact remains that sassy Geno (I coined this name, it's my baby of a leak now, I have adopted it as my favorite) is one of the most likely suspects for the rumored true leak.

I just can't accept that pretty much all of this game's character renders have them posed in ways that express their personalities well while being visually interesting, and then you just have Banjo snarling at a smug Kazooie. It doesn't look or feel right.

Well kazooie did know how to push banjos buttons though, she’d peck his head in their idle animation and laugh about it, she’d say some VERY suggestive and cheeky things to either embarrass banjo or frustrate him and everyone around. I’d say it’s quite a believable image of him. It doesn’t look lik he’s about to rip her to shreds, more him being annoyed by her antics, which is something he was occasionally known to express in the original games but the hardware wasn’t good enough yet to show it, so you needed to rely on what their dialog said.

You dudes have to have some more faith in Ultimate's designers and Sakurai himself if you think they'd give the O-K on such an ugly model.

Probably since it only took like a couple of hours to unlock all the characters in Smash 4; there were only 8 (12 in 3DS). In my opinion, unlocking characters just wasn't as impactful in Smash 4 as it was in Melee or Brawl.

Not that I disagree but I just can't see Sakurai/the art team picking those expressions for this game considering how much art of Banjo-Kazooie has them looking upbeat and raring (HA) for adventure.

Yeah, initially I thought "I can find some promo art where he looks like that", and initially thought it was possible because of "Smash Face" (like the face Mario does when demonstrating Tournament Mode). But as "the render" (though, to be fair, it could be an initial design for something else, rather than the official render) it seems like an odd choice. Still, there are other things that debunk it such as freckles, misalignments, and the promo comparisons. I just wish we had more to go off if "ruffled some feathers" could be a hint as papagenos suggested as a possibility.

Fair, but I could also still see them use one like that.

Of course just like geno, so long as they get in I’ll be happy.

Really I only want 3 more characters in smash
Geno
Banjo and kazooie(ok so technically they’re two characters)
Isaac(mostly for the Isaac fans themselves and less for me as I’ve never played a gs game)

After that I could care less who else gets in.

Unless they add a Cartoon character like goku...
