Little update about the 'Bar theory', Arcade Mtl just posted:

It basically says: ''The game (that will be showcased) will be revealed tomorrow. Note that streaming will not be allowed. Therefore, what happens at Arcade MTL stays at Arcade MTL''

I don't really know if this means anything, just wanted to share the info. People in the comments seem to be hoping for a Direct or a demo event.

I'm not sure but it feels like they're are going to announce a new Switch game or something... tbh idk

The no streaming makes me think it's just the Ultimate Demo...but why so secretive.

Maybe it's an updated demo with new characters, possibly even an unnanounced one. (Or maybe they're being secretive because it's good publicity and seems to be working for them).

If this stuff is true, it could be the Square Enix Rep Verge mentioned. Verge said that SE isn’t keeping a tight lid on whoever that is, so if that got leaked, that could be the one freaking Nintendo out.

Here are all of the "Leak" that I can see, that could "Ruffle feather" internally. So, let's go!

- The Celica leak from 4chan, who got Simon, Isabelle right and said that Celica and Geno were in.
-The 'Sassy Geno" a single picture from 4chan who said "risk everything by posting this" it's a high quality Render, but we should be careful, especially with that nice Isaac render from the Isaac website leak.
- Hashimoto, co-creator of KH, deleted Tweet about saying "Yes!" to someone asking for Sora in Smash
-Dante's ingame blurry picture with the Dante Leak supposedly in the Pokemon stage? I think?
- Spawn Wave who say that there is BIG NOISE about the first Smash DLC being announced at the VGA, that LeakyPandy (as **** as they are, they could get something right) also talk about

Whoever it is, I think it's a character not commonly seen in rumors. Considering that this character was suppose to surprise people based on nintendo's wording. I definitely think it's a non-Geno 3rd party character.

Yeah pretty much Wanderer from Fallout confirmed for Smash. Dog Meat is an Assist Trophy.

I mean, I'll be as Sassy as the Geno by saying that Geno ain't really the hardest character to model though. Anyone with like, 4-5 months of 3D experience could do it.
It's a good Quality render in any case...Just nothing "incredible" to fake

A bit more willing to trust then I am with Loz but still gonna tread cautiously. It may be the Sassy Geno leak, or Steve.

That's not a leak, though, just a mess-up on Nintendo's part for not censoring it the best way they could. It also doesn't spoil anything within the mode, as we don't know what it would be.

Of course, but with the fine wood texture and lighting, making it seem to fit Ultimate very well, I'm just hopeful it ends up real.

Alright, here's a recap for those (like me) who missed out (with sources!).

Tansut from ResetEra (who supposedly leaked Cloud) said there's a leak out there that hasn't recently ruffled some feathers.

He then said it wasn't Ken, and that he has some idea who it is, but he's not sure outside that it was probably an image leak to spur internal discussions, but knows it's a leak that got out recently (within a month or so).

Could be. I don't know, the secrecy is what makes me think it's going to be a new game... maybe a new 'made in Quebec' indie game (they've showcased local indie games in the past...).

I'm pretty sure it's not a direct viewing event/party now... the 'no streaming allowed' makes no sense for a direct that is on live stream anyway.

I take it you have no issue with games like God of War, Mortal Kombat, or the Friday the 13th games that go all in on depictions of graphic violence, but show a little ankle and youre tying folks to the stake..

Alright, here's what I gather from Tansut. He probably legitimately leaked Cloud, as the times and what he said seem to be too coincidental to not have had prior knowledge. So probably trustworthy.

That being said, looking at his statements and how he stated them--if I had no clue who he was, he sounds like someone bored of the current discussion and decided to "ruffle up some feathers" himself, and perhaps see people debate over prior leaked images. The fact he conceded that he didn't think the consequences through after being scolded on it, leads me to think that might be the case.

That's my hunch, but given he has leaked things in the past legitimately, I think we should keep an eye on him.

EDIT: Also I should add he's one of those "hinty" leakers, that I generally don't trust. Either you think the information is important to get out, or you don't and should shut up. My general philosophy on hinty leakers.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm gonna make some ridiculously hard predictions.

As we move further and further into the months with the Direct being out and us knowing the roster, people are gonna move from believing the Vergeben Team to Spawn Wave. The former had info based off of pre-project plan info supposedly, but Spawn Wave's sources have the major upper hand with being in the know of what's happening currently, by either a month or status time.

Once they find out who the character is, they'll give full confirmation that The Game Awards will have a DLC reveal for Smash Ultimate, but John (Spawn Wave) will of course, have to say this in a VERY delicately worded way when he releases a video like every other leak so that speculation won't be sullied or his relationships with Nintendo aren't sullied either. (By the way, apparently that French Smash Bundle leak was actually true.)

I would assume other people who are in the know in his podcast, SpawnCast, will also know about it, as there was a previous SpawnCast where someone alluded - and pretty much confirmed - the original September Nintendo Direct broadcast date, so something could also happen during his podcasts.

So something will happen where he'll either release a Rumor Wave video or a guest on his podcast will allude to a reveal. Either way, the only people that I would say has "solid credibility" would be the Vergeben Team and Spawn Wave.
