I don't think he specified, but I may have forgotten while reading through stuff; however, I can't see why they'd freak out over a text leak when there are a bunch of them with the same characters and such that can easily be made up in a minute, so I'd assume it's an image leak that's actually from the game.

No the picture is independent of the Agnes hoax. It could be real and slipped in to blend with the hoax and not be detected by Nintendo until now. Have there been general game leaks where one fake rumor started only to have an independent real leaker slip in things to "bandwagon" off of it to not be detected?

Again, this goes to my point about people giving conflicting information. They say what they think he said without actually referring to where he said it to verify it (or screencap if that's not possible). So, I'm just gonna assume he's a "ghost" leaker.

Hot take: I don't want Celica because she always gets pushed over Alm despite him having more story significance. The two are meant to be a pair like Mario and Luigi or Sonic and Tails. And yet Celica has three versions in Heroes and got to solo rep Gaiden in Warriors, while Alm has one version in the former and doesn't appear at all in the latter. I'm pushing for Black Knight because I want an armoured villain that I can feel cool about, and not let Alm get left out of his pair again.

Alm and Celica are equally important for Shadows of Valentia, the Mario & Luigi and Sonic &Tails comparison fails because those aren't equal relationships, Mario and Sonic are the clear main characters and Luigi and Tails are their sidekicks, respectively.
However, Celica edges out above Alm for some factors:
1) Her main weapon is actually magic. While both use Swords, Alm is much more reliant on them and Bows don't come into play until promotion(and it's not like it's plot relevant nor is he highly skilled with it). Celica's combat capabilities haven't been explored as much as Alm's not to mention her White Spells are completely unrepresented.
2) Celica is a female character, which are under represented in both Smash as a whole and FE's own representation within it.
3) Celica is more popular. Just look at CYL2.

To be fair there's a difference between "ruffled feathers" internally and not taking action and taking action.
My problem is with how no one's even discussing WHO this guy is.

Yeah, I feel like I'm the only one who learned in school how to cite sources. A lot of the confusion and conflicting information could be cleared up by saying who he is ("some guy" doesn't suffice) and citing where they said it so there's one source to go to, and not multiple "he said, she said" to reference.

Yeah I was just ranting, not trying to state facts. I'm well aware of Celica's popularity and I do like her myself (though I recall a lot of surprise over her winning CYL2). I just want Alm to get some love as well man.

Yep. It was ruined by the accent in her name being totally wrong and it tried to change it like nothing was totally wrong. What's weird is that there was a Smash 4 leak of Agnes too, and it also got the accent wrong. Weird trivia for you.

At this rate, I think I might rather they just announce the Smash Direct very soon. Reveal the rest of the characters and whatever else is left to offer. And then announce a Global Smash Testfire for the final month of November before release the month after.

The longer they hold off, the more likely the beans will be spilled by opportunist leakers looking for their 15 minutes of fame, especially when the game goes gold.

But that's just me...

Trophies, classic mode, spirits mode can all hold their own secrets that I doubt Nintendo will spoil, so I don't mind spoiling all the pokemon, AT's and characters.

I try not to argue importance when it comes to people's favorite characters. Hawke from Dragon Age 2 is my favorite player character, not just in Dragon Age, but in anything. And I've had to endure the "yeah but the Hero of Ferelden/Inquisitor" talking-down-to for the better part of seven years.

I was absent and I didn't read all the discussion, but I think someone "credible" said that Nintendo is in trouble because of a leak that people overlooked but it's legit? What?

Well, I don't know if this is true or what, I don't know anything about this really, I just read about it 2 minutes ago... but those are my guesses:

-The Japanese Playlist leak (the fact that it's updated 10 days before a Direct, and people noticed it; maybe Nintendo delayed the Direct because it was "leaked" this way).

-That Karate Joe leak where someone posted photos of the memories post from the Blog, with detailed pictures of the box of the game and the manual (and the stickers that came with it). This is the only leak that was credible and was never debunked aside of being ignored after Isabelle was announced instead of him.

I don't know what else could be.

EDIT:
Or maybe it's just the Spirit Mode; the name of the mode was found by removing the blur from a censored picture and maybe they didn't expect that to happen.

I mean, I don't mean to by that guy, but the leak was pretty much confirmed when Nintendo took down videos of the Shulk and Bowser Jr. footage.

Actually, the videos got taken down that had Bowser Jr. in 'em pretty quickly.

But otherwise, yep. They don't often take down leaks. Though they do go after Youtube videos instead. Being it also validated the Bowser Jr. gameplay leak, they're in a pickle. Either they leave real footage up that nobody is sure of or remove it, validating it's real. Lose/lose situation on their part.
