Games that I was extremely hyped for aside from Smash? As a diehard Sonic fan and Pokémon fan, this is easy:

Sonic Generations: What levels were going to appear, what bosses we’d get to fight, the mystery of who/what was the Time Eater, etc. It was the culmination of 20 years, and it was worth the wait.

Pokémon X and Y: Pokémon... IN 3D?!?!?! It might’ve not been the best Pokémon game in hindsight, but the idea of Mega Evolutions, the brand new Fairy type, horde battles, character customization, wondering what the starters would evolve into, and once again A FULLY 3D GAME sold me and everyone else on it. It was hype as **** and a super fun wait period.

Pokémon ORAS: Ruby was my first Pokémon game ever, and it’s near and dear to me still to this day. Everything that was being revealed about the game was so right to me, from the character redesigns (Brawly not wearing just generic clothes, Archie actually looking like a pirate, Maxie looking like an evil scientist rather than a weird priest), the music remixes, the new Mega Evolutions, Dex Nav, the Primal Forms, and Delta Episode. Even though it didn’t have the Battle Frontier, I loved just about everything that was in ORAS and kept playing it for months.

Sonic Mania: A classic style Sonic game with extremely good looking gameplay, very clean pixel graphics, beautifully animated trailers, and the ability to play as characters OTHER THAN SONIC AFTER SO LONG was everything I needed. Everything that wasn’t revealed before release were wonderful surprises, and the game went somewhat above my expectations.

Pokémon Sun and Moon: Basically the same as X and Y, but Alolan Forms instead of Mega Evolutions, and figuring out what the **** the Ultra Beasts were.

Sonic Forces: What a let down. The fan base was hoping for this to be basically Generations 2, along with a hopefully good and original story, a potential link to Mania aside from Classic Sonic just playing like he did in Mania, a custom character that wasn’t just yet another Sonic, brand new and interesting zones/levels, etc. It was so promising, but Sonic Team failed to meet expectations. We weren’t expecting Adventure 3, but at least something that wasn’t a disappointing and somewhat rushed mess.

Well, here's another update about this whole thing. Take it for what you will, but I think credibility just took a bit of a hit. Now we just don't even know anymore.
At least it's a Tuesday, so that means we get to see more music. A saving grace for today on new info, yeah?

I didn't want people to instantly jump to conclusions but I suppose I didn't think it through terribly well. I was just excited to talk about something else in a thread I always enjoy reading.

My hope was to simply say that there is a leak out there that is actually probably legit, because I wanted to see if we can narrow it down or pick apart pics we may have dismissed too easily.

I apologize for any heightened emotions already and just ask again that ya'll take a breath and calm down.

He knows bit of information. He's being vague on purpose. He doesn't know what leak EXACTLY it is. But he knows it's not the Ken leaks and that people are freaking out internally

From what I can gather (and remember), during the Smash 4 days he made some comments that seemed like jokes, but were actually hints towards Cloud and his release date. So he would definitely have some kind of info.

My problem is everybody's referencing "him" and as a "credible guy". What's his name or moniker, where does he post, or are there screencaps to verify? Any affiliations, or is his credibility just by his "record"? Otherwise I'm going to have to trash it regardless of how "credible" people say he is. A source can't be trusted if they're a "ghost".

EDIT: Also with all these conflicting statements about what "he said"--this is precisely why knowing who a source is is often more important than what they said.

that was in the Brawl days though, 4 onwards typically don't cram newcomers together unless they're from the same series (/, /:ultrobin, /)

So here are the following franchises with playable fighters that don't have any assist trophies yet in Ultimate:

No idea what they could do for , , , , or .

might be the Polar Bear, but he's already in the Summit stage & a part of Popo/Nana's final smash.

I could see the one be King Hippo (who could also appear as a boss in Spirits)

The one for could either be Chun-Li, Guile, or Blanka.

I don't know my too much, but it could either be a Black Mage, Tifa, Barret, or Sephiroth (who also might be a boss)

The most interesting one out of all of these is (considering how the two from Sm4sh (Mangus and Phosphora) are missing). Either they're playable (which sounds unlikely at this point), they're still in but haven't been shown off yet or they've been replaced by someone new. Perhaps it could be Hades and/or Medusa (who might be a echo instead)? Or it might just be someone else

Hot take: I don't want Celica because she always gets pushed over Alm despite him having more story significance. The two are meant to be a pair like Mario and Luigi or Sonic and Tails. And yet Celica has three versions in Heroes and got to solo rep Gaiden in Warriors, while Alm has one version in the former and doesn't appear at all in the latter. I'm pushing for Black Knight because I want an armoured villain that I can feel cool about, and not let Alm get left out of his pair again.

Kamek is already a major element of the Mushroom Kingdom U stage. Poochy could be an Assist Trophy, though. Maybe ride him like Gogoat? Have him dig up different items around the stage?

Favorites, huh? Here we go. I don't care that this discussion ended a few pages ago lol.

- To the surprise of nobody, Chrom takes first place. He's my favorite lord in all of Fire Emblem, and my favorite video game character over all. He's got a fantastic design and color scheme, he's voiced by veritable voice acting god Matt Mercer, he gets access to swords and lances, letting him have non-swordlocked enemy phase through the use of javelins and spears, he gets one of the coolest looking weapon upgrades with the Exalted Falchion, he fully exemplifies Awakening's theme of bonds and comradery, and he's a great dad. That's just scratching the surface, too. Roy's our boy, but Chrom's the bomb.

- My fifth favorite Fire Emblem character and my third favorite lord. Marth is truly a great character who gets called bland far more often than he should. I will die on the hill of Shadow Dragon being a fantastic game and among Nintendo's most underrated titles. The writing is phenomenal, and Marth is a huge part of that. He loses everything before slowly taking everything back. He's sharp, surprisingly witty, has great chemistry with Caeda, and delivers some of the best lines in the game. The "I am a prince before I am a son or a brother" scene especially. He's a beacon of hope in a world without it. I'm thrilled he finally has his official English voice in Smash, too.

- I love Punch-Out!!, seriously. The games are fun and quirky puzzle games in the form of a boxing game. I also love a good underdog story, and the pseudo-father/son relationship he has with Doc Louis, especially in the Wii game, is heartwarming. Plus Punch-Out!! itself is ludicrously iconic for an NES game, at least here in the US. Thanks for that, Mike Tyson. Fun fact: he and Chrom were my most wanted newcomers for Smash 4. Still wish aerial Jolt Haymaker got un-nerfed. make a new Punch-Out!!, Nintendo.

- Mewtwo Strikes Back was my jam growing up. Mewtwo is the OG Legendary, and the guy you save your Master Ball for. I was so sad when he was cut from Brawl, and even sadder once I knew he almost made it. But hey, it made 50 Facts all the better. "MEWTWO IS ON THE WAY!" was one of Smash 4's best moments. His neutral air is also The Best™. Him being revealed early on at E3, before the "Everyone is Here," definitely made me breathe a sigh of relief.

- It's-a him, Mario. I've always liked Mario, so much so that Super Mario Bros. 3 was one of the first games I ever played and remains one of my favorites to this day. It's pretty much the perfect 2D Platformer. Plus Mario himself is fun, whimsical, and well-designed. I still wish he had a unique mechanic in Smash where his footstool jumps did damage.

- Man was I happy when Greninja got in. He was my Kalos starter of choice, and one of my favorite starters in general. He's really fun to play, too. I just wish I were better at playing him. Greninja strikes a great balance between a cool design and a dorky one, which is great to me. Yeah, he's a mysterious ninja, but his tongue is his scarf and he sounds like he's gargling motor oil. I love him. Also his taunts are 10/10.

- I love Olimar. He's a great character, going by his mission logs in the Pikmin series. A middle-age family man who gets far too little respect at his job, and the reason why Hocotate needs OSHA. I wish he had his voice in Smash though. He's got a great bass voice, coming from someone who sings bass. His design is so quirky and wonderful too.

- Honestly how could you not love Pac-Man? He's great. The original game, the Google version, Pac-Man World 2...he's a charming character. Look at his little wink and thumbs up. Wakawakawaka.

Are we sure that isn't a general Magikoopa? There's barely any difference in their designs. At least outside of the rpgs.

I think the problem here is that take Smash 4's "leaks", and multiply that by fifteen and throw in some Theory Spice, and you get Smash Ultimate's cycle.
There is such an insurmountable amount of text and images leaks at this point, we don't know what's real or fake.

At this point, we might as well just go back to waiting for the upcoming 2nd Direct that'll no doubt happen and if anything happens, take with a grain of salt.

I was asking about his Smash 4 list, but yes he made two. I feel that Del's predictions are the most likely to come true, seeing as how spot on most of his Ultimate predictions were.
