tbh, Legendary Godzilla is my favorite design.

All four designs plus Shin are good tho

There's actually a lot more than four.

Showa era, while the same creature, has multiple different suit designs.
Heisei era too, but not as much.
Millennium era had different Godzillas with different designs.

Just spitballing here, but Godzilla's stage could be a miniature city with the fighters looking like giants on it. You could destroy little buildings and stuff; it'd be pretty neat haha.

God, Shin Godzilla. Man I really liked that movie, even though I had to use subtitles. Still wondering what they've got planned with that incarnation of the King of the Monsters.

It was a one off movie.

Tail too long and legs too stubby.

Also that design is owned by Warner Bros., so there would be more legal hurdles as compared to any of the Toho Godzillas.
The reason why 1998 Godzilla (or "Zilla") is fine is because the rights to that creature belong to Toho now.

Godzilla 2014's design is co-owned by the two, and will probably stay that way until the Legendary Pictures MonsterVerse ends and the contract with Toho expires.

"μ-form Stages"! ("μ" is the Greek letter "mu", which means "micro" in the International System of Units)

Micro Stages use their base stage's aethestic, but make them much smaller to make the characters look like giants.

Godzilla isn't a manga character.

....and would be easier to get in Smash than Goku since Nintendo would just have to work with one company (Toho).
One company that would be fine with it as long as they get proper payment. :V

μ-form Stages + Custom "Giant" Smash + only Mega Mushrooms on very high = Sight I want to behold.

Not really sure what exactly Bowser is meant to be, but Godzilla is usually just either:
A. A dinosaur that survived extinction and has lived in isolation for ages only for nuclear radiation transforming him in some way.
B. A creature/dinosaur from ancient times.
C. Something else, like A monster brought back from the dead by the souls of the vengeful deceased, or something weird like... Well, Zilla doesn't count as a Godzilla either way.

Being a famous and popular character over in Japan, existing since 2001 and continuing to be popular, making multiple crossovers, collaborations, and spin-offs with other major franchises and companies, and even being worthy enough to appear in Mario Kart alongside Pac-Man.

I'm willing to bet this wacky thing will appear alongside Pac-Man in Smash too.
