Guys, Smash bros is like less then 60 days away so even if we don’t get a Direct for Smash we still get a new Smash Bros with 60+ characters, 100+ stages and many more things that this game will be lasting for a long time.

Also, I hope we get Toon Zelda & Ganondorf because it would be pretty awesome to have more toon characters.

You know, I always wondered why is Lucario (one of) the only Pokemon whose entrance isn't it coming out of a Poke Ball? Even Pikachu, the face of the franchise, has to share its intro with most of the rest of the Pokecast?

Because he's basically Goku and Goku probably wouldn't come out some dude's smelly prison orb

Honestly, the most plausable characters I'd like to see in Ultimate are Elma and Ryu Hayabusa.
EDIT: Leon Kennedy and Dante as well.

Would be totally down for that Ryu.

Honestly, I think Ryu Hayabusa is the sleeper character next to no one here is expecting. Not only is he massively iconic, popular, and satisfies next to all the fan-rules here, he already has a moveset that can easily be implemented into Smash, with or without his signature sword.

I had a dream where we finally got a direct.
The first reveal was Masked Royal and Incineroar.
The second reveal was Guzma and Golisopod as Masked Royal's echo fighter (though he was only an echo in mechanics).
The third reveal was Ken, Ryu's echo.
Then he went into modes like trophy rush, all star, etc.
Then Bandanna Dee was revealed.
After that, Shadow. Sonic's echo.
Finally, Boshi. Yoshi's echo.
Sakurai then explained Spirits mode. It really is Subspace 2, with cutscenes and everything. The gameplay has been spruced up too.
A demo is announced, set for the middle of November.
Then the direct was over, but wait! One last thing!
Geno is revealed as the final character.
We then get a new and improved EVERYONE IS HERE trailer, with new scenes with the new characters.
The banner is updated, and the direct ends.

It was a nice dream. We need a direct soon so I can stop dreaming.

Kay, so are there any "favorite characters" that you guys don't play for any reason?

Like I don't play Samus or Link, despite liking and loving Metroid and LoZ because I don't like their movesets. They aren't bad movesets, I just find them "not my playstyle"

I looooove Mario games, but I don't play Mario because I always defaulted to the Mario/Ryu/normative default character in every game with a selectable roster for sooooo long, I don't see myself being able to go back to that again.

I find that I like characters that are middleweights, have one projectile, and a counter or reflector, who also happen to be from franchises I like.

Not really.

I don’t think anyone aside from Gematsu had him, and even then his own response was very vague with “Pokémon from X and Y”.

Greninja was still a surprise to many.

Urbosa's Fury would work for Urbosa, or targeted lighting from the Divine Beast. I think the way they attack you before you get inside the Divine Beasts could work for everyone.
