So that's confirmation of what was mostly a rumor. GGs without hazards has no blocks and no wind (and presumably no fruit spawns either). That's going to be a really interesting stage. I kinda fear the potential camping of the side platforms still, but definitely that's the configuration that gives GGs the most potential to be legal for sure so that's good news.
There are a handful of other stages we've never seen, but they're relatively less interesting. We've never seen Mario Galaxy without hazards, but it seems likely it's just the same since nothing on the stage really moves or does anything in the first place. We've never seen Onett or New Pork City, but it's relatively easy to guess how both play without hazards and neither has a real chance to be legal either way. Otherwise, we were just hoping for a second match on Tortimer Island to see if it has the same lay-out as the only hazards off match we have on it (that had a very symmetrical lay-out) or if the lay-out is still random and the really regular lay-out we got was just coincidence. This is probably irrelevant to whether Tortimer Island itself is legal (whether the water is okay or not is the question for it, the lay-outs are tame regardless), but assuming consistency, it has implications for Gamer and Mario Maker if hazards off is one static known good lay-out.
One thing I did notice in the recent footage that I didn't before is that Lylat Cruise, upon loading a new area, just repeatedly loads the empty space background with hazards off. This isn't gameplay relevant since the tilting is gone either way, but it's a thing that is different!
I should update the stage hazard toggle in the pre-release build section with both tidbits we have.
