Unpopular opinion incoming...But everyone’s talking about how all these box theory and 10 day theory stuff is crud, but honestly I think the discussion is instresting (I mean when people arn’t bias.)

All these stock/no items/no hazards matches from The Big House are pretty nice. It's really just too bad 95%+ of them are on Town and City or Battlefield; it's like no one even cares to check what the handful of actually unknown stages even do without hazards...

Which is why I believe the hazard switch won't affect the competitive scene at all, imo.

I wonder, since I'm only going off of peoples claims that the NEW header's time window, if it simply goes off after a certain amount of time, rather than in preparation for an announcement. Would also align with Sakurai's comments that they're slowing down.

Haha, well now I know what to do if I get my hands on a legit picture. Take a picture with my phone at a bad angle and crop it down to something small.
That way everyone feels silly when it's real.

Put it through Paint and resize it a bit to get that REAL "fake leak" effect.

I shouldn't be able to tell the damn character you're leaking by the end of it. Like that Banjo one.

It's completely random when it goes away.

It went away 2 weeks after 8.8, while going away 3 weeks after Isabelle.


It's not a set amount of time, it's just 'whenever they feel like it.'

I think we've had one or two true leaks come from 4Chan, but I don't remember which.

Countless Shonen Jump Leaks for Yugioh OCG lists as well.

4chan has actually been pretty well known for both fakes and real leaks. It has some fake leaks that gain attention too, but few real leaks in comparison. I'd say maybe... 1% of 4chan leaks are real? Give or take 10%.

They don't do Friday directs for a reason (unless they are very Japan focused), they fall on Saturday for Japan.

Cue for people to go and find every direct that's taken place on a friday before, when you're doing this only take note of the ones that are international as this is the main problem here.

Why are ALL "leaked" images of the game are either:
blurry
can't make out what it is
never the entire picture ( just a small portion) like a hand or half of the face?
Is it really hard to take a picture of the whole thing? Like Ken's was?

I mean, I'm not going to be down for only playing on like 5 stages when we have 30+ good choices. Just talking to people, I hear a lot of people agreeing with that; it's just always sad to see the other side where people just like... aren't interested in learning things.

On the other side, we finally have actual footage of Pac-Man being played in this mode. It turns out that being able to grab and not die is really useful for him, and his normals in general all seem just a bit better across the board. He might be a bit of a sleeper rising character in Ultimate, but since most people didn't really check him out in the demo, I think he's just kinda not being noticed.

I don't think anyone's expecting a Friday 'Direct' at this point as much as a Robin/Lucina reveal, which 'would' work since tomorrow's the last day of blog posts for the week.

If a Robin/Lucina thing were to happen with Incineroar/Ken, would that possibly deconfirm Box Theory? I can't imagine this Smash cycle ending without a second direct, as they need to explain Spirits. I also can't imagine a Smash direct without any newcomers.

Well, a while back one of my earlier predictions was a Japanese-only Direct in October with a character, like Shulk's. I discarded that because I couldn't think of a highly requested character that would fit that type of Direct, though I'm curious what ideas there'd be.

So anyway, speaking of third party characters, how about those NES era characters? Ryu Hayabusa's my choice, but would any of you like Spencer from Bionic Commando? Arthur from Ghost N' Goblins? Jimmy and Bimmy from Double Dragon? Rash from Battletoads? Bill/Lance from Contra?

I could go for Arthur, he would definitely be interesting.

In terms of Indie character, she's definitely one of the most iconic of them, next to Shovel Knight. The only other indie character that comes to might that comes close to her is Quote from Cave Story. Toss in the extremely long history with Nintendo that Shantae has and Shovel Knight doesn't, she's fairly likely. At least in terms of Indies.

It's a different story between whether I want her in and whether I think she'll make it. I have mixed feelings on whether she'll make it into the base game, but she definitely scored high on the ballot in terms of indie. I could see her making it in as DLC though.

Dr. Mario is the perfect echo for Mario, they're just being difficult about it. Because his jump/weight aren't the same or something like that.

That's what an echo fighter is, character with the same moves (with some moves placed to fit their moveset) but with different properties eg Weight

To be fair, as great and popular as Shovel Knight may be, he lacks history with Nintendo, being a fairly recent character. Still, I would've wanted him in.

And one of the last times console exclusives and smash got together, Bayonetta was birthed and Bayonetta 3 became a Switch Exclusive.
