My job lasts only 3 hours a day, and my vacation from it's almost done. That gives plenty of legroom.

Yupp, literally nothing. Besides the usual wild speculation, crazy expectations and such. Just waiting for the inevitable direct.

Believe it or not, I lost track of who I voted for in the Ballot. I probably voted for 5 separate characters. However I only remember 3 of them. Shovel Knight, Wreck-It Ralph (Give me a break, I was kinda dumb then), and Bandanna Waddle Dee. I'm hoping that Bandana Dee is in just so I can feel l heard, ya know?
But yeah, I'm starting to have my doubts on him as each announcement goes by.

I voted for a ton of characters, yet I just distinctly remember Master Higgins.

Zero from Megaman X as a Roy Echo.

Largely the same attacks, especially since his recovery is literally already Zero's Ryuenjin, but give him his spinning attack as his neutral air, and his traditional 3 hit combo as his jab.

Of course, Zero is already an assist, but I digress.

I can only imagine the absolute battlegrounds this place would be if we never got the Ken leak.

I don't think I'd ever be able to believe another leak again.

Getting an up close on a stage we've never seen that close, at a status we've only ever seen in a character video, showing specific bugs that nobody knew about until afterwards and having stuff like the unique Pichu render that would make no sense if it was fake... at that point, anything that's not video would be impossible for me to believe if Ken turns out fake.

In regards to the echo question be Radical Bones I would have Mach Rider as a Captain Falcon Echo, only instead of fire attacks, he would have electric attacks.

On the subject of the ballot, I voted for Marina Liteyears because I had to shoot my shot, but I also dropped one for Mona on another IP. My friend voted for Travis Touchdown. It didn't even cross my mind to vote for veterans, honestly, which is why I was shocked to see, like, Wolf dominate the polls. As a big Lucas and Snake fan I'm happy but all my pipe dreams will never make it out of fan polls...

So... to get some discussions started:
what is a character that's not being talked about that much in speculation, you think has a pretty good chance of making it in?

Paper Mario, he is very popular and is usually in the top 10 in both the West and the East. It makes me sad that almost no “alleged” leak includes him (except the one from yesterday) He has so much potential and if he makes it in, either in base or DLC, I really REALLY hope his moveset is based around the use of his partners, like how Inkling uses various weapons. I am really worried about how he would be implemented given how the latest installments focus on stickers/things and not partners :/ I dont want him to be a Toon Link to Mario and just have some minor differences (remove Fludd or just use his hammer and thats it). How do y’all think Paper Mario would be implemented?

All songs with no stage/character representation in addition to universes made up of one game (Ice Climber, Duck Hunt, etc.) go into the Other category. Those songs will likely only be usable on stages like Summit, Wrecking Crew or PictoChat 2.

I would want Paper Mario if and only if he's based on the first three games with partners having a large part of his moveset. If Paper Mario is just Mario but paper and with a hammer and some stuff from Sticker Star/Color Splash I would not be interested at all, I'd honestly go as far as to say I'd be pretty upset if they did him like that.

I totally get you are kidding, but it brings up the fact how I hate that "theory" is being thrown onto everything this speculation cycle.

Box theory is a theory, music theory was a theory, heck even the chair theory was a theory.

I don't think we are gonna have a new Final Fantasy character outside of FF7.
In Smash Ultimate website, it label Cloud as a Final Fantasy 7 character not a FF character at all. It has FF7 trademark but not Final Fantasy. This could either mean that A. there will be a new FF7 rep or B. there are no FF7 reps and Cloud is the only one.

And then people point at Rex & Pyra to try and deconfirm her despite there being no way anyone could've known how well XC2 could've sold at the time of the project development.

I'm not trying to become one of those fans about my faves but she's just plausible enough for me to get incredibly personally irritated when people ignore her or claim she has no chance because of a newer game or "fan favorites".

Me personally I'd like both of them, I played XB2 (loved it), but I haven't played XBX, so I only had a slight interest in Elma, but from the abilities Elma would have that people talked about, and the cool things Elma would bring (Mechs/Skells in Smash? Finally ), she easily shot up as one of my most wanted, and I can't wait for XBX to be ported to Switch. In the end, in the best timeline I'd prefer if both made it to base roster, but realistically I'd want Elma for base and Rex and Pyra for DLC.

There's this thing called Video Games, you may like them.

Okami, has been keeping me occupied.

He'd be a nightmare of licensing regardless. Sora is owned by Disney, so even if they drop all references to the Disney characters and remove the Mickey head from Sora's keychain, they'd still have to talk to Disney.

Welp that makes Sora a character I wholeheartedly doubt will ever appear in Smash Ultimate if that's the case. Pretty sure working with Square is hard enough as is, but that AND Disney sounds like a nightmare to go through for 1 character.

Then again, Sakurai is a madman, and I wouldn't put it past his team to beg Nintendo's lawyers sweettalk Disney into this whole thing.

...That'd actually open a very weird pandora's box of Goofy being a more likely character than some other 3rd parties. Hyuck.

Sora may be owned by Disney, however Disney has such high respect for Nomura and his characters, that if Nomura wished to put Sora into Smash, Disney would support his decision.

Then you got to keep in mind, Disney works very well with Nintendo, and vice versa (Hosting Smash EVO on Disney XD (with high ratings), KH games for Nintendo handheld, Bowser cameo on Wreck it Ralph, and other Disney content exclusive to Nintendo (Wreck it Ralph games)), they have much to benefit if Sora makes it into Smash. Also, since Sora can support himself, and use abilities without the need of any Disney content, he can simply and cleanly make it to Smash without any messy Disney fallout.

That is literally one of the ugliest things I have seen in my life.
Also, "Waluigiette". That is more like a fan character rather than an actual trademarked character.

Isn't the upcoming Nintendo Switch Title Super Smash Bros. Ultimate one of those, howdoyasay, vidya gaems? That comes out in less than two months. Let's talk about that more.

The game could be out and you all would be “SO UHM. When is the next smash direct? Come on WE NEED and DESERVE MORE information” seriously, some of you need to get a hobby or something.

*Shows off my games in Steam, my PS4 Pro, 2DS and Nintendo Switch that are all in my posession that I can freely play anytime I want.
I have more, but they are all "everyone's".

People doubting him due to being a "Goomba With a Hat" and has "lack any inspiring tools to make him an actual fighter."

Still, it makes no sense why people were pushing away this character badly. He is the player 4 of Kirby. He is really relevant, can fit to Kirby mold really well, and he is really popular (especially Japan). He also has more unique moves to the latest Kirby game.
