Short answer: yes and no.
Long answer: speculation was never dead to begin with since Vergeben obviously doesn't know all Characters and we already know he's 100% that there a second Square-Enix Character too risky to leak.
If someone else than those three get announced don't get your hopes up because it means those three might be our last pick.

TL;DR : you better wish that Ken/Incineroar get announced now to truly open speculation for the months of november

Smash 3DS definitely launched with the intention of DLC. The next page and shop data where datamined from the title at launch.

DLC was also worked on while Smash Ultimate was in planning. There's definitely some overlap with DLC planning and the team wrapping up work.

Sure. But my point is that's not the same as holding back content. Holding back content implies it's already created but not implemented. What you pointed out just says that they were planning for dlc, not that it was already developed. So yeah I think they are definitely planning for dlc and making negotiations with 3rd parties (in fact that might be done already) but it has always been Sakurai's intention to create a complete game first. I don't think they will begin developing dlc until after release....except for maybe beginning the first character.

Well, like I said and no one answered me. What if the Square-Enix Characters is INDEED DLC and announced before the game release? What would people think of it?

If it happens, in my personal opinion I think it was because it was a "Sonic in brawl" situation. Where Sakurai got bluballed by Square who then accepted way too late, but instead of delaying the game they made it DLC

See above. For Vergeben and Box theory to be correct the Square character needs to be dlc. I also think that explains why Vergeben doesn't know who it is.

If the character was already in the game I don't think Square/Nintendo would be able to spread lies like Vergeben is implying. The character would have to be seen by most of the development teams, testing teams, marketing etc. However if they are still in planning and negotiations than I think it's very likely they could be hiding who it is still.

But that’s only because he was revealed after Ridley and Simon Belmont, two generally highly requested characters, were revealed as well. K. Rool’s reveal combined with those two created the perception that this game is being made “for the fans”

You're into something however Square-Enix are famous for being ultra Stingy with Leaks. There chance the Characters is in development by a small team probably to not hinder the polishing/debugging of the game.
The same way there high chance that this Characters is base game but only made into certain build of the game to protect that stuff.

But I believe you're right. Either what you said or that Characters is too much of a big deal.

It only deconfirms Vergeben then. To deconfirm the box there has to be an echoe before the Palutena till Cloud row (like Medusa over Ken would not deconfirm the box, but Shadow as an echoe would) and more then one unique newcomer, would kill the box to

Monster.inc got leaked because Square-Enix went full ****** and did a PowerPoint to explain how they're working with Unreal Engine 4 and they apparently used the wrong picture lmao

Weird that you feel that way, because while there are some tropes, the majority of the cast does feel decently unique to me. Some even do something special in terms of how they're written. The Stain arc was the only one where I felt disappointed in the writing, purely due to Stain as a whole and his motivation making no sense to me.

Bakugo is my favorite character precisely because he takes the "cocky ****head rival" trope that is SO OVERDONE and actually does something different with it. He's an actual complex character with reasons behind his attitude instead of just being a guy who thinks "I'm the best and everyone else is garbage".

It is overrated TO AN EXTENT, because a lot of people praise it like it's the second coming of Christ, but it is a fantastic show and deserves the credit it gets. One of the more recent episodes nearly had me in tears and I don't really have that happen to me with media.

Yeah it’s pretty good. Fun and unique characters. Just it feels like almost every character fits into a trope category. And to be honest it kinda started to repeat itself and I lost instrest. It’s still pretty good though. Just don’t understand why everyone is treating it like this godly show. K back on topic.

The only thing I would potentially change would be the Pokemon. I have nothing against Incineroar he is ok. But I would like another type represented as we already have a fire (Charizard) and dark (Greninja) maybe a ground or rock type. Just my 2 cents.

My most wanted assist trophy is anyone other than Ashley, because she was originally my most wanted character. Aside from her though, I don't really know, because Assist Trophies are kinda meh to me

Eggplant Wizard would make a really cool AT. He would, obviously, attempt to transform opponents into eggplants, thus making them weak, incapable, and vulnerable.

All being possible.
I think it makes sense that we just got a R/L reveal in October, and a Smash Direct in November for letting Sakurai and the team work more on the Spirits mode, and the final presentation before release.

It also makes sense that it's a Smash direct in October, and an R/L in November, this as Sakurai know how thirsty the Smash community is, and with this, we could talk all the way through November without drying up (hopefully), and then the last reveal would just be a bonus on top of the cake.

Both makes sense, really, so, I don't know.

I prefer Chorus Kids as the playable RH rep, but I think Karate Joe would still make a really neat assist trophy. He could punch pots across the battlefield, kick bombs high into the air for a big explosion once they hit the ground, and do a combo if a fighter got too close.
