Also, yes, if anymore newcomers other than just Ken and one other get put into base, Box Theory is dead; I was just noting how anymore possible third-parties may end up on the back of the box; of course, Simon didn't get put on the back, so idk, I'd rather the theory die because it seemed to make some character supporters decide to jump ship.

We're coming up to that in Smash 6. Sakurai, having been forced to retire, will go around the world leaking official material and players will have to follow him a lá Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.

That'd be the one thing to get me back in to Smash 6 Speculation right there.

A couple things to note...

Yes, the comparison was awful. No questioning that. Believing in a theory that has some evidence but still could be wrong is very different from believing in something that is scientifically proven wrong.

However, flaming the user despite this is also wrong. Calling out the user on a bad point is fine. But when you start flaming them, it's no longer fine.

So please move on and stop getting at each other's throats over it. It won't help.

Please understand that I had two options here; warn/infract multiple posts or drop this tidbit. I felt dropping this tidbit is better for the community. People can obviously have beliefs that doesn't make sense to you. That's fine. You're free to explain why you think it doesn't make sense. That's also fine. But remember, when you attack the person, you are breaking the rules here too.

I doubt anything will happen until the latter half of this month at the earliest.

It'll be a long month imo, but I have a crap ton of homework and studying for midterms to keep me occupied.

I will say it until the end of time. The amount of people that feel like only having 2 characters left will "ruin the hype" are a vocal minority. Most people don't feel this way, and the people who do will probably get over it. With Ultimate being the way it is, it's not something to easily lose hype over.

The reason why the box theory is annoying is because of how it was treated as fact during the first week it was around, and if you didn't buy it, you were in denial. That kind of talk is bothersome, and hurts speculation. Granted, said talk is nowhere near as prominent now, but every once in a while, I bring it up because non believers that aren't toxic about it are lumped up in a category where we're overly optimistic, and are setting ourselves up for disappointment. And frankly, being described like that is kinda rude.

So, again. Most non believers don't actually care how many characters are left, because Ultimate will be great regardless. But the box isn't suddenly concrete decisive proof of anything, so please don't treat it as such.

Though, to any and all non believers that compare believing in the box theory to being a flat earther or some along those lines... You may want to think over some things.

Speak for yourself. Unlike many other games with micro transactions, DMC 5 actually has effort being put into it, I’m not going let that whole drama detract my excitement from the game.

Last night, I was watching some gameplay of Fatal Fury 3, and I do think Terry Bogard could take some influence from this if he got in Smash.

I can even see the taunts/idle poses/victory poses.

Personally I don't think this means much but it does show Nintendo knows Minecraft's popularity among young people.

If I recall correctly, some flying types can't fly. It's just they resemble birds or flying creatures. Pit and Pittoo still have wings, so it's not that weird them being Flying type.

...though, maybe Pit should be weak to Fire.

Hey y'all, what's been going on? All I've skimmed through was some V for Vendetta stuff and now couldn't be more of a better time to mention that Def Jam Vendetta is one of the greatest games of all time.

So, something's been on my mind as of late. I've noticed some people have been saying that Smash is running out of solid first party content to choose from. Do any of you feel like this is true?

Not exactly. But I understand why people feel that way. Most of the notable main characters from the most important franchises are in. Some of which now finally getting their villains. ARMS, Golden Sun, and Xenoblade still have characters to offer that wouldn't be too much of a stretch to justify their inclusion to some people. Hell, Fossil Fighters is another one and so is Dillon's Rolling Western and Chibi-Robo, as obscure as they are. There's a couple of side characters that could be added that people would probably like, namely either Dixie Kong or even Cranky and Bandanna Dee. Then you have franchises with an ever expanding cast, such as Fire Emblem or Pokemon, who's bound to have something new to add in.

I do think it says something for how far the series has come that Waluigi is one of the biggest first party names not in the game yet. Because we've got all the real "all-stars" and then some at this point. That's why 3rd parties, especially those who have a strong connection to Nintendo get so much hype. Many of them are more famous than half the Smash cast, even if they get overshadowed in the public compared to Mario, Pokemon and Zelda.

I mentioned this a while back but in terms of video game villain, there's no one in as much media as Eggman.

Shadow I get, but to be honest I couldn't care less about him. Do you need him for the series to go on? No.

Maina shows that a lot of the modern guys aren't needed. Which is... something to think about.

Though is he popular? Yes.

More than Eggman? My gut tells me, yes, but it doesn't feel correct.

Eggman's probably more publicly known along with Tails more then Shadow is in terms of Sonic characters. But this is in regards to requests for Smash. Like I mentioned before, Shadow as much as I'm not much of a fan of his character post-SA2 is someone who seems to be so popular he was always among the top downloaded Brawl mods. And Tails was in the same April Fools issue that probably helped boost Sonic's support for Brawl.

I don't think there's ever been anything big to push for a playable Eggman in Smash in the past. And his only cameos in Smash were as trophies. Which is why he may just simply be a boss that fits with how Dracula is there. The perfect Sonic representation for this game that is still possible and/or already confirmed is Sonic, Tails (Semi-Clone, even if this may have to wait til' DLC), and Shadow (echo) as characters, Knuckles assist, 2 Stages (It's kind of interesting that Sonic's the only 3rd party with 2 stages in Ultimate even if they are both returning stages), and a Eggman Spirits boss (Along with whatever misc. Sonic stuff they add from trophies or music)

It's been hard enough getting more 1st party villains in the roster too, so I don't know about 3rd party ones aside from what I've heard, Heihachi since he's one of the mainstays of Tekken. I wouldn't mind Eggman joining, just at this point I think Tails and Shadow are the absolute maximum cause they're an unaccounted for Assist Trophy (Shadow) and Mii costume (Tails) thus far. (Not that every unaccounted for Assist or Mii Costume have big chances to be playable. I'm not saying Elec Man or Gilgamesh have a chance. Just Shadow and/or Tails both could of had reasonable enough support during the ballot. Just enough to get the former as an echo, and maybe the latter as DLC later at the very least. Both may be packaged together as DLC if Shadow misses the base game as well)

The only people that are complaining about DMCV's microtransactions are people who've never played DMC4SE or have long since forgotten since then that they don't do jack diddly squat to help you with the game. That or people jumping on an outrage bandwagon without actually doing any research.

It is basically the equivalent of paying real money for a piddly amount of exp points in a singleplayer game.

If you think having Roulette Spin is going to help you beat Credo, I have some very, very unfortunate news for you. I'd like to remind you that there is an entire style in DMC3,4, and V, that revolves around one move, blocking.
Here's a suggestion, if you think the microtransactions are going to hamper your experience of the game, ask someone who's played DMC4SE if their experience was changed with the existence of microtransactions, or better yet, play it yourself.
