Once again. Sora is Owned by Disney, but Anything and any way to represent him goes to Nomura. Basically Disney sign the papers, but Nomura Is Probably the one to give the call.

As well as the one to work with for representing Sora correctly. The only way Disney would be involved with development is if actual Disney characters would show up in some form(which is probably not going to happen). Sakurai works with many people from other companies(not counting Bandai-Namco) when working on 3rd party characters. It's no surprise that they care heavily about how their IP is represented. In some ways, you can blame this on why Sonic's moveset design feels kind of strange. It represents a specific style of fast-paced gameplay, fitting his games, but doesn't work super well balance-wise either. It makes sense, but clearly could be better. But to be fair, only the Spin Dash and Spin Charge really could use some work at this point(maybe some more power in a few attacks, but those two are only good for change-ups, which does help, but feels redundant despite not truly being so).

But also real talk I feel we underestimate how many people care for Geno in the Smash community.
Sora's a massive deal and I agree that he's x100 bigger than Geno but the hardcore Smash community seems to be what Ultimate's going for.

There's also the rumor that a Disney representative, VP of Disney Japan Jason Scarpone, said that the rights are held by Disney, a little from Square Enix, but ultimately they would go to Tetsuya Nomura for permission as a courtesy. I still consider it a rumor as we don't have a first hand source, that I know of. But while there are many people who would have to agree for Sora to be in Smash, I feel like, with many companies, if Sakurai went to them they would most likely want their character in, for the money, free promotion--it's why we hear many creators and publishers advocating their character in Smash.

As to whether or not Nintendo would agree with their terms--I'm less worried about that as Nintendo has worked with Disney many times in the past, they share a similar demographic while not being direct competitors, and I'm certain Sakurai could find a way to include Sora that is in line with everyone's terms. Really, I feel like the only major hurdles are a) Does Sakurai ask for Sora, or ask for someone else from Square, and b) can the legalities of dealing with so many different companies and people be managed. I think it's highly likely.

PSA: "Rumor" does not mean "not true", it means the truth has not been corroborated (as far as I know). I consider HMK to be a trustworthy enough source to cite the exact video that people have been pointing me to when I was making the argument that SORA IS LIKELY. Context clues.

Who said anything about that? That's a leap of logic that nobody actually said. I guess I can see where it could be accidentally implied, but nobody spoke of who would be presenting the information, so it wasn't really a relevant point to be countered.

Being revealed at an Event doesn't mean that somebody other than those two would reveal it. It'd still be Nintendo or Sakurai announcing it regardless. People thought there was a tiny chance the location of Minecon would be used to announce Minecraft Smash content. Nobody was expecting it, of course. But the location has nothing to do with what people are presenting it.

Besides the two people...other Minecraft fans (outside of this website of course)...so many people thought there would be a Smash announcement

Coming from a fan of both characters and the ever elusive longshot that is Crono, I'd be ecstatic to see both get in. Geno represents mt first ever foray into RPGs with Super Mario RPG, and Sora represents my love for crossovers with Kingdom Hearts, and both characters hold a special place in my heart because of it.

Not to mention that Yoko Shimomura composed both soundtracks, and could possibly add in her own rearrangements for Ultimate should both get in. She's already done this a few times in Smash with Gritzy Desert in Brawl, Ryu's Theme in Smash 4 and Vega's Theme as her latest known one in Ultimate. Having SMRPG and Kingdom Hearts music in Ultimate would be like a dream come true for me, whether as remixes or original compositions, and one can never have too much Yoko Shimomura music.

Despite then saying Nomura can basically do whatever he wants with the character the Disney name is still going to be on the box art of a Nintendo fighting game. Even if they do let Nomura run wild with the character, Sakurai isn't Nomura, and Nintendo ain't Square. I'm actually not THAT personally invested in Geno's inclusion though I did see it as likely (until recent events), but I think to say there'd be no real blow back is inaccurate as we've already seen with stuff like Waluigi the community tends to be stupid. Geno has been on everyone's speculation list since like two directs ago so he's definitely on people's radar right now.

I agree with you in that the likes of Sora would make the largest amount of people happy, but I can still see the salt levels hitting critical mass if Geno loses the spot to basically any other Square Enix character, Sora would probably be the one to produce the least amount of salt.

Fake news...a very bad one
Nomura was the one to not want Dissidia to be a KH game as having FF Characters fighting Disney didn't made it for him, especially with the battle system that looked like Advent Children fights it gave him idea.
That's how he decided to make the first full FF Crossover which is a remnants of the KH project.
Disney let Nomura manage the KH brand freely, at least video games wise since birth by sleep was in development.

Heck, Disney wanted to make a KH mobile game but it was so **** that Square Stepped in and said "lol no GTFO with that ****"

Exactly. Ken's model looks pretty much the same from his smash 4 trophy, wich is very simplistic. It might indeed have received some upgrades for the final version of the game.

I wish that was the case, but it isn’t. So far it’s new model never before seen for Ken based off a mix of his SF2/3 design.

SF4 Ken was cooler, I don’t like SF3 Ken as much that per say. I do wish they make some touch ups to the face. It looks a little weird to me.

Oh boy. I hope that Nintendo realized that they just made mistake on holding DLC as hostage until you buy their memberships. Sounds like they want more money from memberships, that's first strike for me since I brought 12 month memberships just to play their NES games.
