Eh... doesn't really have that same solidity as the recent Ken leak. And if they have a version of the game that has Steve on the CSS, then surely, they'd have other fighters there too. Doesn't add up at all.They keep coming

Good argument, although this is an earlier build and European localization in-game could be unfinished in that build.
I know the E3 demo was in English even in European countries where English isn't spoken.

No it's not, lol. You can literally count the pixels on the screen to see the name isn't even close to centered.
The timer font used in the leaked image is not either E3 build or newly build developer team uses.

Someone leaked Ken on a stage in debug mode, which lines up with Verge-god's claims and the box theory, which also confirms Incineroar and Steve for Smash.
It's obviously from the new and final build of the game before release

That could go either way tbh; proof that font changes, and Pichu's portrait's mouth not being E3 build, could be an even earlier build.

So far the consensus is that it's real. People have been scrutinizing it all day, but just like with the ESRB leak of old, every point people have brought up to disprove it only makes it look more legitimate.

Nobody can really trash it. Doesn't mean it's 100% real but it's certainly more solid than anything else we've gotten thus far.
And no, people are reaching for "evidence" that says Steve is in. Vergeben stated he'd heard something about Steve but can't 100% confirm he's playable. The leaker who posted this has IIRC only posted this and that's all. Really all this image would prove is that Ken is in the game.

That Steve leak is definitely not from the same person as the Ken leak. If the Ken leak is fake, there's no way they'd make any glaring mistakes that can be seen without intense scrutiny later on. Like come on, there was no care put into that, compared to the immense care that would have been put into the Ken leak if it's fake.

Lbr a lot of people (not everyone) don't want Steve in the game because of Minecraft's fanbase.

The consensus is most people tend to believe it. Smash has never been perfect with clipping, shadows and modeling, and this Ken model seems compliment all 3 imperfections.

If talks began between Nintendo and Microsoft early enough to put in a character, there's no reason to say Banjo would be DLC over the base roster. Their popularity in the polls were in 2015, which is when Spencer gave his personal approval (whether it was genuine or not), the same year the roster was being finalized, and the ballot was used in the case of King K Rool, at least. I can certainly see Minecraft getting a stage with a Creeper assist, in the same vain as Monster Hunter (if the single player stage we saw also had a multiplayer version), whereas Banjo & Kazooie make sense as a full fledged character in the base roster. We've seen many cases of characters who've been wanted since Melee getting in with Ridley and King K Rool. Geno and Banjo are the main ones left to round out the Ultimate roster.

All of Smash 4's roster was leaked about a month before the release of the 3DS version thanks to someone at the ESRB, and I'm pretty sure all of Brawl's roster was leaked as well. Stranger things have happened.

But if I have to pick,
The Steve image is at least an internally consistent 6x12 grid. Which, I mean, anyone could get right.
It begs the question of "why not get the entire CSS?" though. Even though, by alignment, we know it's all existing characters + Ken, the image would have been far more useful broader.
Edit: Wait, know, it doesn't line up at all, what am I talking about. Hold on, lemme check removing Miis... No, that obviously makes it worse.
This "leak" only makes CSS alignment sense if you remove Ken, so it seems that along proves it is fake.

But the sooner we get a Direct, the easier it is to combat leaks.... and look at what's happening now.
November is going to be a festering pit of leaks between both the NA and EU Special Edition box art and the Prima Guides, we 'need' that Direct next month, unless this guy blows his whole load now.
