A character select screen seems MUCH easier to fake; I wouldn't put much stock in this on its own.

Also, as a reminder, if you think a leak is legitimate, or there's enough reason to believe it's legitimate, put it in a spoiler tag to be on the safe side.

I really don't mind Steve at all. Plenty of interesting potential gameplay mechanics, a nice aesthetic, potential for a really neat randomly generated stage, and it would be the first Western third party in Smash.

Agreed. And to those who’d want, say Banjo and Kazooie or Master Chief; don’t think of Steve’s inclusion as ‘wasting resources’ or ‘stealing slots’ or anything like that, think of it as opening the floodgates for more Microsoft characters. Heck, for all we know, Microsoft could let General RAAM from Gears of War in the game as DLC!

On the german Smash Bros. website some changes were made. In previous games "My Music"-Mode was named "Musik" (Music) in german versions. Some days ago "Musik" was still on the stage website (at the end of the page) now it is "Mein Mix" (My Mix)

Some Stage Names were changed. "Pilz-Königreich" (Brawl) (Mushroomy Kingdom) was named Pilz-Königreich (Mushroom Kingdom) on 3DS and Brawl, now on the website it is "Pilz-Urkönigreich".

They have been working on it a while. (Green Greens was changed to "Frühlingswiese"(spring meadow))

The only new render on the CSS is one that would just be a straight import and thus impossible to prove fake without a separate error.

Considering that, I think it's safe to say it's fake. Show a new render, or even the Ken one and my opinion may change.

Because most of them don't approve today's gaming icons and they want everything to be the old way

I'd argue he's more than possible for base roster though. Kingdom Hearts was as popular then as it is today. It's always been a pretty popular series, and Sora likely did well on the ballot because as I said before, the entire Kingdom Hearts community rallied around him for Smash. And by "community," I mean the entire Kingdom Hearts subreddit, fan forums, youtubers with over 10,000 subscribers making videos and tweeting telling their viewers to vote for Sora, Smash fans who just like Sora, and casual players of both games. I wouldn't be surprised if Sora ranked top 25 worldwide, if not top 15, or even top 10 in the ballot. People have wanted Sora as early as in Brawl, as evidenced by his showing up on Sakurai's Brawl Poll. Pre and Post-Sm4sh people asked for him, and people are still asking for him. Heck, there's currently a post on the Kingdom Hearts reddit with 1300 upvotes about Sora being in Smash (link here).

It does make me wonder how many will actually be ballot/popular picks. Ridley and King K Rool, especially the latter, were, but given the pacing of reveals and how things are winding down, there's a strong possibility they started with ballot picks--even though I think it would be better to start and finish big. I do think, however, Sora has a much better chance than people think, especially with the rumor that a marketing person from Disney said it's mainly their call, though as a courtesy getting permission from Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix. It's a similar thing we see with Microsoft and Capcom--at least in terms of lip service, every company wants their character in Smash.

It's much more fun when the leak is real. It's almost like real speculation and discussion about a character at that point, instead of "guh-hyuck hey guys here's why i think geno is a lock for smash and if you disagree you're wrong".

I didn't know the real Banjo was in these forums speculating.
