Kinda, but they're mostly pre-pubescent kids so they're still growing up. Most of the hate is because it's something ridiculously popular and kids really like it, so some toxic fans feel threatened by acknowledgement of something they don't like. You could also see it when Isabelle got revealed, with some people here saying they wanted to vomit. Also because it's owned by the same company who owns Banjo Kazooie who some people prefer for some reason

Minecraft would not get a character, and their would be no Microsoft character in vanilla ultimate since sakurai only really got into Minecraft after 2015
Pokemon is on the level of Zelda and Mario to get a new stage

So leaves us with 2

We are defiantly getting a new square character but I say sora over geno or Lara croft or dragon quest character because of the goof, and how big a deal they actively threaten leaked on squares end with Disney involved too

Elma I say because there's one more stage left and xenoblade x assets are hd and can be used for this game fairly easily

But snake was the last brawl reveal at e3,
Mega man ended e3 2013



But pacman did not end the e3 2014 direct he was given his own conference

With 3rd parties now sakurai wants to talk about the character, stage, elements in detail on video because they are more interesting and a bigger deal then the 10th Pokemon
So every direct will begin on a 3rd party if there happens to be one from now on

I think early October we get a direct going over spirits but it opens on Dante and ends on inceneroar very Halloween

Mid November I. Think we get a wrap up smash direct maybe going over online but pretty short. it would open on sora as one last big announcement, and end on elma. It would also reveal the Minecraft stage, in my view.

I think elma fits as a final smash character new comer

As in the last character announced is pretty underwhelming compared to what came before, shulk was not a big deal compared to others in smash 4.

I'm excited for her moveset, and she would be the first exclusively black character in smash, ignore a plot twist.

Squirtle is my boi, and I was reasonably okay with Ivy, but I just did the standard heavy attacks with the Zard. For really annoyed me by cutting the two I was good with, but I worked on him a bit there. I’m beyond excited to play all three together again; hopefully I can be a more competent trainer.

People constantly use "that's not my playstyle" as an excuse, but it's completely possible to learn a new play style...

I do agree that learning new playstyles does help open new viewpoints that can be useful with your main. However, I do think there is a balance between learning a character on the side and maintaining/improving your main, since leaving your main on the sidelines could leave you rusty with them. Therefore, a rephrase of the question might be "what character do you wish you could put more time into?" Do note though that there isn't all the time in the world to learn all the intricacies of a character when you don't main them, too, especially with an ever-growing roster.

Also, I disagree on the quoted statement, but it's not worth opening that can of worms here.

Plus, Minecraft HAS appeared on Nintendo consoles, so he not representing a franchise with out ever being on a console him self. I just don't understand why people are opposed to the idea

DMCV leaker just got a detail wrong, said Dante's theme would be typical HG Shootie stuff but that atrocity we got isn't Shootie tier-esque at all

If I wish I were good at a character, I learn to play them. People constantly use "that's not my playstyle" as an excuse, but it's completely possible to learn a new play style. In fact, being able to use several different play styles makes you more flexible and better all around, even if you're a solo main, so if you're competitive I definitely recommend playing characters outside of your comfort zone from time to time as they may help you learn new skills or understand different match ups better.

Now there are characters that I wish were better. Palutena is a character who I can play but don't think is very fun to play as because most of the time you only use like half her moves. I can use her, I just don't like to.

Definitely this. I can get used to the playstyles of Link, Sonic and Sheik for example so much, and none of them play alike. Honestly, I don't mind using characters as long as I feel like I'm getting somewhere.

I don't like how he looks. His face is completely blank and animations are stiff and lifeless. It works in Minecraft, but in Smash it'd be pretty jarring.

because I don’t like Minecraft and don’t like it’s character design or art style. “Steve” looks awful and I don’t want to see him in Smash

Steve in this case seems to being used as a means to an end (Minecraft/indie rep in Smash). Nobody denies that Minecraft has a huge impact on recent gaming culture. Steve, on the other hand, is plain as bread with no story, personality, etc. You also only see him when you're in that menu that shows him. Contrast that to, say, Shantae who has a sassy personality and has her charms

You forgot Geno, but I wouldn't be surprised if this actually is what's left. But I have a slight feeling there might be more. They can't really just end it on those two, I have a feeling if that was the case, it'd affect the hype cycle of Ultimate a fair bit. Shulk ended up being not that bad of a reveal as some would make it out to be, in the case of Smash 4.

They can't really just end it on those two, I have a feeling if that was the case, it'd affect the hype cycle of Ultimate a fair bit. Shulk ended up being not that bad of a reveal as some would make it out to be, in the case of Smash 4.

At the very least Geno would work as a final, hype raising reveal after we had Ridley and K. Rool. And in terms of other characters (maybe not going by RelaxAlex's claim of 7-8 because of blog posts) this seems to be the best chance the Chorus Kids will ever have in Smash, with them (or whatever RH rep) presumably being worked on to some level of development in Smash 4 if the enemy and emblem data are anything to go by.

How many people would be cool with seeing Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden in Ultimate? I’d be pretty excited. It’d round out all of the iconic NES games, and Ryu Hayabusa is pretty cool as well.

I’d be all for it, dude is awesome and his games are all awesome plus he has some cameos in Warriors games thanks to the Koei and Tecmo merger.
