God, the attention to detail is amazing. I would bet Zelda and Toon Link has the Triforce on their hands during FS.
But why not Link or Young Link? They could, but I am still waiting/hoping Young Link's FS is Fierce Deity Link.

From what I remember, Link doesn't have the triforce in BOTW. He's the only one of the three to not always have it (pretty sure Zelda always does) and the developers have talked about how the triforce isn't always the focus of the game so they don't always give it to Link. So yea canonically he doesn't have it.

I was gonna say, all this person needs to do is just leak the list of characters and prove that this image was theirs. Better yet, just show more models.



A lack of characters doesn't mean something is wrong. If he said "No Simon, Ryu, Pac-man", then its wrong.


Its the same reason why people believe him yet he didn't know K. Rool, Dark Samus, Chrom or Richter were in the game.

I might have quote the wrong post...but yea Vergy dropped that first leak right when he posted the "Ridley, Simon & Ice Climbers" leak. I'm not sure if that original thread is still on Gamefaqs but that's when he did it, back in like May.

I have a friend working at a demo station who got the Ryu picture for me when I chatted to him about the leak earlier. The important bit (of how Pac-Man's feet are behaving) should be pretty easily verifiable from any Moray demo footage though.

When he made his official Smash leak thread on reddit he said to disregard his old gamefaqs "leak" and explained it was from illegitimate sources, while his new information from legitimate sources contradicted it.

Gotta say though, most of these arguments against the Ken leak just turn out to strengthen it even more.

This has a pretty good chance to actually be this game's ESRB leak. I know I was one of the people who was flip flopping about it every few minutes this morning, but TBH I'm pretty sold on it now. Funny enough, any of the arguments used against it so far have, as you said, made it look more likely to be real.

I'm with what other people have been saying: If you don't want this game's roster spoiled, get off of Smash sites now. The odds of ESRB 2.0 happening seem pretty good right now, as I'd be surprised if this person had access to take this clean of a photo with all of the debug tools out and didn't snag a shot of the CSS at least. Anything's possible, and no matter how slim the odds are it could still turn out to be a really good fake, but chances are it's not and a more is coming.

Box theory has never been specifically about Incineroar or any specific fighters, but rather the idea of only two fighters being remaining in the base game. So even if Incineroar was leaked it wouldn't confirm the box theory. Similarly, if another fighter other than Incineroar was leaked it wouldn't kill the box theory, either.

Unless he posts another character after Ken and Incineroar. Then the box theory is dead.

We don’t really know if it will kill Box Theory because if there was another fighter it might be they can always update the box to add more fighters.

So guys, as regards Ken, I got a picture from the demo to recreate the Ken picture from Ryu. Here are the two pictures in a spoiler:

One detail to notice is how Pac-Man's feet clip on the upper platform of Moray Towers. This is because the game considers you on the lower level as soon as you are on the darker grey part of the tower, so running left will take you onto the lower level. This is one very specific detail that would be very easy to miss if fake. The proportions based on Ryu are looking good as well.

I think pichu's entire body has been shifted to the left. His little arm is sticking out of the box.

So its the same render, just moved over a bit.

You can find any video like this but here is an example, when a character interferes with a character portrait, the portrait disappears, but the rest of the information stays visible, just like smash 4. I know this one is obvious, but you can see Ken's portrait is faded due to pac-man being in the way

My favorite part about that Ken leak is that because Pac-Man's foot makes his battle portrait transparent, you can only just barely make out Ken's render.

Doubt it because, IIRC these characters are mostly developed alongside each other.

I was immediately skeptical when I saw the original cropped image but the full one is pretty convincing. If it's not real, it's a great effort. Not sure why it's just Ken, but maybe we'll see more in the near future.
