Mega Man doesn't belong there. DK has a massive arcade legacy that's perpetuated by the Country series (which sells better than Mega-Man, Yoshi, Pac-Man and modern Sonic) and his near perfect attendance in any Mario spin-off. There is no comparison. Everyone and their Grandma knows DK.

To add to that, Ryu and Cloud are also both more iconic characters than Mega Man. Ryu himself is the biggest character Capcom has.

Interesting, it would help if they leaked something else too. Even if this is real I don't think many were doubting Ken at this point. I was even on board with him now.

It honestly looks pretty good. A single still image that's a closeup of one character is way too little to give it much truth value, but the fact it's an original render that looks that professional and has the proper poly count make me willing to believe it. Would not be surprised if this is legit, but let's see if this 'leaker' may make the same mistake as others always do and post something of notably lower quality.

That's true. However I'll go as far as to say that Making a Smash Ultimate model with the Moray Tower is probably more difficult than usual. Especially since the Moray stage give a peculiar lighting to Characters.

But yet people said the exact same thing when the Palutena Hoax made the rounds, and I would say trying to replicate everything from the compressed 3DS quality and Smash 3DS's character lining is more difficult than having to take in account for replicating an engine where you don't have those technical limitations. Like this can easily be passed off as real, but it was a hoax. We might just be dealing with the exact same situation as with Ken.

Anyways, the design of Ken makes sense because of how Simon and Pac-Man look in Smash. Wasn't there a rumor that Sakurai outright told Namco that he'd totally skip over Pac-Man if they insisted on his Ghostly Adventures look? This is also why I believe that, if Banjo makes it, they'll likely do the original design and pretend Nuts and Bolts never happened.

I concur that if the ken leak turned fake, it was done by a profesional that knew exactly was it was doing.... so far there is nothing to discredit it as a fake. even the way the shader work on ken feels very "ultimate"

I refuse to believe the Prima Leak for the simple basis that there no ****ing way as optimistic as possible that we get so many Characters left. Echoes or not. Box or Not.

Right now, I'm only expecting Incineroar and Ken on base roster. Any other characters, rumored or otherwise, are DLC at this point.

I think we might see Minecraft content in the base game, but Steve might be DLC, announced alongside the 2nd Square Enix character.

Serebii usually doesn't tweet pokemon news unless he's confident about it though. It usually remains a rumor in the leak section until better verified, then he'll actually post about it.

I'm a big Cloud fan and even I'm going to need some convincing here.

FF7 itself has more of a cultural impact in the gaming world than any Mega Man game has and Cloud himself is Mr. JRPG with tons of merchandise, popular mobile game appearances, presence in Kingdom Hearts (with is definitely significant as it further helped him reach an audience beyond those who grew up playing FF7) and pop culture references. Advent Children also helps Cloud's case given it's one of the most successful video game to movie adaptations (regardless of the movie's reception) which counts for something.

Mega Man himself has no real advantages over Cloud when it comes to icon status.
