I'm actually still concerned about the box leak because there have been more "trusted leakers" that have come out and the only characters they are confirmed are Ken and Incineroar.

They aren't saying those are the ONLY characters, but they also aren't naming any more

Except for the supposed SE character from Verg
But Leaky Pandy gave an explanation for that

Ah ok, so he immediately came out and admitted to faking it. Alright. it seemed like way too much to end on anyway. Plus, Pokefloats 1 hasn't even been confirmed and he's guaranteeing a pokefloats 2? There was a lot in there easy to dismiss. The only people it was believable to were those whose most wanted characters were in it.

Also, excuse me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 'Ultimate Lifeform' has already been confirmed for Smash Ultimate: Mewtwo

I would actually enjoy a Minecraft rep I'd rather the Creeper than Steve, though.

However, I'd be disappointed if Steve actually came before Banjo-Kazooie.

I could actually kind of see Steve as an assist trophy, they aren't animated as much as actual characters so he wouldn't feel out of place.
As a character would be absurd and would make way more people upset than happy.

I do find it interesting that we're revisiting 2001serpent though. I initially dismissed them, but if Vergeben says that they are likely legit than we have some reason to believe them.

Incineroar, Ken, maybe Shadow, Square Enix character (and maybe an echo; Sora and Roxas anyone?) and Steve would certainly be enough characters for another Smash Bros. Direct so that it matches the August Smash Direct and beats it out in terms of hype. If they're aiming to keep up the hype, what better way to do so than by announcing some big third party characters.

Steve would definitely be this game's scapegoat, like R.O.B. and Dark Pit before him, I could even see him getting even more hate than those given how lofty a lot of people's expectations are atm, not to mention he's direct competition for Banjo in a sense. I'm not a fan myself as Minecraft never clicked for me, so I'll likely never care for him, but at the same time I won't actively hate him as long as he's implemented well (and I trust the Smash team's ability to make him fit in).

Barbarba for sure won't be getting in, since her series hasn't made much of a splash (and she's too purple

), though I think they may recycle most of the 4 ones, since their assets can be ported over. Out of the Brawl ones only Mr. Resetti and Isaac could be promoted, and it'll obviously be the latter.

I never understood the hate for R.O.B personally, though I was a fan because of Mario Kart already.

Gee Bee is actually from a Namco arcade game that came before Pac-Man by two years (i think), their first arcade game. I felt the need to find out what a Gee Bee was, I got planes and an arcade bee.

I know, it has no arms, but you can do anything in Minecraft so...they might not care...?

Explosive attacks, firework rockets, maybe include other Minecraft creatures...

...I'm basically just sayin' this 'cause it's my favorite MC mob...

The ESRB leak had some false information too ya know? Some legit leakers add fake info in with real leaks just so they can be shrugged off by Nintendo and The fans.

I looked up that game and it's a turn based RPG created by Cygames. Nobuo Uematso (who did the music for the earlier FF games) does the music for it and Nintendo owns a 5% stake in Cygames. The game is exclusive to IOS, Android, and web browser though.

Eh, i wouldn't mind Creeper, but i'd still rather have Steven instead, he would be the perfect WTF character imo

I know a lot of people will be upset with a Minecraft character but it wouldn't be a bad addition at all considering how successful the game still is.

Remember that Smash also needs to draw younger people and potential new fans to the series too.

And while I'm at it, and I know I might get flak for considering this, a Fortnite character could even be a DLC candidate.

Ugh! This again. Dillon is incredibly different from Sonic aside from rolling around. Dillon is actually quite sluggish on foot when he's not rolling, and attacks with claw swipes, bombs, burrowing, and other moves Sonic cannot do.

Stop insisting Dillon should be a Sonic echo. Dillon's roll attack has more in common with Jigglypuff's Rollout than Sonic's Spin Dash anyway.

People are saying that most likely because his AT is their only exposure to the character, and they most likely haven't played any of the Dillon's Rolling Western games. I do think that Dillon cannot be a Sonic echo.

Minecraft may be popular, but is Steve?
There are significantly better ways to represent the series than just adding the default skin of the player avatar, especially when you play in first person (or I have always at least) more often.

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

I'd rather play Parcheesi.
