[Ramen Tengoku]

I'm half expecting a Rhythm Heaven stage.

But not necessarily tied to a newcomer.

Getting just a Rhythm Heaven Stage and no character would give me such mixed emotions. On one hand at least with a stage, Rhythm Heaven would finally be getting it's due in Smash. But on the other, No character means it will be less likely for casuals to remember. Be honest, Do you guys even remember Hanenbow's game Elektroplankton? I'm assuming not many of you. But when you add a Character into the mix, The franchise is much more memorable. Take Marth and Shulk in Melee and Smash 4 Respectively for instance, After they became characters, people instantly carved the Names of Fire Emblem and Xenoblade in their minds, and their franchises went on to be hits. Rhythm Heaven doesn't do well here in the United States. Up to the point that Megamix got a Digital Only release here, while Japan got it both digital and Physical. If a character from the franchise gets into smash, It can make people much more aware of the franchise, and end up actually playing it. Meaning, more sales...
So yeah, I really hope we get a Character, Just so the franchise doesn't die.

If I was the director of Smash I think people would probably be very confused as to why a pig armadillo thing from an old DS game is a unique fighter.

Don't worry, this fanbase wants a puppet thing from an old SNES game.

Charizard. Genuinely my least favorite Pokémon, would cut in a heartbeat.

EDIT: Except Miis. I just can’t understand why anyone likes them. I still wouldn’t want them removed though.

I really didn’t want them to be but I’m slowly warming up to them. Hopefully, they will be tournament legal this time.

We should test them fairly just like any other character. At the end of the day, even if they got their full movesets they will never be Bayonetta levels of oppressive so who am I to complain?

That's not really a buzzkill, imo. This idea isn't new.

I just want to jump in and say that everyone (myself included) is so character focused. We don't want to think they only have 2 character's left because that would be dissapointing or whatever, especially considering the momentum that's already built up. But that's only because we are basing our excitement around what CHARACTERS will make it into the game.

What if Sakurai's big final reveal is the "Spirits" mode and it completely blows away all expectations and is the big finale of excitement that people are expecting to get from characters? (Not to mention potential online features)

To be fair, cutting any character at all would probably generate anger somewhere.

That said, I'd cut Lucina. I just have never liked her.

Thanks to 's remote bombs and lack of tether, there is more of a reason to have the small Links than ever.

Whaaaaaaat!?! () The new bombs are amazing! Their blast range is insane and the remote explosion mechanic makes them way more dangerous! Plus it's not only a zoning tool (like the boomerang and arrows... ) it has decent knockback now!

Spoiler: Bombs

• Due to the general change in how the Remote Bomb Rune damages opponents, the overall damage potential from the move has been greatly increased.
• The Remote Bomb Rune has an exponentially larger blast radius compared to the previous Bombs.
• Remote Bomb Rune has significantly higher knockback, as well as a more favorable horizontal angle than Link's previous Bombs. Additionally, the direction in where the opponent is relative to the bomb determines where they are sent, increasing not only its potential combo setups, but also increasing its edge-guarding potential.

I feel ya for the tether recovery but the grab will be much better the way it'll be in Ulimate, hookshot/clawshot grab was cool and all but the ending lag and the punish that follows this move is hardcore. Plus Link is getting some sweet buffs to compensate for the lack of tether recovery:

• Link's jump height and dashing speed are noticeably higher and faster than they were previously, respectively.
• Link can now reuse his double jump if hit during his aerial Spin Attack.

I understand your love for the other smaller Links but i'd bet the triforce that you're going to love .

If the only game out for FE was FE1 I could so see Merric making it in. He's actually pretty important in the story. Virion though, probably the most confusing one there. And Henry instead of Andy ;-;

I would also love Castform playable cause its cute

Don't get me wrong, I want to try out BotW Link myself but my argument is that Link's changes make Young/Toon Link more distinct.

Thoughts on this roster? I would appreciate any feedback as I finetune it.

What I like about your roster:
Elma: I always thought Elma had better moveset potential than Rex and Pyra...
Rhythm Heaven: Assuming my Profile Pic is Rhythm Heaven related, this inclusion makes me very happy... It's really the only ongoing Nintendo franchise to not yet have a character... And assuming how the sales for the Franchise are doing, I think it's now or never...
Crash: Out of all the western Third Party Characters, He seems one of the most likely, Not only is he Popular here in the west, but he's also pretty popular in Japan. the only thing holding him back is how likely he actually is. He's still a western third party... we have yet to have one in smash... But assuming how many rules Sakurai is Breaking with this game, it's really only a matter of time before we get one.
Isaac: Mostly for the fans (I'm not a fan of him as much, but I understand he is very well demanded...)

What I don't like as Much... But will still tolerate:
Decidueye: This mostly out of my hate for Decidueye, and my anticipation torwards Inicineroar. But I understand that he is popular for a reason.

What kinda Bothers Me
Scorpion: The problem with Scropion is that while he is iconic in the west, He's not as much in Japan. In fact Japan haven't seen a MK game Released in their region in nearly 20 years...

Oh we are talking about DLC again?
Here was my predictions/wants

If the final roster is capped off with Ken, Incineroar and Geno. My hopes for DLC if added:

1. Issac
2. Shadow
3. Rex + Pyra&Mythra
4. Dixie Kong
5. Rayman
6. Travis Touchdown
7. Banjo & Kazooie

I only picked 7 because Smash Wii U had 7 DLC additions.
Who knows, if Smash Ultimate does do DLC there might be less, might be more.

In addition I assume they will add Mii costumes and hopefully costumes for the actual characters this time around.

I just really like Virion lol. I was this close to adding Silque for the same reason.

I've always been of the opinion that if Merric were in any series other than Fire Emblem he'd be seen as a shoo-in. Best friend of the main character, has his own signature weapon that would bring a unique anti-air magical play style, is relatively plot important, was the first playable Mage, and was visually distinct from the rest of the cast.

The only issue is that he'd go against how his series picks characters, which seals his doom.
