To follow up on my current final prediction of newcomers for Base. How satisfied would you guys be if these were the DLC?
Uniques:
Bandana Dee
Banjo-Kazooie
Isaac
Rex & Pyra
Skull Kid
Echo Fighters:
Black Knight
Dixie Kong
Felix
Medusa
Octoling
I'm gonna have to keep it real with you, chief. This is underwhelming. And here's why. I've explained it before, but I'll re-iterate that Smash 4 had a HIGH calibur DLC line-up, with one exception that we all allowed. Mewtwo, Lucas and Roy were all fan-favorites that people wanted for so long - Mewtwo brought us Etika, people cried when Lucas was revealed, and ROY GOT VENGEANCE!
Aside from that... We got non-stop AAA names.
Ryu from Street Fighter.
Bayonetta from... Well, Bayonetta.
Then... Cloud Strife. From FINAL FANTASY VII. Which before the Wii U passed and Switch lived on, this game had NEVER appeared on a Nintendo console.
If Smash Ultimate were to have DLC, it HAS to keep up the tradition of having some big names, not to mention, you're paying money for them in the first place, too, so this adds even more importance to each character added to the DLC side of things. This is kinda why I feel as if characters like Rex & Pyra or Banjo-Kazooie being DLC would be controversial; like for example, we went from Ryu, Lucas, Mewtwo and Cloud Strife to... Banjo-Kazooie, Rex & Pyra, Spring-Man and Octoling? It doesn't have that WOW factor, that PUNCH to justify the $6.99. Not to mention, people expect a lot of these characters in the base roster anyway.
Ultimate's DLC is gonna be a real rollercoaster, I tell ya.
