Well Isabelle sure threw me for a loop considering I was expecting an echo. I now feel only 3 more non-echoes max.

Incineroar revealed during a small Pokemon direct which also announces gen 8 and some let's go stuff.

Geno and Skull Kid during the final smash direct because I'm now feeling that 103 could be the final stage count.

They’re not announcing Gen 8 before Let’s Go released.

You’re not just going to tease a gigantic amazing game right before a smaller one comes out. It would cost Let’s Go a noticeable amount of sales I think, if you just showed everyone how superior Gen 8 might be.

Also Smash newcomers are never announced in another game’s directs.

Isabelle too peaceful,Bayo too M rated, Mega Man, Ryu and Pac-Man got cut in reality. And no one would EVER bring back Young Link. No one likes clones so Daisy, Dark Samus and Chrom can't happen.

While I can kinda see that complaint, I'm super into Animal Crossing, love it, one of my favorite Nintendo franchises in general, and the announcement had me laughing pretty hard. Loved it.

But yeah I can kinda see if I step back from it how people might find it a bit underwhelming. But maaaan, I loved it haha

But we got Final Fantasy VII, IX, XII, X and X-2 HD Remaster next year.

This is VERY shocking to see, especially FFVII coming onto a Nintendo console after 20 years. So, this brings me to the question. With seeing how Square is now going all in on Switch support, which probably have been in the works even before Octopath Traveler's release...

I think the FF music thing likely has to do with the FF7 composer being, reportedly, a PITA to work with, than Square, as the composer has left Square and is on his own now.

Which is why I'm hoping for another FF game to get a character because all of the series' awesome music can probably go there.

He maybe a pain, but you know that Sakurai got that STACKED bank account. Once Sakurai pulls out them YENNIES, I feel Uematsu would take the chance, ya feel me lmao

They’re already doing it with Elma, Chorus Kids, and anyone that isn’t a Gen7/Ken/anyone still surviving leakswise. At least Skull Kid is basically out of the running now

I just wish one of these two would happen:
1. Verg somehow finds out about more characters
2. A surprise reveal happens that isn’t one of the commonly leaked characters

I guess I’m starting to get pessimistic now despite said characters not being deconfirmed and DLC being an almost definite possibility...

Everyone really thinks Skull Kid is out just because loz18 seems to be full of s###? I never let loz impact what I thought of Skull Kid's chances and I thought he was likely from the moment the moon was shown as an assist trophy.

But I agree it is incredibly annoying that people are saying random characters now that haven't been mentioned yet by Verg or others are out of the running.

C'mon guys, how did Isabelle kill off half of the top speculated characters? It makes zero sense.

As in, the ESRB leaker who leaked the entire game.

That was the person who shared the videos from the ESRB worker, one of several with access to the footage, not the ESRB worker who recorded the video his/herself. That said, I do have some trouble imagining that the completed Dante trailer would be in the possession of anyone in the Capcom offices at the point in time that the DMCV leaks were posted, but at the same time I don't know why someone with that much legitimate firsthand inside information would make anything up, especially something so elaborate as an entire reveal trailer and character details.

Doesn't help too she's without a doubt probably and arguably the most iconic video game female protagonist. I surely would definitely welcome her in Smash.

She doesn't have history with Nintendo but rather video game history as a whole for that very reason.

Well, Geno and Lloyd seem like the other two possible characters to get in Smash with costumes. Geno is pretty obvious, however I feel Lloyd may have a chance people are sleeping on, and may be popular during the ballot to get in, and his costume may also be a consolation prize since he was popular.

Thank you for correcting me. Point stands that they had insider information and went on to make a fake leak, though.
The Dante leak is honestly a complete mystery at this point. IIRC it got some points wrong but I'm not an expert.

And agreed. Much better third-party choice then Dante due to having an huge history with video gaming as the most iconic female video game protagonist. PSABR had Nathan Drake and so Smash would have Lara Croft. Win-win.
