Not quite. If I recall, General Scales possessed the final Krazoa Spirit, and after he gave it to Fox, he collapses, and is presumed to be dead afterwards.

Well you might be right. I haven’t played the game in 10 years so my memory is a bit foggy.

It's a shame that General Scales is a mostly forgettable villain though. When you finally do get to face him, all that he does is wait for you to attack. And when you do attack, Andross quickly intervenes and orders Scales to give Fox the Krazoa Spirit.

A bit off-topic, but it's pretty sad to see what happened to all of the major Dinosaur Planet based character. General Scales had all of his build-up amount to a glorified cutscene, Drakor got downgraded from being a major antagonist to a random boss, Krystal was turned into a damsel in distress for the majority of the game, Kyte doesn't even exist in the game proper (unless you count the Cloudrunner that's in the cage), and Saber was folded into Fox. The only one that didn't seem to lose anything in the transition to Star Fox was Tricky as at least he remained a companion character.

I do still like Star Fox Adventure, but I will admit that I wish they integrated the characters better.

I posted this on Discord earlier today, and I’m not sure what suddenly inspired me, but I randomly thought of a Waluigi moveset.

Fighting Style: Always wielding a tennis racket, using tennis moves and long kicks.

Throws:
>Waluigi serves the opponent like a tennis ball
<Tennis backhand
^Upwards kick
V Axe kick

Specials:
B- Service: Waluigi serves a tennis ball projectile. Once it hits someone, it bounces back to Waluigi. Waluigi can bounce it indefinitely as long as he hits it again with any racket attack. Only one ball may be present at a time.

B> Whirluigi: Waluigi rapidly spins with his racket. Pushes opponents and reflects projectiles. In the air, allows Waluigi to move horizontally.

B^ Waluigi Copter: Waluigi does a handstand and combo kick that traps opponents, like the Mario Tornado. In the air, it allows Waluigi to fly freely during the duration of the move.

BV Stomp: Waluigi pummels the ground rapidly with his leg, burying opponents.

FS: Actually haven’t decided yet. Thoughts?

I wanted to make it really Tennis based because that’s what I most associate Waluigi with; it’s his origin, and I think what’s particularly special to him from the other Mario characters.

Going back to this because I believe that this is one of, if not the most important things Sakurai has said indicating the possibility of third-party characters in Smash Bros.

The question is, what are the "major globally-recognized franchises" that are left? If I had to speculate, here's some I'd say:

• Kingdom Hearts
• Persona
• Cave Story (most likely indie choice imo)
• Monster Hunter
• Devil May Cry
• Tales of
• Tekken (previously considered)
• Minecraft
• DOOM (significant to gaming history)
• Crash Bandicoot (if it's popular in Japan).

Tomb Raider, Frogger, Candy Crush, Tetris, The Sims, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Angry Birds, Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, Starcraft, Halo, Prince of Persia, Resident Evil, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Pong, Overwatch, PUBG, Fortnite, Skylanders, Grand Theft Auto, Galactica...

There are a lot of games that have impacted the sphere of gaming.

Maybe not at the top of the top but pretty high up there. When you talk about famous or popular video game villains he usually enters the conversation. The fact that his role is so large in FF6 means people talk about him more, and there's more opportunities for people who haven't played his game to stumble upon conversation about him.

Dunno where this downplaying of Dr. Wily comes from. He's been the main villain of over a dozen games since 1987, not to mention the cartoon gave him tons of meme power. Most people who have played video games as a hobby would probably recognize him if you posted a picture of him.

Even if you stumble upon, upon him he's the popular clown lookin FF Villain, since his character is biggest point, he doesn't leave that strong mark from just reading about him. He's pretty popular, but to the general gamer isn't quite that iconic.

I feel Wily has more meme potential than actual meme power. But i'm just not sure he's quite that recognizable. But my main point is that i think both just aren't that iconic outside of those and aligned series fanbases.

He has no importance for one due (Which Sakurai says is one of the ways of making the cut) to only starring in spin-off sports games (He doesn't even appear in the WarioWare games which says something) and only reason people really wants him is for the meme which Sakurai even admits is the only reason people wants him and won't add him.

At least with Daisy she's starred in main games such as Super Mario Land and Super Mario Run hence her getting in over him.

It's the same reason Lana if she appears in some form will be an Assist Trophy due to being from spin-off games as well.

Heck Ashley at least deserves a spot as she's a main character in the WarioWare games.

Lowkey hoping that Xenoblade doesn't get a music track this week because of the music theory for newcomers. If we get a Xeno track without a reveal then it probably means we won't get Elma in the base game, and I fear her relevance for this game's development is her best shot.

The moon is the source to many theories, notably the big boy "LInK iS DeAd Oh mY GoD!"

This could be another theory that has circled the internet, but my understanding is that the Moon was not actually the moon, but actually a manifestation of Majora's power/self consciousness? Which is why it's a magic place to explore inside of it? Not sure.

After the backlash from his AT role in Ultimate I'm pretty sure Sakurai will try and include him in the next game. The same thing happened with Ridley.

I'm likely missing a few here.

Halo and Dragon Quest come to mind, but lack popularity in certain regions (Japan for Halo, America/Europe for Dragon Quest). Mortal Kombat is a pipe dream at best as the Japanese dislike it's gory nature.

Banjo & Kazooie will be carried purely off of fan-demand alone and the fact that they're closer to Nintendo characters than other third parties, and Travis Touchdown will be carried by Suda51 and Sakurai being buddies.
