What do people think of the idea of General Scales w/ King RedEye as a boss?

I can imagine that sometimes General Scales will be riding King RedEye but sometimes will then jump off with both becoming two separate bosses you must face at the same time before keeps going vice-versa.

It'd be a really fun boss honestly.

A character I'm honestly surprised Sakurai had never considered making playable is Meowth considering his popularity due to the anime. He just feels like he could had been part of the roster since Melee. He also feels he could had been part of the original 12 but do understand why Jigglypuff was chosen over him. She was rather popular at that time.

Too bad he's a Poke Ball again because he could had worked perfectly as Pikachu's rival/villain for the heroes vs. villains/rival theme seemingly going on so far.

I’m desperately hoping Team Rocket’s appearance in Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee will help Meowth (or Meowth, Arbok, Weezing team aka “Team Rocket”) finally get in the next Smash after Ultimate.

But I fear their appearance in the Pokémon Yellow remake isn’t good enough. What Meowth/Team Rocket really need is more people loudly demanding for them... that Sakurai would finally include them... like he did for Ridley and King K. Rool... but there’s a deafening silence within the Smash fanbase.

Maybe the Pokémon fanbase likes Meowth/Team Rocket more than the Smash fanbase does? I don’t know but at least Meowth was #82 out of 700+ Pokémon in 2016 (according to this) so that’s something. Squirtle and Ivysaur didn’t even make the top 100 and almost half of the top 100 were Legendary Pokémon!

Despite the lackluster support, I truly believe that many people will be very happy with Meowth/Team Rocket as a new playable fighter in Smash if it actually happens... and I suspect historical revisionism will happen if they actually got in.

So I'm going to be in the LA area in a week and might get a chance to have a try at the Ultimate Demo. Thing is, I have other plans and I'm not sure I'll have enough time to play it twice, especiqlly of the lines are really bad, so I'll have to decide on the one character I really want to play as.

I'm torn between and . One of them is a favorite that I haven't had a chance to play as in forever and the other is my most hyped newcomer.

I know this is the first world problem of first world problems but the choice is killing me.

He'd be an odd choice over andross but I wouldn't be mad, I'd just be sad I can't fight him with Krystal.

It's a shame that General Scales is a mostly forgettable villain though. When you finally do get to face him, all that he does is wait for you to attack. And when you do attack, Andross quickly intervenes and orders Scales to give Fox the Krazoa Spirit.

Sakurai's managed to bring Pit and the Kid Icarus series back as well as many other things. Not too out of the question he couldn't surprise us honestly. Unfornately I don't think it will happen but I can dream. I think it'd be a very fun boss fight. Most times General Scales riding King RedEye but at times coming off and then having to fight them both at once before keep going vice versa.

I always implicitly ask about B&K

I'm not good at analyzing move-sets, as I play Smash for fun, though hoping Ultimate is the key to getting more serious with it (still for casual). I like it as it seems to play similarly to how I would be playing in Banjo-Kazooie. One issue I've always had is random eggs. I would think for movesets you'd want to reduce the randomness of certain moves. I've heard suggestions of perhaps how long you hold down the button determines what type of eggs you use.

Another idea I've had trying to incorporate the element of B&K being two fighters in one would be utilizing Talon Trot to move faster while using Kazooie-specific moves, like Wing Whack. Or perhaps Banjo specific moves, like spinning his backpack, could only occur when Kazooie is let out, running around and being vulnerable to attack. And when you're in full control of Kazooie, using moves like wing whack, Banjo takes a nap leaving him vulnerable. Though, again, that introduces an element of randomness. There's so many possibilities, though, depending on what angle Sakurai approaches it (if B&K makes it in, of course). I really think Banjo & Kazooie could be turned into such a unique fighter. My guess, though, is that Sakurai may only focus on Banjo-Kazooie moves, including using only basic eggs, rather than going crazy with all the stuff Tooie introduced. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he was able to make it work, though.

Actually, regarding the egg types, the Banjo/Kazooie support thread was ingenious with this idea. Hold shield and press b to change egg types. So, random eggs be damned.

Not quite. If I recall, General Scales possessed the final Krazoa Spirit, and after he gave it to Fox, he collapses, and is presumed to be dead afterwards.
