Birdo could work, only the B move would need changing. Instead of a tongue, Birdo inhales like Kirby, or maybe even like the Blunderbuss. Once she inhales someone, theyre spit out in an egg forward instead of laid in an egg backwards.

Yes! Blunderbuss as a move. But they would have to take away soo much from Yoshi- any egg move. So, his specials, really.
I think Yoshi's story would be perfectly represented with Yoshi, Birdo Echo, baby mario and luigi team as a unique character (sub other baby pairs we never actually saw), and then Poochi and Stork assists with a Kamek boss. This is the full Yoshi experience for which I've been waiting (I used to want Kamek as a character but I no longer feel it is correct).

Honestly, Birdo could work pretty well as a Yoshi echo. She's not a Yoshi's Island character, yeah, but just give her something like Dedede's Neutral B and it could work.

One problem with that Banjo leak is... why is he snarling?

That's like... antithetical to his character, and is completely different to all of the other Smash renders. Seriously, Banjo looks mad in that image, while I don't think a single one of the Ultimate Renders have that kind of emotion in them (they're all either happy or neutral).

Snarling is much more realistic behaviour for a bear, though, amirite?

Actually... speaking of Dark Samus and Ridley, there was a push for Sylux, though it was more due to fans believing they couldn't have Ridley, so they pushed for an alternative.

In Brawl, the Kirby series was considered complete in terms of character representation with , do Metroid fans consider Metroid "complete" with ? (I'm talking in terms of the characters, not the designs they use)

Just like a new character for Zelda isn't THAT requested, now that pre-existing characters got new designs and we got Young Link back.

Normally I'd be opposed to cross-series echo fighters, but Yoshi's Island is an exception because it's just as much a spin off as it is its own franchise. Yoshi's Island is a prequel to the Mario series and even features the plumber himself.

I'm not even sure if I'd consider it "cross-series" because the two games are so intertwined. Isn't Yoshi's Island even called "Super Mario World 2"?

It always felt more like an excuse to push for its support and make it feel "likely". I'd still love to have Sceptile as it's my favorite Gen 3 starter, I just don't see it ever happening.

What? No, it's only by debut order. And Smash 4 is ordered by series, which is exactly why Yoshi is between Bowser and Bowser Jr. in Smash 4.

Actually I don't think saying a render is too simialr to a previous render means anything, if that makes sense. For example Simon's is a call back to the NES game cover. Maybe Banjo's could be a call back to an official render, especially since it would be such a big deal for him to make his return.

Just saying that a render that's in the same pose might not necessarily be a point against it. I'm sticking to my oppinion about how angry he looks though lol.

Awesome. Pretty sure you know what I meant, though lol. What leak is the new 'omg, is it true?!' thing being discussed. I did like Wolf in Brawl though...should be fun to play as again. I preferred him to Fox & Falco.

EDIT: So there's a banjo render floating around now? Nice to see the render leaks are becoming more common and we seem to be moving away from Text leaks.

While I agree it would've made more sense to show it off then if it already existed, I don't think it's completely off the table yet. The option to reorder the CSS likely isn't a huge ordeal. Wouldn't suprise me if they randomly dropped that in a future wave of info, possibly once the last character is revealed.

So that final smash graphic where it zooms up on the characters face, I saw that when the yellow Inkling did that, it showed the yellow Inkling in the close up. Is this consistent with other swaps for characters that are not as drastic as the Inklings?

For those saying by series isn't an option, it is on the site. And I took that to speculate that we will get the option to do both, especially since we are be given custom CSS options already (the echo stacking). I can see it being shown in the direct that reveals all characters.

I personally really hope we get that as an aoption, much perfer my characters organized by series.

I really hope series order is a thing because Smash debut order is probably the most stupid design choice in this game.
Even if you played past Smash games, unless you followed and remember the order of reveals, it's just a bungled mess with no cohesion to it, I can just imagine me playing it with my friends and no one knowing where anything is. And besides, it always felt nice to look at a series all filled with a bunch of characters and I wanna see that with Fire Emblem and Metroid this time.

If not, at least give us an option to manually organize it

This isn't about Disney, this is about Netflix. They don't keep any of the movies you want there on there forever. And if you have no internet available you can't access it.

My point is that I don't want my classic games only available to me when Nintendo decides they are available to me, Netflix style. I want them on my system forever. Not attatched to an online service. Right there on my system so I can play it anytime and anywhere.

This is why I’m glad I never sold my Wii and Wii U. I have more than 300 games combined downloaded on both systems.

DLC and the clones were exceptions, not the rule.

Im not saying thsi is real, but the in game render could just be very well based on an existing render, like Simon and Richter.

While I'd agree, I would think if Banjo's render is based on anything, it would be the original box art. Like (how I think) Simon's render/pose is based on his original box art.

To be fair, I often notice something I've called "Smash face", where a character looks uncharacteristically "read for battle". While Mario in his official render doesn't look "angry" per-se--it's still a face I don't expect Mario to make in his typical games (and especially that Tournament Mode stare is funny because of how uncharacteristic it is). Sakurai has said that he does like to have some artistic liberties when working with characters. All that having been said, IGuessItsOver posting the comparison makes it an open-and-shut case for me--the differences are minor tweaks that could be made, when compared to the major similarities.

Guys i'm an industry insider and Sakurai has already began talks with western companies regarding Smash Bros DLC. He's personally attended meetings at Activision, Ubisoft, and Microsoft.

I don't know about Gangplank on Pirate Ship (make it happen Sakurai) but I could see them doing that with the Yoshi and Mario games, letting you use either on either stage.
