Melee HD would only appeal to the competitive audience, more specifically the competitive Melee audience, which is a very minor part of the Smash fanbase and an even smaller part of the Nintendo fanbase.¿Porque no los dos?
Taking the time to make an HD port of that game is not worth it. There's less than half the amount of characters and stages than in 4 and it's a lot more technical, so it would automatically drive away the casual audience. They'd have to rely on the previously mentionned tiny minority that actually plays Melee competitively to get any profit and prevent it from being a flop. Alternatively, they balance things up and it's no longer as technical as the original, pissing the Melee fans off.
There's honeslty more chances of a Virtual Console rerelease than a port for this game.
Well, all lot of the stuff you mention was last seen in Melee, so I assumed that... You know what? You're right, I shouldn't have done that. Sorry.Melee is actually my least favorite in the series. So hell no. I'm actually offended that you would suggest something so stupid as a Melee remake and try to stamp that on me.
