You don't have to take the console, just the cartridge. I'd be bamboozled if they made Switches only with the sole intention to put the Ultimate demo on there and then just trash it.

More the idea the entire way he got the demo just doesn't make sense anyway.

If you're asking how fast that trailer could be put together? You'd be surprised. I don't know how fast the Japanese are this but if it's anything like the US trailer houses, that Simon trailer could be done in two months.

It's a weird choice, but Tekken has never really had a discernable theme so whatever haha. Street Fighter, despite being sorta generic, has a stronger theme with it's fighters representing countries (usually).

But like seriously, what would be more out of place in Tekken, Neegan, a Power Ranger, or Link? I'm not even sure honestly

To be fair many of Tekken's characters also are based on a certain nationality and have fighting styles that match up with it. Jin has Karate, King's a luchador, Eddy and Christie are Brazilian so they do the Capo fighting style. And Geese makes perfect sense as a guest.

Don't know what's up with Neegan, but it's got people talking and memeing it up.

I mean... if Project M can do it...

I just want the Multi-Player suits from Prime 2 as color swaps. The Dark Green and the Blue w/Orange Lights were cool.

Wait has coin mode been confirmed yet? I always assumed it would be in but I didn’t see it when they showed off time, stock, and stamina mode.

I'm not an animator but I'm very fascinated by the process of it. Mostly 2D, but god the amount of work that is put into it is crazy. It takes a lot of time.

The only themes that Tekken holds dear are the realistic body proportions (by fighting game standards, anyway; they're still idealized, but they aren't cartoonish) and not taking itself seriously unless it's a Mishima/Kazama character.

It just still seems so out of left field. I want to find the one guy somewhere who actually wished that Negan was in Tekken and congratulate him on getting the most specific, out-of-left-field gift anyone has ever received.

Aria of Sorrow was the first Castlevania I ever beat. Fond memories there.

But Symphony of the Night was the second (Or possibly third) and I played the hell out of that game.

I've seen people question whether Dark Samus is a woman because of Dark ******* or whatever.

You don't want Damus to take the suit off.

IF characters get more than 8 colors this time around, for Mario I just want the Fire Mario suit back. It was the costume I used the most for him. Mega Man could use a Purple color swap. Preferably the Flash Stopper/Black Hole Bomb version. Maybe a more obscure color too.

Ridley's got all the suits you'd want him to have. Ryu has another Super Turbo alt they haven't used(that game has 9 colors for each fighter), which was his Darker Green Gi. But I think most other people would want a color swap or two referencing Ken/Sean/Akuma/Evil Ryu/Dan.

I'd be happy if Charcoal Kirby(Black with Orange) was made.

Well, to be clear, I wasn't trying to make them seem equal. I'm not a fan of the prospect of Goku getting in, and I don't even like that Cloud is in the game.

The crossovers in fighting games are just starting to get absurd, and I like bringing up Tekken's weird choices any chance I get.

Next guest character will probably be Daenerys or Arya Stark. Just to fit the theme...

Crossovers do seem to be the rage recently. Injustice 2 with Sub-Zero, Hellboy, TMNT, etc. MK with Jason, Alien, etc. Tekken with Noctis and Negan. Smash though is a different entity entirely and I fully support it being seen as “Video Game: The Game” by celebrating both the history of Nintendo and gaming in general. So yeah, I’m down with iconic but non-Nintendo characters getting in. Just proves how big Smash actually is.

I like this idea and want to play, but can't in good conscience choose from a list that contains a third party horror rep and not a first party one. Also, where's Saki? Y'all need to play Sin and Punishment. It's awesome. You won't regret it. Seriously, what are you doing? Buy it already.

Something I was thinking about in relation to future of Smash Bros...

While the next game definitely can't top Ultimate in terms of sheer content, something it can do to garner positive fan response is continue Ultimate's trend of adding characters from all eras of Nintendo history. People have never been so excited to speculate about Smash Bros, thanks to reveals like Ridley and K. Rool showing that old rules can be broken and fan demand can be listened to. In terms of viable additions for future games, you have

• One-offs from long running series (franchises like Zelda especially benefit from this; instead of 3 Links we could get the likes of Midna or Vaati)
• Newest representations of on-going series that change cast each game (Fire Emblem, Xenoblade and Pokemon)
• New IPs as they come out
• Former assist trophies in two categories
  • 3rd Party Characters: Alucard or Mega Man X would make fantastic fighters, and if they had to swap out Belmont or Mega Man in a future game they'd be fantastic options
  • First or 2nd Party Characters: If they gain relevance like Little Mac, or even just including characters who are still popular. Lyn, Waluigi, Isaac, etc come to mind

If they tear off the band-aid of "not all 80 characters are turning" fast enough and make up for it with "the new additions are all exciting" I think people could accept it.

The animation houses over here that specialize in trailer work (and commercials) are usually pretty big. That's why, lol.

What's striking about the Simon trailer is just how many assets Digitial Frontier was responsible for making.

That might be the official Luigi model, but nothing else is a pre-existing asset, nor are Simon and Richter even the same hi-resolution models the Smash team used (Simon, in particular, is way more bishie in the trailer than his render). Plus they had to make the whole castle, mummies, medusa, the Reaper, etc. Notably absent from the CG sections was Dracula himself, however, which is why I don't personally buy into the theory that these trailer cutscenes might be used for the story mode, should there be one.

K.Rool's trailer, in comparison, is quite a bit easier to put together. DK's treehouse is completely barren when compared to the Drac's castle set and the jungle set looks like the same three or four foliage assets duplicated. Though, again, the K.Rool asset is not the same asset used in K.Rool's render, so they built that, too.
