If we take Skull kid's moon as his absolute move to be considered a final smash, we are definitely discarding what the actual fight against him in the game was and existed to begin with, and what he is capable of. It's like saying Thanos' is as powerful as just bringing down a moon in pieces (which he did, lol), and everything else he is capable of doesn't deserve to be a signature move or everything else he can do isn't "better"… So yeah, let's think about how big of a deal is to give Skull kid a final smash more accordingly to what all his powers actually can do, rather than just bringing down moons…

EXACTLY. It's not Skull kid's power of bringing it down that destroys the world… it's the moon ITSELF that destroys everything because… well… it's a freaking moon… why the heck else, lol. I think it's a perfect move of Sakurai to separate the moon from Skull kid. And if he so wants to, he can include the moon again in Skull kid's final smash + even more crazy bananas with what majora's mask can actually do and become a super destructive final smash. If Rathalos can be both an AT and a boss, I know the moon could be both an AT and part of a final smash (combined with other stuff to not be repetitive).

His function as an AT has been filled by a different, new AT. And the moon is now the rep for Majora's Mask as far as AT's are concerned. Meaning Skull Kid is probably not coming back.

Considering how popular he is, if he doesn't come back as an AT - The next step up is character

As much as people seem to dislike acknowledging its existence, there is the Bowser’s Castle third of the Paper Mario stage, now in HD (although I don’t think they’ve shown it yet.) Still counts.

True. I really want to see Skull Kid be able to summon the Moon for that reason. It would just fit so much!

The patience a person must have passing the time by shooting coins at trophies....on a game with over 70 iconic characters with which to do battle in a multitude of ways.

1) AT is still missing. Even though popular characters got shown off quick, like Waluigi and Ashely. Dark Samus got upgraded

2) He got a Mii Costume, like K Rool, Daisy, Chrom, and Inklings

3) MM remake came out the same year Ultimate was planned

4). He probably did pretty well in the polls considering his, MM, and Zelda’s popularity.

5) Ramblin Evil Mushroom and Moon AT steal some of his thunder if he were to remain an AT

• Moon AT has Skull kid missing in it.
• Young link's final smash hasn't been shown yet for some reason + termina field music is in the background of his video in the official smashbros site. (imo this is a hint because why would Young link with his OoT design have MM music in the background?… and why no final smash shown? to me it just means he will be MM focused despite his OoT design, which might hint more MM representation, hence Skull kid)
• The whole chairs and cushion thing might be a far reach but at the same time the colors and patterns just fit to Skull kid and the fairies.
• Either verge or loz18 had a source implying heavily that Skull kid is gonna be playable (i can't remember who of those two said it).

Skull skid has yet to be shown as an assist trophy and the moon has been shown(could be construed as being a replacement for a majora’s mask rep). People are hoping he’s been promoted because of it. No huge evidence, but it’s enough to get the noggin rolling.

i dont know if i said exactly that or not but id agree and say i tend to go with verge over lok18 but i do think they are both legit.

verge just seems more trustable to me or maybe thats not the right word exactly... verge seems to say his "leaks" clearly and talks about his separate sources and if hes sure of something or if hes unsure of soemthing... lok18 purposely made his account hard to follow and posts his own speculation a lot, sometimes a bit unclearly among what hes leaking, some of the original stuff in his leak was a bit fuzzy and seemed to be assumptions among real info (again i think hes real just the way he leaks is a bit unhelpful sometimes).

so while i believe both of them, verge seems cautious and used to leaking info (as hes done it before and felt the backlash) and lok18 seems a bit more all over the place about how he does things, i dunno just my opinion i dont think it makes ones info more real over the others.

for an example: verge said the source of isabelle is the same as his source for simon, so i find that highly credible. lok18 made it hard to tell if his leaker deconfirmed isabelle, if they just told him they hadnt seen isabelle, or if he just personally doesnt think isabelle will happen of his own speculation. the truth is lok18 is saying no isabelle as a bit of a combo of the last two but no solid deconfirmation such as a source seeing isabelle as an assist trophy or something, is just lok18 hasnt heard isabelle and has decided to guess for himself she isnt in.

so yeah i just find verge a bit better about that sort of thing. i still believe lok18 saying skull kid probly means we will get skull kid, so again i think they are both to some extent getting real info.

That makes a lot of sense. I believe Vergeben more than loz18 as well, but it does seem like they both have real sources. In terms of Isabelle, Vergeben's sources seem real, while loz18 just doesn't know anything concrete about her, so he can't say for sure if she's in or not, just that he feels like she won't be. Of course, since Vergeben is also credible, one would think that loz18 would want to believe Vergeben and think that Isabelle is in. Nonetheless, I'll still choose to believe that she is in fact in and that maybe the reason loz18 doesn't believe she's in is because he just thinks she doesn't fit for the game. Young Link's FS not being shown isn't a point in favor. As has already been suggested, it's possible that Skull Kid is in it. But even if he's not, what FS would they be hiding that would point in his favor? I would think even a Fierce Diety FS wouldn't suggest Skull Kid because it's the most obvious FS for him by a large margin

Probably not a popular opinion, but I loved the Coin Launcher. It gave me something to do with all the coins and the music was great.

I don't see HOW in the world would young link use his final smash against someone with the HELP of Skull kid. It's like Adult link having a final smash that includes Ganondorf in it…just… how? makes no sense. Someone enlighten me on this.
