Not liking something is not the same as doubting something. Why on earth wouldn't there be a robobot stage?

Eh I dislike and doubt it at the same time. While I can get if Sakurai decided to do a recent Kirby title, this would be the one to do it, I don't think he would go that route. Kirby has a Fire Emblem like syndrome where games are set in vastly different settings between titles. Sakurai prefers the Kirby stages and themes that are more iconic. Kirby's Final Smash is still Ultra Sword because that is one of the most recognizable things modern Kirby has. But Robobot? It feels like its own thing that HAL moved on from, considering how Allies is radically different in its approach.

I really think Sakurai will add a Kirby's Epic Yarn stage or a stage from Adventure/Dream Land/Super Star/Air Ride as he feels those stages are unique or proven to be interesting. Maybe we will get Star Allies content for DLC, who knows.

Shadow is just whatever for me. I got him in my sig but thats mostly just nostalgia.

I only care if he is an Echo or not. Is he in the game as a semi-clone? Neato. Completely original? Alright. Not in the game at all? Dank.

It's really sad when a leaker is good at saying stuff that make a lot of sense and will probably happen, but then he gets careless and throws in his own stupid ideas like "The speed shoes from Sonic are an item."

Why would that be an item when the Bunny Hood already is. If you're going to have a Sonic item, why not Omochao? Or say "The bumper item will be replaced with the bumper from Sonic The Hedgehog."

I honestly feel if there's a character in a pre-existing role, such as a Pokeball item or Assist Trophy they're still viable as DLC, but that's just me.

Kaptain K. Rool is the playable one, King K. Rool is the assist trophy. According to the totally accurate Brawl trophy, they're brothers.

"His brother, Kaptain K. Rool, made an appearance in the game Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest."

To be fair, since a Gen 7 Pokemon is Pretty Much Inevitable™, I'm not sure Dusk Lycanroc would really be that big of a stretch, especially since a Pokemon X and Y newcomer was reserved a slot in the last game (despite that game coming over a year later than when the roster was finalized). It would just be a repeat of something that happened with Pokemon already, and since Pokemon was already made an exception, that wouldn't be much of a game changer.

Spring Man and a Champion on the other hand would definitely catch people off-guard.

If you wanna believe me asap, Mr. Game and Watch's character trailer will be shown off on the blog tonight. Come back here after it happens.

- Nintendo Direct in August, illustrates new game mode to unlock characters, shows off the menu, shows off more final smashes and some other tweaks, reveals a few more returning stages and 1 new one plus New Donk City.

- I have no info on the new character revealed in August direct.

- Chrom isn't an echo fighter, he's still in Robin's final smash. It hasn't been shown off because they added other characters to it.

- New Donk City is a traveling stage. Not much else to say, imagine Delfino Plaza or Skyloft but New Donk City instead.

- R.O.B. and Peach both have completely new Final Smashes. Several other characters like Yoshi and Diddy Kong have the same Final Smash, except Diddy's is practically a clone of Snake's mechanically now and Yoshi's is just a cutscene Final Smash. Several other final smashes have some cosmetic tweaks.

- Brinstar, Corneria, Fountain of Dreams, Yoshi's Island (Brawl), Delfino Plaza, Hanenbow, Reset Bomb Forest, Gerudo Valley and Gamer are shown off as returning stages in the direct.

- Assist trophies are also shown off. Isaac, Magalor, Blue*, Celica, Chibi Robo, Lottie, DK Jr., The Helmasaur King, and King K Rool are all shown off in a compilation.
*Blue simply releases a bunch of Pokeballs at random.

- There are also a few new/returning items. Fan and DK Barrel are back. Ramblin' Mushroom, Toothbrush (Chibi Robo), and the speed shoes from Sonic are all new items shown off.

- The one new stage is Patched Plains from Kirby.

- Simon and Isabelle are also both legit things. Isabelle is not an echo of Villager but several of her moves seem to be borrowed. She's like Luigi is to Mario.

- I know of more info but I'll just leave it with the stuff revealed at the direct as later stuff is subject to change. Also I don't want to be the first to break news of newcomers.

Fortunately the deadline is tonight. So we'll know this rumor's fate in a few hours.

I bet that this is like the Funko Pop leak where the guy gets something immediately right to raise his credibility and then just types whatever he wants and we'll believe it.

The only reason I can see K Rool getting left out is if Dixie got in and for some reason Sakurai decided there was only enough space in the limited newcomer spots for one more DK rep. Stupid reason, but since Ridley got in because of Western fan outcry alone, I'm trying to think why K Rool would be left out.

Assuming the leak is real, which it probably isn't lol

When it comes to King K. Rool vs. Dixie Kong, I always saw Dixie Kong making it in over King K. Rool. If this were to happen, I wouldn't be too surprised if King K. Rool made it in as an Assist Trophy.

It'd suck, sure, but at least the character is in Smash in a form other than just a standard trophy. Krystal was my most wanted newcomer, and although it stings that she's only an Assist Trophy, I'm thrilled to see her as something more than a trophy in the first place.

Plus, there's always the chance that deconfirmed characters could make it as DLC. Pokken did it with Croagunk, so surely it could be done with Smash. And with how big of an outcry there was over Waluigi being deconfirmed, it could definitely be possible. Still not exactly likely, as it's never happened in Smash before, but I wouldn't say its impossible.

I wouldn't be shocked if King K. Rool (probably as Kaptain K. Rool) and Bandanna Waddle Dee ended up being assist trophies. I like to think King K. Rool being a Mii costume in SSB4 means he's likely to end up being playable, but it seems that most of the Mii costumes were based on characters that were really popular, but were dismissed or just wouldn't work for various reasons (Takamaru, Chrom, Geno, Heihachi)

I hope I'm wrong, but It wouldn't be unusual for someone like King K. Rool to be fated as an assist trophy. A lot of popular characters that are dormant (Krystal) or don't bring a whole lot of move set potential (Bomberman) have become assist trophies.

I would be prepared to see King K. Rool, Waddle Dee, and Geno as assist trophies. But, I certainly hope King K. Rool and Waddle Dee become playable.

His personality is love it or hate it.

Story is... well, full of plot holes. While when I was younger I liked his backstory, I will say that what ShayMay put forward for a Shadow Backstory in his "Sonic Spitball" series would have made way more sense. (I linked to the full series, but the Character stuff is in Part 2)

Shadow would have actually been a clone of Sonic made by Dr. Eggman, and would have met Maria during the course of the story, who befriends him and all that jazz.
