Mario & Sonic Guy
Old rivalries live on!
While I'm not too sure about how well it would work out, if Infinite was an Assist Trophy, perhaps he'd create clones of himself to attack your opponents.

That'd incredibly disappointing considering his powers. Then again Forces absolutely wasted his potential so I guess it fitsWhile I'm not too sure about how well it would work out, if Infinite was an Assist Trophy, perhaps he'd create clones of himself to attack your opponents.
Neither Sonic games are anything special. So I'm about to experience Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Sonic Mania, Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and ..... Sonic Forces all for the first time in two days. Tell me guys, am I in for something special? Also I hope it doesn't spoil the game knowing who the champions are going into Breath of the Wild.
You're gonna love Odyssey and BotW. Nintendo hasn't made games that good in a long time (And no, knowing who the Champions are isn't really a huge spoiler. They're shown off in a cutscene very early in the game.) Mania and Rabbids are also good. Both of those titles should be rather enjoyable. As for Forces... Well, I'm sure enough has been said on that.So I'm about to experience Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Sonic Mania, Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and ..... Sonic Forces all for the first time in two days. Tell me guys, am I in for something special? Also I hope it doesn't spoil the game knowing who the champions are going into Breath of the Wild.
I'll admit, this really made me laugh. Then again Forces absolutely wasted his potential so I guess it fits
As if we were forced in to choosing between the two.We need Solid Snake back, and his codecs are better than Palutena's Guidance. I think this has been said multiple times before.
I agree with this.
People want Young Link back in Smash but man, we got Toon Link already. We do not need three links guys, and Toon Link outclasses Young Link in popularity. Sorry If I broke your dreams, Young Link people.
Pretty much; I doubt Nintendo will chose Young Link over Toon Link or even add him. Toon Link casts a large shadow over Young Link when it comes to smash potential. As if we were forced in to choosing between the two.
Forces wasted it's own potential. This post is TRUTH.That'd incredibly disappointing considering his powers. Then again Forces absolutely wasted his potential so I guess it fits
I don't see how anyone of us could answer that question. If ZeRo continues to perform at the level he plays then sure yeah.Is ZeRo still going to be the best if the next Smash game comes? Just curious.
Not if YLink could incorporate things from his game in his moveset.Pretty much; I doubt Nintendo will chose Young Link over Toon Link or even add him. Toon Link casts a large shadow over Young Link when it comes to smash potential.
If Infinite became an assist trophy I'd hope that he'd do nothing but screech "I'M NOT WEAK!" over and over again. While I'm not too sure about how well it would work out, if Infinite was an Assist Trophy, perhaps he'd create clones of himself to attack your opponents.
There's no way to tell that until we all get to play the game, for all we know it could be exactly like Smash 4 but by the time it comes out there might be an player better than him already or an player better suited to rule over a new meta that comes with the inevitable balance changes. Like say, if Duck Hunt got insane buffs that put him on the level of Brawl Meta Knight and Diddy Kong somehow became the worst character, yeah, he'd probably not be number one for awhile because he'd have to either adjust to all of Diddy's changes and/or learn a new character while insertyourfavoriteDuckHuntmainhere just gets handed everything they ever asked for and proceeds to demolish everyone and everything. I'm not saying that's what will happen but even if it's just a port balance changes could cost him the number one title depending on what they change and/or don't change, even if only temporarily. Is ZeRo still going to be the best if the next Smash game comes? Just curious.
Spot on, agree with everything you've said about fixing Zelda representation in Smash. Can be done so much better. Overall, the way Ganondorf is represented is a disservice to the character. If they must, have Zelda revert back to Sheik again via down special. The Zelda roster just needs some major upgrading. Sheik and Ganondorf aren't really cutting it anymore for me. Cause to be honest, Ganondorf could've easily been included in BOTW if they wanted. Sheik is never getting back in a Zelda game either. They didn't do it with Twilight Princess, so I don't see them opting for a Sheik appearance ever again.
I think it'll be above 65 but below 70. I'm expecting a good amount of cuts, too.How many characters are you expecting for the next game?
I ask this because we are at fifty-one characters with the base roster - fifty-eight when including Smash 3DS & Wii U's DLC characters. That is a lot of characters, impressive when considering that all but three characters are fully fleshed out.
Honestly, I couldn't give a close range. We could see a total shakeup with a roster size around Brawl's if Nintendo feels it needs to go in a completely different direction or we could see what we got in the previous games and get an expanded roster with similar gameplay mechanics.
However, I'm certain that it will not go beyond seventy characters. I expect several cuts and I doubt there will be enough additions to push it past that mark.
When looking at cuts, what I find is that when it comes to cuts from Melee to Brawl and Brawl to Smash 3DS & Wii U, most are clones and semi-clones. If they are unique characters (like Pokémon Trainer, Ice Climber, and Snake), they have extenuating circumstances explaining their absence. Mewtwo is the only odd one out and even then, he was planned for the first three games (not sure about Smash 3DS & Wii U prior to DLC though) and being a Pokémon likely makes development of playable characters especially complicated because of the Pokémon Company's insistence on new playable characters per latest gen as of Brawl. So when looking at plausible cuts for this game, these are the ones most likely to get the axe:I think it'll be above 65 but below 70. I'm expecting a good amount of cuts, too.
Without any context on the game's development, I don't think we have any good way of guessing, we don't know if they're using the same engine as Smash 4 or not, what the dev team's focusing on and so on but, without counting any potential DLC, my guess'll be 72. Why? Because I like how 72 sounds, there's no rhyme or reason behind it.How many characters are you expecting for the next game?

Would be behind any of that irony?I kind of feel bad for people who want Chrom in Smash, because Sakurai said a message to us way before.
Well at least they made a Mii costume. I notice a strong sense of irony about this picture by the way...
He overrides the current BGM with his theme, and everyone just KOs themselves in such awe. While I'm not too sure about how well it would work out, if Infinite was an Assist Trophy, perhaps he'd create clones of himself to attack your opponents.
Cuts would be a whole lot easier to handle if they were finished and released for free or even for cheap as DLC. Like, I get that Wolf was low priority and I know Ice Climbers had problems but I would've payed a couple of bucks to have them back. I would've bought the game twice if it meant we got Snake. Sakurai's stance on that really bothered me to be honest.I think it'll be above 65 but below 70. I'm expecting a good amount of cuts, too.
Forces wasted a lot of potential in multiple departments though to be fair. That'd incredibly disappointing considering his powers. Then again Forces absolutely wasted his potential so I guess it fits
No no no please don't let that ever happen. Zelda and Sheik are better separate. Even tho they are still horribly imbalanced. That's a reason why I wanted Impa instead of Sheik as well. A separate Sheik still looks weird to me, cause she only got in because of her being a transformation of Zelda anyway. Which is also a reason I wanted Impa to take up the spot that separate Sheik now has. It makes more sense than Sheik on her own anyway.Spot on, agree with everything you've said about fixing Zelda representation in Smash. Can be done so much better. How many do I expect? I don't know how much DLC we'll be getting, but the initial roster should have around 65 characters, give or take a few.How many characters are you expecting for the next game?

I've already given my thoughts on cuts in my previous post.So here's a question: with people expecting a larger roster than Sm4sh (not by much but still) AND expecting cuts, that means quite a few newcomers (less so if you believe the likes of Pichu, Ice Climbers, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Pokemon Trainer, Snake and/or Wolf are coming back). With common prediction release dates for Smash for Switch being some time next year or 2019 and with only what? Splatoon and ARMS as new IPs between Sm4sh and a Smash 5 and a few releases for current IPs (Mario Odyssey, BotW, Starfox Zero, Samus Returns, Federation Force, not gonna count Prime 4 since we don't know anything about it, Pokemon Sun/Moon, Kirby Planet Robobot, not counting the 2018 game yet, FE Shadows of Valentia, FE Warriors and FE Heroes and whatever other games I may be forgetting). What cuts are people expecting and additions? Should also note that I'm not expecting every newcomer to be from a recent game but the vast majority of them are.
I don't know what to expect for newcomers at all but for cuts, I'm expecting maybemaybemaybemaybemaybe. Was also gonna put a maybe but I feel the combination of Marth, Ike and Robin cover FE pretty well with Marth being the beginning, Ike being the first jump to 3D and having the biggest story and Robin being the rejuvenation of the franchise. Lucina could very well do that too but she was initially only planned as a costume and got the clone treatment instead and while not concrete, we've had clones cut before or decloned. Also hoping for these 3 vets to come back
I mean honestly I don't think there's anything to worry about. The 3DS is on its last legs and already has a Smash game, and I highly doubt we'll get a 4DS/HDS or something like that.Who else is hoping a handheld Smash doesn't get in the way of the next console Smash's potential? It felt great when Smash was console exclusive and I miss that.
Both is like Sakurai trying to commit suicide anyway.
Here's what Smash on the 4DS would look like:I mean honestly I don't think there's anything to worry about. The 3DS is on its last legs and already has a Smash game, and I highly doubt we'll get a 4DS/HDS or something like that.
Fairly sure Nintendo's consolidating everything into the Switch.
Yeah when you think it over, even an Assist Trophy role may not work. If worse comes to worse, a simple trophy cameo for Infinite would be the best bet, and even those odds are uncertain. If Infinite became an assist trophy I'd hope that he'd do nothing but screech "I'M NOT WEAK!" over and over again.
Really though, I don't think he has any chance at all, they probably won't choose him when they've got far more important and beloved characters such as Dr. Eggman, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Metal Sonic from the same franchise to work with.
About your Master Chief thing: Does the Halo Mash-Up Pack being on the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft (No, seriously. Worth the Google.) increase Master Chief’s chances of being in Smash Bros, or is it like how Cloud being in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the GameBoy justify his inclusion? We need a character that originates from a game that is exclusive to the Xbox ( Steam is fine ). For example; . I know Final Fantasy has been in Nintendo consoles before, but the game Cloud was in was exclusive to the PS1. My option is Master Cheif, but I feel like many casual Nintendo fans would not understand Master Cheif. Then agian, we got Solid Snake in Brawl. The two veterans I hope will return the most is Solid Snake and Ice Climbers. Ice Climbers is most likely going to make it because the 3DS had a problem fitting them in, so they will get another chance. We also need a BOTW / Xenoblade Chronicles 2 character as well as a new Pokemon from Gen 7. Greninja can stay; I like him in Smash.
Obligatory post of how Cloud/Final Fantasy was never owned by Sony.We need a character that originates from a game that is exclusive to the Xbox ( Steam is fine ). For example; . I honestly don't care which third-party character gets added as long as said character is fairly iconic to gaming as a whole. I'm not about to throw my support for some random character just for the sake of having someone from a PlayStation/Xbox exclusive franchise. We need a character that originates from a game that is exclusive to the Xbox ( Steam is fine ). I know Cloud is not from Sony ( I should have mentioned that ), and I said that Final Fantasy has been in Nintendo Consoles. The thing is that Microsoft and Nintendo are allowing cross play and that might help with Master Chief in Smash, I do not know. Phil Spencer even was fine with having Banjo Kazooie ( Something Microsoft owns ) in Smash during the Smash Ballot.Master Chief and Cloud are not comparable.
Cloud isn't owned by Sony, he's a Square-Enix character.
It doesn't matter that his game is Sony-exclusive, he himself and the series he's from are not.
Master Cheif is a very iconic gaming character; I think he is one of the gaming mascots on Xbox. Halo is also a popular series.I honestly don't care which third-party character gets added as long as said character is fairly iconic to gaming as a whole. I'm not about to throw my support for some random character just for the sake of having someone from a PlayStation/Xbox exclusive franchise.
I think both are acceptable. It probably helped Cloud a little bit that Square Enix put Final Fantasy games in Nintendo consoles before Playstation. If they put Cloud in the Gameboy with Kingdom Hearts after they went to Sony, I think Square Enix is still fine with Nitnendo. It could happen since Microsoft and Nintendo let Minecraft cross so the other players can interact despite being in different consoles. Keep in mind that Minecraft is a large cash cow.About your Master Chief thing: Does the Halo Mash-Up Pack being on the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft (No, seriously. We just need Master Chief period. Not because he's xbox exclusive, but because he's a modern gaming icon.We need a character that originates from a game that is exclusive to the Xbox ( Steam is fine ). For example; . If from the Xbox brand, the only names I could come up with are Master Chief of the Halo series, Banjo & Kazooie, Joanna Dark of Perfect Dark and someone from Killer Instinct. We need a character that originates from a game that is exclusive to the Xbox ( Steam is fine ).
