Completely serious. I'm not nostalgic for Gen 1, so seeing so many characters from that Gen alone is disappointing. My first gen, 2, has nothing but a clone. Gen 5 only has a stage, and 3 has nothing. Meanwhile, Gen 1 has 6 characters and 2 stages.

Yeah at this point you can tell if a leak is fake because they list K. Rool as the next reveal. If I were Sakurai I'd save K. Rool for a Smash focused direct. I don't know what this "K. Rool is going to be the next fighter revealed" bandwagon is about.

Because everyone on online forums agree on him being the most likely newcomer right now. So naturally anonymous people make up leaks who have nothing better to do capitalise on that.

This is particularly why I've never been sold on a "K Rool July reveal." It makes no sense to drop the two biggest bombs right after each other.

The leak would have been somewhat believable had they.

1) Remembered to included Lucas.
2) Randomised the newcomers after Ridley.

Of course, that's too much effort for an opportunist looking for 15 minutes of fame.

That's... not how they're going to reveal these guys, I can almost guarantee it.

For all we know, the next character is gonna be somebody nobody expects (and I mean nobody, aside from Goku who will never, EVER be in Smash Bros. in any way, shape, or form). Nintendo is unpredictable with this sort of stuff.

How do you guys feel about the new knockback animation in Ultimate?

I’ve heard some raise concerns about it and after watching a lot of gameplay I just feel that it’s way too fast to even try to DI correctly in time? Tbh I struggled enough trying to factor angles and vectoring to DI correctly in Sm4sh so I’m a little worried about it going into Ultimate. Thanks

I, personally, don't mind it. Though I can see where the people who don't are coming from.

I think once the competitive community gets used to it, it'll lead to some cool looking doubles combos.

So I also discovered that not only is Symphonia is having it's 15th anniversary on August 29th. Vesperia is having it's 10th Anniversary on August 7th. So I'm hoping for Lloyd or Yuri if there's an August Direct.

Animation? I think you’re talking about the knockback Speed. It’s fine to be honest, I don’t think it will effect the game too much.

I saw him everywhere on roster predictions from those times, it’s a shame he still isn’t in though, DD has good timing too and we got nothing. (Although Issac’s Assist trophy was removed, which might mean that possible Golden Sun content was planned, that’s a whole tin foil hat theory).

He was, but Nintendo has essentially tossed Golden Sun in the garbage. After Smash 4 and the removal of the Issac Assist Trophy his fans were incredibly demoralized.

I had forgotten that Ashley and Tails got Costumes.

honestly, I wouldn't be shocked. Smash 4's focus was kinda on adding missed franchises.

with melee, only Fire Emblem, Ice Climbers, and G&W were added. beyond third-parties, brawl only added kid icarus, wario, pikmin, and R.O.B. as new franchises - When we put together the recent franchises, that really only leaves Pikmin and Wario (but people only group him up with Mario anyways). In Smash 4, we had Animal Crossing (getting a character), Wii Fit, Mii's, Xenoblade, Punch-Out, and Duck Hunt - That's without even mentioning the DLC or Kid Icarus basically getting a revamp - Bar Duck Hunt, all of these franchises had a recent installment.

So... I'm inclined to believe that even if Isaac and Dillon are regulated as assist trophies again (or worse, a no show at all), they probably were considered heavily more than most other characters.


Something related I want to mention (I should really shuffle this all together): New series are kinda hard to compare compared to characters for existing series, especially since pretty much any supporting character is just icing on the (smash) cake.

Ooooooohhhhhhhh my god, I just saw the Miis update. So the Miis variable specials are returning, thank goodness.

I was so, SO worried that they wouldn't

I understand that a lot of other people, even my fellow Mii mains, might not feel the same, but I've always loved the movesets I made for my Miis and I'll be really glad to have them back in Ultimate.

Honestly, that was one of the last worries I had for this game. Really the only thing left is the unique sfx, and I'll be all set.

Ooooooh yes! I would adore a JYB voice for Miis.

JYB has a great voice for special attack names and the like. I wonder if they'd give those to the Miis.

It'd be cool if the Miis shouted out attack names during their Final Smashes.
