I've updated my roster predictions after sifting through 161 leaks in a little under a month.
It's so nice having all the Ultimate newcomers in one row.

I'm largely working under the same assumptions that not too many newcomers is a half-truth, the ballot is being used, and Mii Costumes were a concession.
King K. Rool: I think it's safe to assume that K. Rool performed well in the ballot. Not just in the West like Ridley, but overall. Sakurai is definitely aware of the demand, seeing that K. Rool recieved a Mii Costume. I don't imagine that Sakurai couldn't come up with a moveset for him, as his problem with Ridley wasn't size, but conveying his vicious fighting style and being true to his character. It's definitely possible to make K. Rool true to his zany self. If we don't see K. Rool, then we'll see Dixie as a consolation of sorts.
Geno: Again, Geno likely performed decently in the ballot, moreso in the West. However, Geno's been a long time coming with his potential inclusion being a thing since Brawl. Sakurai likely already has a moveset prepared and only needed Square Enix's approval. He's already got them at the negotiations table, and he's already negotiated to use Geno as a mii costume, so I think next he's going to negotiate for Geno as a character.
Ashley: She's Japan's Ridley. Sakurai has commented on her popularity, acknowledging it with a Mii costume, and she'd be the "Little Mac" of this game. She balances out both Ridley and the Little Mac trend by being a predominantly Japanese pick. She'd bring a full mage moveset to the game, so she'd have a unique moveset too.
Bandana Waddle Dee: A moderately popular character overall who also has the perk of relevance in the Kirby series. A little bit of Sakubias could carry him as well. He fights with a Spear, which is also new to Smash Bros. in terms of movesets.
Lloyd/a Namco Rep: Lloyd is my bias, but I see us getting either Lloyd or Heihachi/a Tekken representative. Both are popular, having received Mii Costumes, represent prominent game series (Tales of being one of the "big three JRPGs" and Tekken being one of the big fighting games), and could bring new movesets to Smash (Lloyd with dual wielding swords and Heihachi with a Tekken based moveset). I think it comes down to two factors: who's more popular and who Sakurai can come up with a moveset for. Hell, we might get both at once, or (my guess) the other as DLC. If Lloyd is made into DLC, there's the possibility he becomes Yuri Lowell due to Tales of Vesperia's popularity and the upcoming definitive edition.
Simon Belmont: Not just due to Vergeben, but also because he's a popular third party pick. I think Simon Belmont would still be a popular character in fan speculation without Vergeben as he and his series are iconic. A whip moveset could also open up a lot of possibilities.
Chorus Men: A scrapped idea from Smash 4 (evidenced by Gematsu) that Sakurai can now add due to no technical limitations holding him back. A moveset is prepped, assets from Smash 4 development likely already exist (Smash Ultimate is built from Smash 4), and there's nothing stopping them this time.
Chibi-Robo: He's our WTF character, but he's also a Nintendo icon in his own right. His series has been around and kicking since the Gamecube Era, with him appearing on every console minus the Wii U in one form or another. In 2015 he also had relevance, with Chibi Robo Zip-Lash coming out then.
Dark Samus: An echo that's easy to make and promotes the upcoming Metroid Prime 4. Also adds some much needed Metroid representation.
Chrom: He's the perfect echo in my eyes. Sakurai has said he'd be too similar to Marth and Ike, he's made fun of for being too similar in a Palutena's guidance conversation, and Ike's moveset practically fits 1:1 on Chrom. And Sakurai gets to avoid Fire Emblem controversy as he takes little to no development time because he's an echo and he gets to please Fire Emblem fans who've been waiting for Chrom since the last game. Celica as a Robin echo is an honorable mention.
Isabelle: A popular character (she's practically the face of Animal Crossing) that's easy to add and appease fans. It's perfect.
Honorable Mentions:
Elma: Sakurai might've decided to wait for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to add a character, so Rex and Pyra will be DLC. Elma could make a kickass assist trophy by flying around in her Skell and wreaking havoc.
Isaac: I feel like he did well in the Ballot, but not well enough. I give him good chances for DLC though.
Lip: Same thing as Isaac, but she's also the retro representative.
Dixie Kong: We'll likely see her as a unique fighter or semi-clone if we don't get K. Rool. Heck, she might get in even with K. Rool, like many leaks have been suggesting.
Dragon Quest representative: Square Enix is already at the table, and Dragon Quest is a huge franchise. Again, I give one decent chances as DLC.

Any roster that validates Vergeben is like validating Mega Man because of Gematsu.

Turns out some of our puzzle leaks were made by one guy, he was nice enough to give answers:
Weird seeing my work referenced on 4chan of all places (it actually was last night, but I was called an "autistic ******." Especially funny because it was while we were talking about 4chan being mean), but you know what? Thank you noteacherthecrestsaretoblame for giving me some fun puzzles instead of regular boring leak garbage. Am I a fan of the copycats? No. But you know what, I hope your work gets a section on Smash wiki for the sheer stupidity of it. And who knows, maybe one of them is right like you say.

Hello it is "noteacherthecrestsaretoblame." In honor of the ridiculous "riddle" Smash Bros leaks, I struck back by taking refuge in audacity this weekend and posted three puzzle leaks. Here are the answers:
1) First thread was the map coordinate leak. (LINK: http://boards.4chan.org/v/thread/423353715). 4chan did a good job with this one; the answers were:
a) ASHLEY: The Ashley district in Bristol, UK with a street and store with the name Ashley
b) KING K ROOL: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, FL. It is the football stadium of the Florida Gators. I realize K. Rool is meant to be a croc, not a gator. Btw, UF sucks at football.
c) SIMON BELMONT: Castelul Corvinilor in Romania, specifically the Transylvania region, the source of many Dracula myths. This is Dracula's Castle
d) KARATE JOE: A YMCA in Tennessee. The coordinates actually lead you to a photo sphere in Google Maps which brings you inside the halls of the YMCA, where you can see a picture of kids doing karate. Also, I chose this location as it was near Nashville, the Music City
e) ELMA: Kowloon Park in Hong Kong. From this point, you can see the Hotel Mira with the signage very clear. Mira is the name of the planet from Xenoblade Chronicles X.
f) IMPA: It appears to be a random intersection in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. But dutiful users noticed the bus stop reading "IMPA." IMPA is actually an acronym for a local high school in Buenos Aires.
g) DIXIE KONG: Campus of Dixie State University in St. George, UT
h) MEDUSA: The art plaza of Plaza della Signoria in Florence, Italy. The nearby sculpture was created in the 16th century by Benvenuto Cellini and is called "Perseus with the Head of Medusa."
i) PAPER MARIO This is outside of the Nintendo shipping building in Sweden. You see Mario, right? Mario and Dr. Mario are already in the game, so who else could it be?
2) The second exercise was the word search leak. Apparently, I have spawned some copycats. Well, I was the first. Glad other people feel similarly to be about 4chan leaks.

Here was the initial word search (https://i.imgur.com/xnmkSH0.png) and the answers to the word search (https://i.imgur.com/svN1Phj.png). I probably should have used a more robust word search generator so that three-letter accidents like Rex and Boo could be excluded. Also, one of the characters is the protagonist of the yet-to-be revealed Pikmin 4. That was pretty unfair for me to include in the leak. I apologize profusely.

3) And finally I jumped the shark by doing the Where’s Waldo? leak. I had a lot of fun creating the Where’s Waldo image.

The hidden veterans were Mario, Zelda, Ice Climbers, Duck Hunt, and Pikachu.
And yeah… that is it. I wonder if any copycats will come along with other ridiculous leaks that have no evidence behind them?
If anyone on Smashboards sees this, go ahead and link this thread to Tehponycorn so he can catalog the characters on his excel sheet correctly. I saw that he posted some wrong answers to the map coordinate leak.

Translating tools have been getting better, but many languages have so many little nuances that it's really hard for machines (or non-natives, really) to pick up on them.

So, The guy still claims to have legit info if I'm reading this correctly... I guess if a character in Pikmin 4 is named Millwall then we'll know he knew something, but in general that still leaves us in the dark about who's actually in Smash.

To kill time, let's take the time and express what small details we appreciate in particular. I, for one, love how they actually took Pichu and made it look like a legitimate threat in its trailer, despite its status as the resident joke character.

There's a part in Yoshi's character trailer where red Yoshi throws a Mr. Saturn to blue Yoshi, as a reference to the relay system in Yoshi's Island.

I'm still unsure though. Maybe I am a part of the cause. Is it worth it if I am?
Also, here are all of my former rosters (minus the first one, which is missing...). They were kinda close at parts, and not at all close at others. I think I got closest with the 6.0 roster (even guessed Bayonetta lol). I made them anywhere from 4-5 years ago (so I was 13/14), so please have mercy. If you look closely, the last roster was made months before my jump to Smashboards because a site error resulted in me getting IP banned.

Finally, Kirby look quit fun! While I hope he got some more buff, I feel like he quit enjoyable to play at casual level. His new-old dask attack in particular look fun to use.

Something I find really exciting about Link is that his sword is huge! There's a part during Leffen vs Zero when Leffen's Link up smashed from under a platform and it completely covered Villager's shield. I sincerely hope that Link's close-quarters spacing game will improve with this longer sword.

Because as of now, they only have 5 months to show us whatever they want us to know pre-release, compared to Smash 4's pre-release period of over a year.
They didn't camel up properly and now they're parched.
This is a marathon, friends, not a sprint.

This. Smash 4's pre-release period was 16 months (Revealed in June 2013, released October/November 2014).
Smash Ultimate's is not even 6 months (Revealed June 13th 2018, releasing December 7th).
Over a month has passed and we've gotten close to nothing. The game releases in 5 months, and while we do know a lot, there's still a lot that we don't know in terms of characters, stages, items, music, gamemodes, and more.

In the defence of Smash 4, a lot of the time between reveal and release involved waiting in anticipation to the monthly veteran reveal. Since we have all veterans, it gives more time to build up the newcomer reveals

I'm thinking Geno. Even Sakurai himself has wanted him since Brawl. If he can purchase the rights to the magic doll, he can add him in. There have been hints at Chrom being a fighter, which I believe Sakurai has wanted. Because this is Smash Bros. ULTIMATE, it would make sense for Sakurai to add both. I'm hoping for Geno.

I would agree that Geno and Chrom (as an echo) both seem likely.
I do wonder if there’ll be any more reveals for echoes or if they’ll be kept as secret characters.
