Sorry to interrupt your regularly scheduled program, but I’m just curious as to how many more newcomers everyone believes are to be revealed?

I’m trying to determine something, and I need other people’s input.

Right now, I personally believe we have 9 more newcomers to be revealed. Making 12 total.

This does NOT include DLC. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Lucario can be a poeball Pokemon.
ROB can be an assist, where he slowly moves after a minute of programming, like in real life.
Toon Link is a third Link assist.
Wolf is yet another Star Fox assist shooting lasers.
Villager going about his day doing random things works as an assist.
Mega Man shooting projectiles works better as an assist.
Wii Fit Trainer can instruct the fighters how to exercise.
Rosalina is already half assist.
Little Mac is literally an assist trophy.

I'm thinking something more akin to Melee. 8 Newcomers and maybe 2-6 Echo Fighters. My personal take.

I'm just using the epsilon symbols to indicate "clones". Not saying Rex or Dixie necessarily be labelled echoes like Dark Pit or Daisy.

If you don't think Rex would be an echo of Shulk, he has his own set of arts and his blade functions pretty much exactly the same. So the only thing that would probably be different his down special.

My point was that Bomberman really only places bombs in most of his games (I'm talking about the mainstream sequels, not the obscure one time spin offs like Bomberman Hero). Where as all of those characters you listed are known for having various abilities throughout their mainstream installments.

I'm really sorry you went to that effort for such an awful comeback.

Yeah, I think a lot of your picks will make the cut myself. I am hoping for Mimikyu as well, but we’ll see. Also, thank you for clarifying things about Rex and Dixie. I could definitely see them as semi-clones. Only thing with Rex is I’ll believe he with be a duo with Pyra.

I’m still not sold on Simon yet. Unless he is the next to be revealed, I just think Geno would be the next most likely 3rd Party. Nothing against the character, just going off what I’ve seen.

As someone who was mega unhappy with Bayo being the last character, I can assure you it had absolutely nothing to do with my favorite not getting in. It was more just baffling to me that Bayonetta was considered significant enough to be in the game at all, especially when characters like K. Rool existed. I mean she won the vote (or was "most realizable" among voted characters, anyway), so I guess my perception of the worlds feelings toward her were incorrect. But then it didn't help that she's so oppressive to play against. I still hate the current state of her abilities in Smash, but as a character I don't mind her existence in the game anymore.

Just because Reggie said that Sakurai will be aware of Waluigi's popularity, that doesn't mean Waluigi is suddenly going to become playable. Sakurai has acknowledged Ridley's popularity in the past, and he didn't become DLC for Smash 4. If you ask me, Sakurai has already decided Waluigi's (and all AT's) fate for Smash Ultimate. It probably isn't going to change unless something absolutely unbelievable happens to Sakurai making him change his mind

Maybe adding a Phantom Thief like Joker to steal his heart could do the trick

Waluigi doesn't have the challenge of making a fighter who is too big. Nintendo is a busniess, if they know they can make money off Waluigi dlc they will add him.

I was a bit disappointed Alph wasn't promoted to an echo fighter. All that would have to be changed is replacing Purple Pikmin with Rock Pikmin and replacing White Pikmin with Winged Pikmin. Rock Pikmin could do very high knockback but not grab onto opponents to continue damaging them, and winged pikmin could be thrown the furthest out of all of the pikmin but not do much damage

As for Bayonetta I still stand by her having absolutely no place in Smash Bros. Always will. I also think her winning the Smash ballot was a sham, though I'm sure this has been discussed to death already. I also find most of the Bayonetta fans obnoxious in my experience. Like they almost seem unable to talk about her games without belittling Devil May Cry lol. Doesn't help how she's completely busted in Smash.

If there's one silver lining to her being in Smash it's that a lot of people hate her now who would have otherwise stayed indifferent or not even know about the franchise at all. To the point where people flat out boo at her when she's on the screen lol.

Man, she could've been at the literal ****in' bottom of the ballot for all I care. All that matters is that I wanted her for a long time, she finally got in, and I'm happy.

But, if I'm being honest, even as the most avid Bayonetta supporter you'll meet, I don't think she won the ballot either. I think she was maybe in the top 10, at most.

Obviously she wasn't the true statistical winner.
Once you sift through the memes, the 3rd parties that won't hand over the rights, the ones that simply don't fit, etc, etc. you're left with a small pile of nominees and Bayonetta just happened to be the top.
